Korean Navy strategy is about 40% of the Japanese Navy.(total displacement) But Korea has thousands of long range missiles of 1500km~2000km which Japan can not have due to their treaty after the war. So Japan can kick Korea's ass at sea but they just dont have enough Ageis and missile defense on their home land. F-15C, F-15E are the old ones. F-15K(Koreans bought) is way better than other F-15, F-16, FA-18 series. Not as good as F-22 Raptors though, but enough to scare off the North, Chinese and Japanese airforces.

As for the army, Japan is not comparable to Korea. 750000 men in active duty, 3million in reserve services(I belong in this category), another 7 million with military training and secondary reserves. latest K2 MBT's, New IFVs, shit load of missiles, shit load of choppers, shit load of special forces, second largest marines in the world, fifth largest chemical weapon storage so on so forth. As for the Japan...you should look up in google or something.

And XK2 Black Panther has just started its production. And Japanese defence force's power comes from its air and maritime superioirity, which ROKA has not acquired yet. Overall number of fighter planes are alomost even, but for Korea that inlcudes many old-jets from 60's and 70's. And for navy,.. hell ROKN just made one DDG while Japanese already have 3! DDH? Dang, ROKN only has 6 DDHs hello? While Japanes have almost 20!

there f-15j arent slam eagles retard slam eagles are the f-15e(korean) not the f-15c(japanese) and we do have more f-16s than the japanese f-15s 180vs178 from wikipedia and powercorea. plus korea has 60 f-15k which are upgraded from f-15e the latest variants. and most of our f-16s are also an upgrade from normal f-16s and they are block 52. one more thing korea is one of the only 4 countries that have more than 1500 3rd or more generation mbt(main battle tanks)in the world. take that sissy bitch

As a matter of fact, every last one of them has block 32 configuration, although ROKAF has plans to upgrade them to either block 52 or block 60, but that might not happen if they're granted the F-35 Lightning II.

oh, and ROKAF had 40 F-15Ks, not 60. the 20 extra planes you're referring to will be paid for when the KFX-2 program gets passed by the national assembly. about 28 of the first 40 are delivered, so your number is way off.
again, i know the differences between a slam eagle and a japanese 15Js. that's why i compared the japanese ones to our falcons, which are inferior. slam eagles are nice, but ROKAF didn't buy them to fight the japanese eagles. more about anti-ground missions.

As for the airforce, it's as same as the Navy. Korea have latest F15K(long range missile system/most accurate smart bombs) and planing on purchasing F35 by 2015 as well as F22 within 2020. Japan is also planning on purchasing F35 after Isreal. In actual combat Japan can shoot down Korea's latest F15Ks because they are supported by their AWACS but Korea has shit load of ground-air missiles.

Korean Navy strategy is about 40% of the Japanese Navy.(total displacement) But Korea has thousands of long range missiles of 1500km~2000km which Japan can not have due to their treaty after the war. So Japan can kick Korea's ass at sea but they just dont have enough Ageis and missile defense on their home land. I believe it's a balance created to keep two sides peaceful, U.S probably had something to do with it.

They are also using Russian T series as well as RPGs and other light weapons. It would be stupid to comment that S.Korean army is superior to the U.S, Russian, chinese, British or France. F-15C, F-15E are the old ones. F-15K(Koreans bought) is way better than other F-15, F-16, FA-18 series. Not as good as F-22 Raptors though, but enough to scare off the North, Chinese and Japanese airforces.
