I'm interested to hear how using the Canadian dollar would affect Iceland's competitiveness and exports to Europe.
Seems like the CAD could be a cheaper, stable option that promotes Icelandic exports to Europe.
Furthermore, the Bank of Canada is among one of the most conservative and tightly run central banks in the world. We follow a strict policy of 3% inflation, unlike the US Federal Reserve which balances inflation with unemployment.
Plus CAD dollars are nicer looking than the Euro :)
im Canadian, i don't mind i like Iceland, planning on going there someday before they blow up from volcanos or glaciers melt, i want to see whats it like to drink water straight from rivers. iceland can adopt our dollar as long as iceland doesnt drag us down too much which they shouldnt since their economy is less than 1 percent of ours. hehe, will also make my trip to iceland much less expensive!

As a result the Bank of Canada exercises much less discretion than it's U.S. counterparts at the Federal Reserve.
Both economies also seem to sync with the prices of natural resources, further making the case for the CAD.
