  • heheheheh anche io mi divertivo con il mio Commodore 64, ma poi mi si è rotto D:

  • Wow! fantastic! You have got also some commodore computers xD !

  • NIce! Love the Doors... (893165009, you're a asshole)

  • @swanny2070 Thanks for your appreciation.

893165009 can break balls to people somewhere else as he's permanently banned from my profile and my videos ;-)

  • like that bit at the end :P any chance on a tutorial?

  • @WESSERPARAQUAT This actually is meant to be a tutorial on how to obtain a Connie-like sound on a SY-77, in the video description I also written how to build the patch. Well, it's still far from a real Connie, I know, but with a guitar amp with a bit of overdrive the sound become much closer.

  • you're not even doing the Chromatic scale right.. Its First. then third finger.

  • @893165009 Well? Where's the problem? Did you read the video's title? I'm just showing how I obtained a particular sound on a synthesizer, so I'm not playing a tune or whatsoever requiring precise fingering. So tell your opinion about the video's subject or simply don't post useless comments like the one you written. Very simple, man.

  • @mima14031985 Not useless if you're going to play piano play it properly.

  • @893165009 Wow attention folks, there's a piano teacher here, play with the right fingering or he'll get angry.

For your information, I'm taking piano lessons since 3,5 years and I know what's the correct fingering for a chromatic scale. This is only a DEMO of a SOUND (not a SONG), where no fingering nor correct playing is required. If you want to see correct fingering just go to see the other videos in my profile.

And as on your profile there aren't videos of you playing, SHUT THE FUCK UP!

  • @mima14031985 ATTENTION FOLKS WE GOT A BAD PIANO PLAYER HERE ATTENTION!!! its thumb then middle finger. The finger you use to fuck your boy friend.

  • @893165009 AHAUHAUHAUH I offended the troll (you). Just what I wanted to do. Justice is done!

Now suck some big african cock and instantly vaporize yourself out from my videos (from the world it would be even better my friend!).

And let me continue to get you angrier by notifying you that I'm going to block your account, so you'll be no longer able to answer this comment. And I won't erase anything, so everyone could realize what kind of being you are simply by reading this little "story"

  • @mi26e4u WTF what?

  • Was ist das??

  • Similar sound, but it doesn't compare to a real continental.

  • I know. I didn't claimed that my emulation can be compared to a real Connie. If you would read the video description you would discover that :-)

  • In the Oscillator section, how do you tune each individual operator? I tried to follow your instructions but each time I changed the ratio I wound up changing the whole element and, hence, the whole voice.

Also, do you have any other SY77 recipes you'd care to share? ;) (I've created six myself but I'm still a relative noob.)

  • @thefonz003: once you gone in the Oscillator section you have to select each operator using the "operator select" pushbuttons located on the fronpanel's right side. As you press one of these 6 buttons you select a single operator and you can change its parameters. Take care also to choose the right algorithm: go to the Algorithm section and select the 45th algorithm.

If you give to me your e-mail address I can send a dump of my sy77's memory. I'm also still a novice programming this synth ;-)

  • you deserve a conti after going through all that work.

  • Thanks for your kind comment man ;-)

  • (not trying to be obnoxious) the sy 77 is no longer made. would you know of any kbd in current production that can nail a vox?

  • Hi, there are the Nord Electro 3 and Nord C1 from Clavia (I'll buy the Electro in the months to come), which replicates ACCURATELY the organ's behaviour. No sampling, the organ is real-time synthesized. The Electro and C1 does also Farfisa and obviously Hammond organs (with Leslie), and the Electro also have some nice Rhodes, Wurlitzer etc sampled in it. But these keyboards are expensive. With a bit of luck you can find a SY 77 on eBay for little price (mine was about 300$ in quasi-mint state)

  • whoa. not bad. that vox sound is hard to come by w/o a real one. that's a good sim. you had to work it out from scratch? roland's "60's organ" sims are ATROCIOUS.

  • Hi, thanks for your appreciation. Yes i done it from scratch, after studying how the harmonic drawbars are configured in the Connie I programmed a patch that replicates that behaviour. The main difference is on the oscillators waveform, which on the Vox is a squarewave, but on the SY77 operators there's not a pure square wave (but there are other 16 waveforms with some approaching it)

  • that's brilliant. It's cool you could do that. The Nords are expensive, and I have a pathological hatred of the hippy-dippy, Blood Sweat and Tears, draggy Hammond sound.

  • I have a few Vox Continentals. If anyone is looking for an inexpensive keyboard that can replicate the Vox sound check out the Casio WK series. I bought a new WK-3800 last week at Sam Ash for $300. It has a drawbar organ section with all the harmonics found on a Vox. With some tweaking it comes incredibly close. You can also add sustain to simulate a Gibson G-101 like on "Waiting for the Sun". My expensive Kurzweil can't even do that.

  • Hmm... I don't like so much these cheap Casio keyboards. I have a Casio Digital Piano CDP-100 in my keyboard rig, but it sounds so artificial and plastic, I'll replace soon with a more quality piano, when I'll have some money. Maybe a matter of taste, but I don't like them :)

  • I had the FIRST Casio in 1982 I think. Only 4 preset nonadjustable voices, but one was an organ that had an acceptable 60s-friendly, transistory sound. Kind of like the missing link betw a Farfisa and a Vox? lol

  • i have a casio wk3000. how can i put the sound of a vox or a gibson?? thanks!

  • In the WK Drawbar Organ section disable the Rotary Speaker effect. Use 16' 8' 4' 2' 2 2/3' 1' and 1 3/5' which are all the footages available on a Vox Continental. The last four footages are controlled by one drawbar on the Vox so all should be set at the same level. Go into the synth section and select Sine as the Modulation waveform. Set Rate at about 15. Use the Mod wheel to control Vibrato Depth. Use Release to simulate Gibson organ sustain. The Gibson has only 16' 8' 4' and 2 2/3' footages.

  • ohhh!! thanks, i will try it!!

  • però!! ero un tantino scettico....ma devo dire che la timbrica, a mio modesto parere, c'era!complimenti.....si ottengono sempre ottimi risultati quando ci si impegna con tanta passione.

  • Grazie! :D

Dovresti sentirlo attaccato all'ampli Fender...

  • miss my old sy77 :(

  • You can get another one on eBay. Sometimes there are good deals with this keyboard. I got mine for about 300$ (200 euros) and, while having some scratches and normal wear, it's still working perfectly

  • Thanks, I've been looking like mad, just posted an ad on gumtree, hoping that someone wishes to part with theirs... I'd happily take a SY99 too :D.

  • I've got a twin manual Continental 2 that really should be being played more than it is. It needs a few contact bars cleaning but is in pretty good nick and has an almost unused bass pedal board...offers??

  • that was nice! i'd love a vox organ but they're so hard to find, expensive and delicate. I'd love to have the sound on a cheaper keyboard. i tried the nord combo organ but i didn;t like it

  • Hi, thanks for your appreciation. Yeah, the Vox Continental's sound it's very difficultly replicable on other keyboards, and I think that the Nord Combo (which it's specifically designed to emulate organs) can anyway do the job better than my SY 77, which it's a general-purpose FM synthesizer. However, thanks again for your comment :)
