  • It is Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, so the correct name is TRIÂNGULO INVERTIDO in portuguese

  • Arguing English when it is someones second language is a dick move, especially when inverted means opposite so it is correct (kinda) anyway.

  • bolt lock

  • its common sense people thats called trouble shooting if it doesnt work one way you modded so it can work its nothing out of the ordianary if you aint trouble shooting your the ones with the black belts that get their asses kicked in street fights cause you think that wat works in a controlled enviorment in the dojo is gona work in the cage and in the street

  • wah wah wah sheep if they say jump of the roof youll do it cause the gracies say so

  • Deus Seja Louvado !!!

    Jiu Jitsu............................ Ossssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssssi

  • I usually just switch to omoplata

  • soofocate him

  • why not just teepee?

  • you have to be careful with triangles - dont attempt them in a streetfight - you will get bitten!

  • @3LeeJennings3 only until they pass out! haha!

  • Renzo is one of the greatest P4P instructors of all time. Great sense of humor and grapples like the master he is. THUMBS UP RENZO!

  • Goddammit people! The artistic order of the move should suffice enough than to naming it. I know it helps you remember the move, but the move itself should be rather deeply remembered!lol

  • RENZO GRACIE:Legend

  • It's kind of ironic how people learn new techniques on their own while they're rolling just from trial and error without being instructed to do so. I rolled with this wrestler one time that did this same exact defense. He just hugged around my hips while inside the triangl and I had nowhere to go. He was just stalling. I switched my legs and went for a gogoplata and it worked. His arms were caught under my body and couln't defend against it. His facial expression was funny after he tapped.

  • cool that was handy :) bit of a variation on what i do in class but normally i just wait for them to try stand then switch to arm bar

  • arguing about the definition of inverted triangle??? what do you have to say abotu the mata leao? stfu

  • who cares what he calls it...my BJJ instructor called it the "Bremuda triangle"...what ever helps you remember the move

  • It's inverted not because he does it from the bottom...

But because the foot placement is completely different.

This is a way to finish the triangle even when the opponent does not let you get his arm accross his neck, instead of the inside leg crossing over the back to the outside leg is crossing over to the inside.

  • it shud be *reverse triangle*, then theres invert to triangle(ryan hall), and also inverted triangle (braulio)

  • @dearskin then what does that make what Toby Imada's submission of the year? *that* to me is a reverse triangle, he's on the guy's back. And he's upside down as well, which makes it an inverted reverse triangle.

I think Renzo's naming convention is totally fine though, it's a weird move.

  • @TheGreenLantern01 youre right,it aint inverted, what braulio used in adcc was inverted

  • LOVe this !

Counter to the counter to the Triangle!

  • @PanKrato and one day there will be a counter to the counter to the counter to the triangle..... thats what I love about Jiujitsu

  • As long as he showwhat is being done I do not give a crap about what the move is called

  • i would love to be tought by renzo

  • you lock it opposite legs than you would normally

  • honestly, i don't give a shit what a dictionary says or what any of you guys say this move should be called. renzo calls it inverted? it's inverted.

  • @borayongacoglu yeah and anyway who gives a shit what its called .

you just need to pull it off.

  • @borayongacoglu

agree 100% whatever renzo, rickson, royler say.....

    RIP MASTER HELIO GRACIE

    RIP MASTER CARLSON GRACIE.

  • @borayongacoglu i think it's called inverted becausa the position of his legs

  • @borayongacoglu does it matter how the move is named, or if you can execute it efficiently? There are a lot of judo and jj techniques that i use and don't even know their names, or only english names, not the japanese.

  • Renzo is the man and this is a great technique, but I have to agree with some of the other posts, this is a REVERSE triangle, not an inverted. Inverted is when you are upside down, reverse is when you cross your legs over the side of their neck rather than the shoulder. The Bolt Lock is the name that Submissions 101 gives to the standard Reverse Triangle.

  • You could also tepee at that point, triangle/bermuda-bolt lock/tepee are the trifects from hell for someone stuck in it.

  • renzos or barra academy rio?

  • man thats sick..hadnt seen that one before

  • It's called a bolt lock/bermuda triangle.

    /watch?v=JIO0hRMnZHs

  • according to Ari Bolden who has loads more experience than Renzo Gracie, right?

  • INVERTED means UPSIDE DOWN dummy not backwards or opposite side.

The inverted triangle is Ryan Hall's move.

    watch?v=jpxyMW4BQqc

  • try going to the bjj pan ams or the worlds and ask some bb's what they call it. see how many call it the "bolt lock/bermuda triangle" lol

  • Something you've obviously done I'm sure.

    Try a dictionary.

  • thanks for your confidence in me. keep reading that awesome dictionary of yours

  • Oh man that a good one. I need to practice that.
