  • Where did you get the skirts or what type of skirts are they?? There official name?? Please and thank you

  • Bellydance isnt a Gypsy dance...

  • SUGOIEDESUH. BEAUTIFL

  • SUGOIEDESUH. BEAUTIFL

  • why peaple call this dance ,,gipsy dance,,??? this is never gipsy dance...!

  • They dance like indians. Even dresses also.

  • I happen to think they did very well. I've learned belly dance and I will say, it's pretty difficult to be graceful like they were (especially if youre me). I think they danced beautifully. Way to go girls!

  • gipsys dont dance belly dance this is arabic and iran kurd egypt dance gipsys music is a mix of flamengo and russian music and chardas

  • They aren't Gypsies and this isn't Gypsy dancing. Romani (Gypsies are brown skinned and wouldn't dress like this. They are Goriya (pale skinned ladies) doing evening dance classes and putting a performance on to show friends and family how wonderful they think they are. Romani are a proud culture who have their own ways, dress code and dances and they don't need bored housewives wrongfully trying to represent them. Please change the title to show some respect to a complete race of people.

  • There are many types of belly and gypsy dance.

  • wtf how r they gypsies isn't that belly dancing?

  • beautiful, ladies! congratulations!

  • beauty

  • I want the green skirt. ;-; I'm in search of one right now. Sad day.

But like many have said, your dancing is wonderful and you are all very gorgeous. Keep it up. :D

  • I adore those skirts. If I ever get married I'm getting a skirt exactly like them.

To everyone saying that these girls are fat, they're probably in better shape than you'll ever be sitting on your computer and bashing people for their appearance :)

  • this s not gypsy at all...but is cute

  • nice, but this is not gipsy dance.

  • Very nice dancing! Beautiful!

  • THIS replaced the annual Peoria bowling alley class reunion?

Last one to RSVP gets ten years submarine duty!

  • Is about the tradition culture and dance not the fat some morons don't get that

  • pekne supr

  • loved this!!! :D :D :D

  • it looks good if a woman is fit not fat or skinny and got good moves yeeah

  • Who the heck thought that these girls were fat??? They are no where near fat-they are gorgeous! And yes, it does look better when you are not stick thin so you can see the movement! But of course, the beauty of belly dance is that ALL women can and should do it! : )

This is actually fusion style belly dance, but it is called a "Gypsy Dance" because of the skirt work they are doing.

I think it is a great performance!

  • Nice dance! :)

  • nice. but, why it's called "gypsy dance"?

  • This reminds me of the Egyptian girl the stepdaughter of Herod who danced for Herod.

  • real tresh...and i know,what i am talking

  • Very hypnotic.

  • screw the gypsies

  • beautiful dance! what´s the song´s name??

really liked your outfits and dancing :)

  • Wonderful job, girls!! You are so beautiful and you know what you are doing. Only thing is, I am not sure the music matches. You need something to fit your fantastic tribal style more. But well done! I enjoyed your performernace!!! Inspiring!!! did you make your costumes?

  • It's called FUSION for a reason!!!

    Wonderful job, ladies!

roberta, oq é a saída de vcs???

    mto bom!!!!!!

    love

    xucrutz

  • I personally think the dance is very nice but set to the wrong music, they are dancing in tribal fusion-flamenco motions with belly dancing music.. bit odd.. But I prefer rhythmic drums and fiddle. The whole routine would of looked brilliant if only set to a higher pace of music. But very nice non-the less.

  • LOL, give me your tears gypsies!

  • No, this is NOT any kind of traditional Romani (Gypsy) dance. This is fanciful tribal fusion -- very well done. Please do not detract from your lovely performance by misrepresenting your presentation. Please show some respect for other people's cultures and traditions.

  • @hurricanefire good point, but this could be from any form of the European gypsies who's culture more stems from the Moorish gypsies that came up from Africa. Even the Romania gypsies (not Roma) follow more this look and movement. The word gypsy means more then just the one people of Roma but now domains over many different 'gypsy' cultures from medieval Europe to modern day America.

  • Sorry, but Roma/Sinti people have their own beautful authentic dances and these dances involve more than simply putting on a full skirt. (Some costume consist of shalvar and not skirts.)

Suggest you contact Ian Hancock or another Romani activist and try to understand their perspective.

  • @hurricanefire and continued, I don't believe the title bears any offense but that they would be proud to bear the title gypsy whether from Roma or from the European clans.

  • the one in blue is really good...i want to learn how to do this

  • Although, having said that ... Gypsies origionally came from India in the 11th or 12 centure (I think it was) ... the name Gypsy is derived from Egyptian (which is where they said they came from). The gypsies are the origional creators of Flamenco. So, in a sense I suppose you could call this Gypsy Dance, although currently I believe this would be classified as Arabe-Flamenco.

  • No, this is not a gypsy dance ... this is Arabe-Flamenco ...

  • I commented earlier as I love this video! Just wanted to say again.

  • It's not a gypsy dance. Please change your title.

  • boring ....

  • well i am a gypsy and this dance its not what they say i think its arabien are somthing

  • If you want this version of ya chebba bent bladi, it's by Alabina and its called 'eshebo.'

  • could somebody send me this song please???cuz i cant find it anywhere=(

  • ya this isn't gypsy dancing, its belly dancing ridiculous ppl! jeez!

  • this looks more like a belly dance..not a gipsy dance..if you want to see a really gipsy dance watch this movie : "gadji dilo" ..it is a movie about gipsy people, a little bit of their culture, in their place..trust me..i live in Romania and i saw a lot of gipsy's dances, and how they live

    enjoy the movie!

  • sorry..the name of this movie is "gadjo dilo"

  • it's ok... da only decent dancr is da blue 1.

  • LOVE LOVE LOVED THIS! Great choreography!

  • this audio track called "ya chebba bent bladi" by cheb khaled.

  • What album I can't find this on Itunes. Thank you

  • Love the music and the dancers. Great, colorful costuming, too.

  • arent they like, tranvesites?

  • hmm thats thats far from gypsy...call it belly dance

  • what would this kind of music be called? flamenco?

  • Great entertainment, keep on dancing.

  • this is a gypsy fusion dance that uses many references from flamenco to bellydance!

  • Any Information regarding audio track?

  • well, that's true, exept for that girl in blue.

  • theme song?

  • This looks more like Gypsy-Style/American tribal dancing. I also agree with some of the comments here, the girls have good moves but i'm not picking up any emotion from them. Though it could be because the camera is not focusing well on their faces.

I'm far from a professional dancer but studying videos of them helps me progress in all areas.

  • OMG!!! The song is really badly sung!!! The original one is "chebba, chebba" by Cheb Khaleb.... Otherwise the dance is OK, but yeah, it could have been better... authentic Gipsy dances have a little something you don't find here, sadly... but the dancers are still GREAT!

  • if you really knew much about belly dancing you would understand that the best belly dancers do not have flat stomachs, nor are they thin or very slim because being too thin while belly dancing ruins the intricate motion and illusions that are created by the fat in the stomach region...when you're skin is too tight it looks as if there is nothing moving, so it's actually good in belly dancing to have a little extra meat on your body. it looks cooler, not referring to this video, but in general.

  • @Not2008Me Belly dance is for everyone... Slender people as well! Everyone dances in their own way and it is all unique...

  • @Xanubi i think you should read my comment again lol. i never said it wasn't for slender ppl as well i was just correcting the person who was calling these ladies fat and trying to give them a small dose of knowledge...of course anyone can belly dance...i never said it wasn't so ;-)

  • @Not2008Me I saw a gypsy girl at a greek festival belly dance and she was skinny as a rail and she danced amazingly

  • @PrincessofDarkness79 I'm sure she was, I wasn't saying that slim ppl can't dance...I was simply making a statement lol

  • @Not2008Me You said its better for you to be bigger to be a belly dancer. Belly dancing is for all shapes and sizes.

  • @PrincessofDarkness79 ONCE AGAIN I NEVER SAID IT WAS NOT FOR ALL SHAPES AND SIZES! LOL, DON'T GET BENT IN A PICKLE..I WAS SIMPLY GIVING MY OPINION AND OPPOSING THE OTHER COMMENT OF A PERSON WHO WAS BEING RUDE CALLING THESE WOMEN FAT AND SUCH....OBVIOUSLY MY COMMENT IS RATED THE HIGHEST, SO PPL AGREE; HOWEVER SKINNY PPL ARE MORE THAN WELCOME I NEVER SAID THEY WERE NOT. I'M NOT THE QUEEN OF BELLY DANCERS LOL...EVERYONE IS FREE TO ENJOY. HONESTLY ;-)

  • @Not2008Me I know what you said and i agree too. Whoever talked about these women's bodies is an ass

  • Why would you say real belly dancers are not fat? Maybe cuz the "fat" ones usually don't wanna perform (to avoid hearing comments like yours). Since these girls are performing as a group then they have to focus on remembering the moves more than if they were performing one by one. And in order to BECOME a professional you must be a beginner first! Don't think the arabic dancers never practise or learn from each other. They do. My point is, don't judge others so easily!

  • woow thats interesting =D

  • yep this dance have nothing to do with gipsy,s its a shame if gipsy dress like that

  • One of my ancestors was a gypsy =)

  • Agreed, albatzigana.

It is annoying that people continue to link bellydancing to Roma. It would me marime for a Romni to display themselves like that.

    Bellydancing is not Roma.

  • Some bellydance students study Roma dancing and incorporate movements (not that this group is doing that) but none of them that I know really refer to it as 'gypsy' or Roma dancing; they say it is modern bellydance, and that they have studied Roma and Indian dance, etc.

  • I have no problem with people who do that.

There is this one group on youtube that deleted my comment and blocked me for saying one word...

    "Gadje."

They put themselves forth as "Gypsies" and that they deleted that word and blocked me shows that they are, indeed, pretending to be us.

  • I was reading up on the history of bellydance and there are like several theories on it's orgins. One of them is that bellydancing was started by gypsies that left india and settled in Egypt by the Ghawazee river. Those gypsies are called the Ghawazee gypsies. There are alot of similarities between belly dancing and the way gypsies dance today in India.

  • agree with you :)

  • there is gypsy style belly dance just as there is tribal and many other versions. It is not gypsy cause of the skirt.

  • uhm isn't that what i agreed with? I know that it isn't, i'm a gypsy myself, so I know it as well.

  • In my Vitsa it is marime for Romni to display the midriff like that. We have a form of bellydance but it does not resemble this. It is truly beautiful, not that this kind is not... it can be very lovely.

The clothes are all wrong, as you say, as well.

  • Dressing like this is for a Sintetsa verrrry marhime!!! My father and brothers would drag me off the stage if i was dressed like that!!!

Besides I see no fire, no soul in their dance.

Technique can be learned, ojos de lupa one has or hasnt, you cant learn that!! Petronella

  • Actually this version is by Ishtar Alabina and is called Eshebo though the original is by Cheb Khaled and is called Chebba

  • Oi I wish I knowledge the name from the musical

  • can somebody tell me this music selection? Love this performance you ladies rock !

  • The name of the song is Eshebo.

  • can somebody tell me this music selection? Love this performance you ladies rock !

  • woow...great...i like this dance very much! :*

  • Nice camera work with the man's head in the bottom middle. Name this "Dancing on Man's Head."

  • lovely ladies

  • this is half flamenco and half belly dancing just like the song and just like the singer is

  • Love this choreography and song...it's my current addiction. Your hand movements are beautiful. Makes me wish to be able to study with you. :)

  • Song is Eshebo, artits is Alabina.
