How long does the Chapter 7 Process take?

i have a question i took out a personal bank loan for a car everything was ok until i got medically discharged from the army. now im stuck with a huge loan that suppose to be paid off in 10 years as of right now im collecting unemployment. and going to school. they just keep harassing me on the phone about legal situations and i have other bills to care for like my family, house, heat, etc.. should i file for bankrupt?

My only question is lets say in my case i have my family car still paying i have a car for my wife in my name paid and a small pickup for work , how will a chapter 7 wipe my debit (Credit card ) and not lose anything i have , as well as on my house will they come in an refiance and take the equity out???? You have many questions. You can keep items that you are current on as long as there is not to much equity in the item we are discussing. If your income is low enough to stop you from having to pay back then your wages will not be garnished.

Stop worrying so much! The creditors will harass you by phone every day but it will probably be months before any of them try to actually take action against you. If you don't own a house or properties or have stock or bonds etc, then there's not much they can do except get a judgement in court against you. Even after they get the judgement,they cant't make you pay if you don't have anything or don't have a job.File bankruptcy after a creditor initiates a suit against you in court or even later.
