If the Government is going to impose demands on the auto industry i.e. Emission standards, fuel economy standards, safety standards and on and on and on, all of which raise the price of vehicles, then they should be prepared to help the industry out when the economy tanks, and who's fault is that I ask?
If U.S. automakers didn't pay their workers an average of $29.25 per hour (plus huge pensions and benefits) to make gas-guzzling junk cars, then they wouldn't need our tax money. Most Americans don't make anywhere near $29.25 per hour--so why should we hand over our hard-earned money to auto workers?
