I agree that pocket is nice. Pocket don't mean that there are no fills or rolls at all. The problem comes when you sacrifice the integrity of the songs by placing your chops all over the place. Not once did he ever compromise the groove in this song. And almost all of his fills were segways into another part of a verse or another part of the song.

It's crazy how since i've been playing in churches its been kind of this lopsidedness (is that a word lol). You either have sick musicians, and crappy singers, or great vocalists, and subpar musicians. Tho i will say there are alot with both killer musicians and insane vocalists
The dynamics of the vocals do not compare or match up with the caliber of the musicians. In my opinion the drummer is good, but a pocket song deserves a pocket beat, and the band intro is way too long. 2min. plus a guitar solo But thats a problem we have in the industry where musicians are louder and more center point than the vocalist. tight work.
