  • good fucking tip

  • I usually put some olive oil on it, and it stays well

  • @Gdaiva1 Yep. Works great. Creates a seal.

  • What's the deal?

You cut one onion for ½ avocado?

  • it has to be Red onion?? why the white ones doesn't work??

  • @sharpey3000 I'm guessing a white or brown onion would work but white and brown onions are so strong they will flavor your avocado where as the weaker red onion will not taint the avocado anywhere near as much

  • i think it gonna taste like onion

  • Hey there.. this is the guy in the video. I wasn't aware it was on u-tube.Hadn't seen these comments yet, so I'd like to clarify some points brought up.

    1. when the cells of an onion are ruptured it releases volatile gasses/ sulfenic acid. For some reason, when the gas envelops an avocado it drastically slows down the oxidation process.

    2. yes, it will take on some of the onion flavor. But it's slight, more of a perfume. The pure nutty buttery flavor is still very present.

    Thanks!

  • Hmm.. I usually use lemon juice. Maybe I should try this.

  • 1: the start says: show tit's (what has been heard, cannot be unheard)

2: these advices are shit, nothing helpfull in them

  • it tastes bad anyways

  • @oishiininja "his" theory

  • useful

  • cool

  • wow :) thanks 4 the tip :D

  • that is really interesting

  • Thanks for this awesome tip!

  • how about the smell?

  • Its really a good tip

  • I wonder what the onion did to keep the avacado from browning... Does it have to do with the sulfer?

  • Fascinating!! Day 3 and still lookin' fresh.

  • now the advocade tastes like onion yummmy NOT

  • onion tastes better then rot. :)

  • is this the trick to keep gucamole lookin green

  • i dont really like avocado o-O it has a buttery texture but.. the taste... ew ... =.= and i dont want my avocado to taste like onions o-O

  • yeah but then your guacamole will taste like onions ever think of THAT?

  • Mmm... Onion Sauce.

  • avocado and ham it's the best sandwich!!

  • lol

  • chlorine and water??...

  • That is a great tip, but onion has a tendency to really be absorbed in both smell and flavour by anything it comes in contact with.

I love Avacado and the texture, but I really wouldn't enjoy it tasting like an onion.

Perhaps the use of a red onion elminates that?

  • very cool! but i wonder if it absorbs the onion flavor? i guess if its going to be for guacamole it's ok then.

  • Get some taste buds and season your food. Avocado has fantastic texture and creaminess to it that you basically don't get from non-animal products.

  • avocado has no taste why do people eat this crap ?

  • 'Cause assume onion flavour... =)

  • Huh? Did you ever have a really ripe avocado? It has such a nice, rich, buttery, nutty taste... I love it! Especially with some tarragon-mustard, salt and pepper on a slice of really good austrian rye-bread with caraway. Delicious...

Or as a salad with grapefruit and roasted pecans on a vinaigrette of grapefruit juice, walnut-oil and finely chopped red onions. Awesome!

  • haha i thought i was the only one who thought avocados didnt taste like anything.

  • you got those kinda fruits that you cant/can eat that people put on their tables..for decoration.

  • great tips!
