Guns are not illegal in Germany but require license for possession which is not easy to get. AR15 and SL8 semiauto rifles and many handguns are legal in Germany and Germans had universal draft until last year. Many reservists have the SL8 which is the civillian version of their service rifle.
I hope you guys gave Alex a rundown on gun safety rules before you stuck a loaded firearm in his hands. His muzzle was getting awful close the to cameraman after he unloaded that pistol. Always treat a firearm as if it were loaded, savvy?

A gun is a multi purpose tool, they are really cool.
You can use them for sports, you can hunt with them, and you can use it for self defense in a bad situation (someone breaks into your house). They are cool to collect too. And shooting, is actualy a safe sport if you folow the safety rules.

@Cappl Personally, I've always found the dirty and dangerous parts of guns their most attractive features (However I would say guns are beautiful and not ugly). Perhaps it's a bit fatalistic, but without their danger guns would be no fun. I mean, take the deadliness out of a gun and what do you get? A nerf gun, that's what. i think in trinidad we have to be 21 to get ur gun license, but people mostly get them illegally, and keep them, most people have it for safety reasons, nobody goes shooting here like jim does, looks like fun though, i'd like to shoot my text books
You can get any gun to and extent though. at age 18 you can buy any rifle or shotgun. Age 21 you can buy pistols. they do a background check on you for all purposes unless you're buying from a private seller. For example I could sell one of my friends a gun without a background check. For fully automatic guns and suppressors and stuff like that you need a class 3 license if I'm not mistaking. That costs a lot more and you have to have an extensive background
Sorry, posted before I finished. You have to have an extensive background check from the FBI. But guns of that nature tend to be very very expensive. I can say this My family has at least 20 guns in the house. In safe's of course. We do hunt and target shoot. I feel that responsible people who do have guns are getting beaten down because of people who get guns illegally and use it to cause harm. It doesn't matter what restrictions they put on guns, the criminals will have a gun.

AC (alternating current) was invented by Nikola Tesla, a Serbian-American, not a Polish person. Penicilin was not invented, it was discovered by a British person. But the first production of synthetic penicilin on an industrial scale was by Americans.
Lots of stuff was invented by Germans, of course. But for the last 100 years or so the US has invented WAAAAAAAYYYY more important stuff than anyone else.

Ganz deiner Meinung. Diese Rumballerei ist einfach bescheuert. Aber das erzaehl mal den Amerikanern... wie man ja hier in dem Comments sehen kann. Das gehoert in den USA zur "Kultur" und ist ja sogar offiziell ein "Recht". Daher glaube ich kaum, dass sich das Gesetz bald aendern wird. Ich habe in beiden Laendern gelebt und bin 100% gegen Waffen - wie wohl die meisten Europaer.

They can be fun, like toys.
A gun is a multi purpose tool, they are really cool.
You can use them for sports, you can hunt with them, and you can use it for self defense in a bad situation (someone breaks into your house). They are cool to collect too. And shooting, is actualy a safe sport if you folow the safety rules.

So your saying if a guy broke into your house, you would go up to him and shake his hand and say, "thanks for coming"? Even if he had a weapon?
Now if he does not have a weapon, then you can just point it at him and that should scare him away.

Oh and as for cops. They are unreliable. If someone actualy boke into my house and was determined to do something to me, it would take them 15+M to get here. By then the criminal would have done what he wanted. I don't like thiefs, I don't like rapist, and i defenatly don't like people who kill innocent people.

Even my moms work. There is a guy who has a gun hidden, just incase.... But they only take it out if the robber starts shooting...

@FcK2420 Yea, they will probably not use them, but it's just incase. You can get a conceald carry licence when your 21 in some states.
Probably all my neighbors own guns, which is probably why it's peaceful out here.
I personaly just like target shooting. I only have one gun in my collection, but im sure it's going to get bigger. But I just started.
It's a sport. It's even in the olympics and it's safe if you folow safety rules. And it's lots fun, i bet you would even like it.

There are "Gun Free" zones, where you are not allowed to have guns in that area. Like the mall and schools and areas like that. But like in privetly owned buissness, if the owner allows you then it's ok.
Believe it or not, places in US where gun laws are stricter, crime goes up.
It's actualy nice here, i lived here 8 years, i have never been shot at, im still living.

@Cappl Personally, I've always found the dirty and dangerous parts of guns their most attractive features (However I would say guns are beautiful and not ugly). Perhaps it's a bit fatalistic, but without their danger guns would be no fun. I mean, take the deadliness out of a gun and what do you get? A nerf gun, that's what. The same argument can be applied to any risky pastime. Take the danger out of parkour and what do you get? NORMAL WALKING, not exactly a thrilling prospect.

i think in trinidad we have to be 21 to get ur gun license, but people mostly get them illegally, and keep them, most people have it for safety reasons, nobody goes shooting here like jim does, looks like fun though, i'd like to shoot my text books

You can get any gun to and extent though. at age 18 you can buy any rifle or shotgun. Age 21 you can buy pistols. they do a background check on you for all purposes unless you're buying from a private seller. For example I could sell one of my friends a gun without a background check. For fully automatic guns and suppressors and stuff like that you need a class 3 license if I'm not mistaking. That costs a lot more and you have to have an extensive background

Sorry, posted before I finished. You have to have an extensive background check from the FBI. But guns of that nature tend to be very very expensive. I can say this My family has at least 20 guns in the house. In safe's of course. We do hunt and target shoot. I feel that responsible people who do have guns are getting beaten down because of people who get guns illegally and use it to cause harm. It doesn't matter what restrictions they put on guns, the criminals will have a gun.

And that in Dallas, Texas, if you have a handgun, you HAVE to wear it in a visible holster. ANd you know what their crime rate is? Marginal.
