The great Chet BACKER WITH YOUR WONDERFUL MUSIC IS ALWAYS IN OUR HEARTS AND INCREASINGLY excites us, Thank you Chet for tre existed in this crazy world.
@zuzazla It's kept me going, when I thought I shouldn't even try to wake up in the morning. It's one those gifts that come out no where and Man am I forever thankful. I love jazz
the phrase, "But not for me" describes me perfectly. Everyone around me seems to happy, in love, or a good job, or something like that. but me....well. I'm still blue and a little sad some things that could have been are not.
@pwnmonkeyisreal My 2 cents for you--feeling a little blue is normal, understandable, and you can indulge it. A bit. But there are truths that go beyond those things you wrote about. You were created by someone more awesome than any fleeting emotion you experience here. If you were to aim your attention in that direction, you may find more unexplored territory to ignite a fire of passion inside you that makes life exciting again.
@pwnmonkeyisreal same, but not only has chet baker broken my heart with his music, but he also keeps me going, favorite jazz musician, he went through a lot and some i can relate to. It's amazing the way music can make you feel, right?
@pwnmonkeyisreal same, but not only has chet baker broken my heart with his music, but he also keeps me going, favorite jazz musician, he went through a lot and some i can relate to. It's amazing the way music can make you feel, right?
Chet's renditions are nearly always the most tasteful and effective. So much more is conveyed by him in his understated style; it makes one really understand the heart-break.
I love hard rock, punk and so on, but I think these kind of songs are really touching and people should listen to these kind of genre. I mean, this song is really wonderful!
I'm in a metal band and live for that kind of music, but this... well, it takes you places no rock music can take you. There's so much feel - movies for the blind. Wonderful stuff that makes me glad to be alive.
He kept asking me if I knew where he could "score some grass" and everytime I said "no" he became more irritated. As he got more and more upset, I actually started to feel relieved. Chet Baker was now angry with me because I refused to drive him around to find drugs, and the way I saw it, that was my "out."
don't the very first notes almost sound like he is going to do taking a chance on love? when i scat and sing with him, even though i really don't know what he looks like or anything, but its a connection, like a love thing in music. i hear some dakota stanton type playing near the end of the tune, do you? sounds like a couple of notes from the late late show.
The looks of Elvis, The talent of Armstrong and a voice like velvet. In our age of over inflated egos and so called "X Factor" wannabes here's a man who truly had it.
@pwnmonkeyisreal They're writing songs of love, but not for me A lucky star's above, but not for me With love to lead the way, I've found more clouds of gray Than any Russian play could guarantee I was a fool to fall and get that way Hi ho, alas, and also lackaday And though I can't dismiss the memory of her kiss I guess she's not for me I was a fool to fall and get that way Hi ho, alas, and also lackaday And though I can't dismiss the memory of her kiss I guess she's not for me

@glolib6 great!!! If you begin learining to play a musical instrument, you can become a great player, because you are so young! I'm a keyboarder, I usually play jazz and I begun playing at 6 years old!
@Aeriskittykat for the record, i'm a singer who plays the saxophone, guitar, piano and trumpet. chet baker along other people are my musical idols but that doesn't mean we can't pay a tribute to them by continuing their legacies.
@watthe199 and me i just put my first song on youtube, Mommo - sometimes im shy, and i play the guitar and sing, i just started and never will probably reach the standards of Chet but I like it....
@Aeriskittykat "His death marked the end of the golden era of music, "where Singers could acually play instruments"
i think any good musician should also be a singer. everyone has a vocal tract. as a music ed major i have to learn how to sing, as well as ear training. im also a trumpet player with finite chop life. its good to be able to get the horn off your face and try something else.
oh dont say so, i for instance respect chet baker very much because i love his music. but i also listen to drum and bass, uk garage and dubstep, a very different genres. so i dont think that the golden era of music ended.
I won't agree to the fact that the golden era of music has ended - there is a lot of innovative talent going on in the world today. But you see, the problem today is that everybody just wants to go crazy at clubs and nobody wants to listen and love.
