Im polish i live in the states but i love my country poland and i must say enlish people are awesome much respect to england and all english/polish Riders out there
far out, I'm from Australia never been to the UK but I'm familiar with many of these locations I thought they were all fairly far apart, but they are basically next door to one another
awesome sound! Gixxers are the best sportsbikes. Though I'm about to sell my 750 - want something with a little more grunt on the lower end so I'm looking at Daytonas 955 post-2002. I hope you don't mind if I ask this - but why do UK bikes tend to have such low mileage and so many owners? Saw an ad for a Daytona, less than 15k miles and already 3 owners. Where I live this means something's wrong. Is it the same in UK or is there another reason?
@VisualIDZ I was close to getting a Daytona 675 before I settled on the GSX-R. This only had 4500 miles on it when I bought it - that's 750 miles a year! I don't understand it either why you would buy a sports bike and never use it. In London a lot of people put their sports bikes away in winter and use a commuter or scooter. Also when you live in a city like London you never have to travel far so you don't clock up mileage.
@IgWannA2 Many thanks for your answer! I know some cases of people having over-estimated themselves, bought a powerful bike, had a scare and then put the bike in the garage/barn and never looked at it again. Or for some other reason. Myself I put 10,000 km on mine in one year (August to August) and loved every meter of it (except for those made in rain). Let me tell you it was a BIG adjustment to go from a classic/veteran ('79 Goldwing) onto a modern sportsbike, lol.
@VisualIDZ Yeah maybe some people just can't handle the power! I went straight from a 15hp 125cc to this 127hp beast, and really it just took a few days to get used to. Now I feel very confident on it. The power is only there when you want to use it so as long as you aren't twitchy on the throttle it should move like any other bike. I would say it's not ideal for big cities just because it's not happy going slow, so I'm constantly clutching.
@IgWannA2 cont... out of curiosity... did you have to get your mods to your bike homologized (acquire Certificat of Conformity)? From what I hear UK is pretty lax about these things, but here we have to have every non-original part homologized... for the sole reason of getting our money of course. Still, it's a pita cause there are so many great things that one can't do to a bike...even changing the exhaust pipe with an aftermarket is a trial and pretty uncertain and the fines are pure criminal
@VisualIDZ I'm not sure about that. I don't think it's as strict here, you can change the exhaust yourself as long as it isn't too loud, although mine is loud as hell :]
@IgWannA2 Thanks 4 all ur answers, man and I agree,2 handle such beast u must have your head sortened, not ur wrist. My 1st bike was a Virago so I got used 2 low speeds and, when transited to the Goldwing and later on the Gsxr, never had desire for fast-didn't feel the need to prove myself to any+the fines are horrible. Was always more of a tourer than a sports-tourer and surprisingly Gixxers are excellent at that 2,put hundreds of km in one day and got off the bike fresh.Enjoy your bike and ride safe
@VisualIDZ because its always pissing down with rain here lol, dont get much chance to go out on them. if your like me then they buy a bike in summer, then get fed up in winter then sell.
