So to hear all the PC problems with the DOS version, but as the info box says truthfully, the C64 version looked just as good and had the wonderful SID sounds, so I bought the C64 version when I found it on ebay. looking at this video the OP is absolutely correct in that the C64 graphics, to all intents and purposes, looks just like these - and of course none of the grating sound we're hearing here!
The tandy flickers, I know. I think it has to do with the dos version. I'm working to resolve it. I found my old version, but I'm trying to get past an issue with it asking for 'the game disk'
Thanks for the hint but still can't get it to work ... If I turn on Tandy under 'Video Card' the screen starts flickering wildly, stays on the DOS start screen and still the PC speaker sound plays.
I've just had a look into DOSBox. If I turn Tandy on (it's on auto by default) the game still uses PC Speaker, if I turn Tandy on and PC speaker off, I get no sound.
@Five5six Tandy sound is soooooo superior. Want to know something funny? I recently got a tandy up and running again, put sentinel worlds on it and had to hack the game files to get it to run in tandy mode. Whatever though, it is still badass like it used to be. It looks way better on an RGB monitor too.
Can't find any videos of Hard Nova on YouTube. :(

Posted a video response, found out how to set it up in dosbox 0.73
Change the following to JUST the following:
[dosbox]
language=
machine=tandy
captures=capture
memsize=2
[speaker]
tandy=on
tandyrate=22050

It's a bug, in order to turn on tandy sound, you have to have it play with Tandy Graphics mode on.

Should have used tandy 3 voice sound.

Yes, but AFAIK the game only had PC Beeper sound.

I may be wrong, but I actually had it for my tandy TL computer. The sound used the Tandy sound.
I've been trying to find a copy of it that works with Dosbox for years, since my original freaks out and the online version doesn't.
