Could you please tell me the type of clear resin you use. I tried using diamond glaze for a similar project but it is not drying in the jar. I have left the top off and everything. Thank you in advance.
@Anolla210 Any clear 2-part resin will work for this, they cure via a chemical reaction. I use one that is designed for use in silk flower arrangements. The problem with diamond glaze is that it's an air dry product and you just can't get enough air flow in the jars for it to dry out totally.
@claymaker09 The resin actually makes them look bigger than they are, I just wiggled them into the jars, I did mix some sculpey bake and bend into the premo to give a little flexibility to limbs.
You've probably answered this before but what type or brand of clear resin do you use to make the water effect? I've seen a lot of people use it and I've been dying to know. Also does it harden or stay liquid/gel like? any info would be awesome!
P.S. Your sculptures are sooo good! I went to your website and I was amazed. You're very talented =^-^=
yeah, i know that there are those things. But i would NEVER come up doing it as necklaces XD i have one of those small jars and i was thinking, what i could to with the polimerclay and put it into that jar..first i thought of small jelly beans...but now i now it! a small alien baby! XDD nah, im kidding, im too scared to do this :P
haha ok ^^ thanks. and great creations by the way! ^^ did u come up with it yourself? with those jars, i can certainly freak or gross some people out XD
I did come up with the idea myself to do them as necklaces however specimen jars are nothing new. The inspiration is scientific specimens preserved in alcohol or formaldehyde.
did u just put water then into the jars? and if i make a baby XP forexample and glacier it, will it be ok, if I put it like that into the water? or will the colour come out?
It's not actually water in the jars but a clear resin that sets up hard. Water might damage a polymer clay piece after a while but I'm not sure, it would almost certainly ruin paint, not to mention the possibility of mold or bacteria growing in the water.
were did you get the test tube type things from

Maybe you would like to try Preciosa components in your designs? You can view their website on Facebook, it would be worth a look !
