First I planned of buying a CW series laptop which had great features in it. But then later they said one of that model in CW Series which I had planned to buy was discontinued. So I was little bit disappointed and bought a new E Series laptop VPCEB16FG which also is a great laptop and similar to the CW series laptops. It had Nvidia graphics card in CW, in E Series it has ATI graphics card.

the only flaw of the CW is it´s battery life....

it lasts for only about 2h 30 ....

Just unboxed my new CW2Z1E. first thing i've noticed is that the fan is not as quiet as imagine as i've learnt from many reviews that cooling is one of the strong points of vaio. but its certainly more quiet than my previous laptop hp dv6 (avoid it at all cost)

My Acer just broke for the 3rd time because of a hardware problem so i now have store credit in Comet of 730 pounds and the Sony CW is 699 so i think i will get this but does it run Windows 7 smooth and fast, does it overheat easy, is the screen quality good, do the keys light up, can i download allot of torrents and watch them on this. Please someone answer all my questions and add any positive or negative things about this laptop. This is the model they have in stock SONY VPCCW1Z4E. thank's

LED, and LED is better by far. LED is the technology that manufacturers use to make screens so thin. It's a lot more energy efficient too.

I just bought mine a few day's ago. It's an LED screen. I would say that it is much better than an LCD. This is a great computer for someone who is looking for portability and something that has enough power to play games.

it has a hdmi output port, so you can watch blu ray on a hd tv using the laptop as a blu ray player. or you can just watch blu ray in standard portably

4 to 6 hours? make it about 2 hours, and thats just using word processing programs, internet surfing, once in a while youtube. Still has really nice specs though. 800 from best buy a month ago :]

The screen is HD. 1366 x 768 is 720p. It isn't Full HD which would be 1920 x 1080.

which is wrong because it is NOT a HD screen. If you wanted to watch in HD you have to connect it to a HD TV using the HDMI port on the laptop. There is an option to get HD screen but it costs a lot.

Well for a little more one could purchase a HP HDX 16 and get a free bluray upgrade, memory upgrade, 1080p HD screen not to mention it comes with a dingerprint scanner!... and for an extra price you can install a backlit keyboard and a HDTV tuner! It also has a Subwoofer free Upgrade to Windows 7... and you can charge with or without the battery plus switch batteries without the laptop shuting off... Should I say more?

hdxt16 is crap it's heavy with 7 lbs, more expensive (with coupons), poor battery life (2 hours max). But Vaio CW series battery life can go up to more than 4 hours max, light, cool, thin, but with no backlit keyboard!

sorry mate, all three computers will be released on Oct 22, as the offcial release of Win 7. I'm a VIP account holder at Ginza Tokyo, also owns a significant amount of SONY stocks, I get informed of EVERY SONY products officialy release about 4 months earlier, and pre-purchase about 2 weeks earlier than retail date. well if it's in Canada, possible, since Canada is SLOW gettin EVERYTHING. but the official world release date for ALL the new Vaios with Windows 7 is Oct 22 (today) along with official Windows 7 launch.
