In an old house in Paris that was covered with vines, lived twelve little girls in two straight lines. They left the house at half past nine. The smallest one was Madeline. <33
Made me so happy!! Im 15, but i feel like im a little girl again watching this. :')
In the original books and tv specials Madeline was NOT an orphan. In the tv special Madeline's Christmas Madeline's paretns were alive and they came to visit her. In the live-action movie, with Frances McDormand, Madeline was an orphan, and every adapatation after that she was one as well.
@LovleyAngel666: No, no. They're not orphans. That was only from the live-action movie, which took liberties with the continuity. In the cartoon & original stories, the 12 little girls--including Madeline--live at their school, with Ms. Cleval as their teacher/guardian. That does not, mean, however that the girls don't have real parents, who were probably the ones to send them to the school in the first place. In fact, to compare, the school is almost convent-like in nature.
Zomg... I loved this show when I was little.. My favorite movie was the one where they went to the toy factory and they had dolls that looked like them. I also loved the one where they were cooking :3
@EdwardCullen8011 To tell the truth, in the original series Madeline wasn't an orphan at all - she had parents which came to visit her in Madeline's Christmas. But in the newest Madelines and the movies they made her an orphan. Which, I suppose, is okay...maybe her parents died in between!
@ilovebunni956 No, only Madeline (Which makes little sense, since in an old Christmas special, her parents visited.. o.O) and the school/convent is where the others were sent by their parents. Ms. Clavel is a nun, and their teacher/guardian.
There once was a misconception that this film was made by Disney due to the fact that Buena Vista released the original VHS back 10 years ago. Now we all know that this is clearly NOT a Disney film from the look of the animation and the fact that Shout!Factory released the DVD just now.
@phasmic The quality of my original is far from perfect, plus it always loses some during conversion. I would love to upload this in HQ but unfortunately that is impossible :)

Why are they in an orphanage if they have parents? Or has my whole life been a lie and they are in a boarding school?
