I just tried it and its not too bad. Looking at the notes with a tuner xxxxoo is a little flat, but thats one of the holes I drilled so filing it out (or using a tapered reamer on it very gently) should bring it up to pitch. Its an interesting experiment. My idea is to turn a C whistle into a D with an extra hole at the bottom.
I would be very interested to hear how you make out converting a C to a D7.
