  • A Glock 26 comes in at the same 20 oz with empty magazine.... 26 oz with fully loaded magazine... The Sig 290 is also the same thickness as the Glock g26/27 sub compacts.... The Glock g26 is 10+1 for a total of 11rds.... the Sig is 6+1 for total of 7rds....+ Glock owner can carry a spare 15rd G19 mag...Glock is striker fired 5lb safe action trigger... the Sig P290 is hammer fired DAO with an external safety.... So it begs the question..what does the Sig P290 do better then the Glock a g26 ?

  • despite what some sources say the kel tec pf9 will weigh in at 14 ounces with an empty magazine not 12

  • when he's holding it you clearly see it's not much thicker than his trigger finger that is NOT thick and 20 ounces HEAVY 1 1/4 lbs really? that's lighter than a subcompact g26 and only 3 ounces more than the ruger lc9

  • @tubevideoguy762 Where does it stop? This is only so much heavier/lighter than this....

People that have carried equipment all day understand and care about weight. It is very small amount, but when there are better alternatives, it is a disadvantage.

  • @Solidgun i just believe the p290 is a better gun than the lc9 period having handled them both in stores and knowing sigs reputation it has tighter fitting parts and is smaller i'll take the minimal weight difference

  • Gun shoots like a dream. But i am not exactly fond of the heavy recoil. I like the slimness of the gun for carrying. Great gun nevertheless.

  • I am a big subcompact fan and im really considering this fine piece of art. The extra weight will jusg make this gun more easier to shoot.

  • Swing..... and a miss!

  • If it's too heavy for you spend some time in the gym and get a stronger strap for your purse "Dude".

  • @asig4me Whenever I read comments like this, I know that this person has not hauled equipment for extended period of time. I understand that this is a subcompact gun, but there is a reason for wanting ounces off of equipment when you have to worry about the other 80 pounds\

  • i'd carry a p290 just for looks tbh. i'd carry a 40 ounce 686 for manliness if open carry was less frowned upon. i think the design of the slide(like glocks) makes it look thicker than it is. its better to carry a gun thats you like than one thats smaller lighter and you dont like it(usually cus you suck at shooting it)

  • I love my PM9. I wanna shoot a side by side with the Sig though

  • For how thick it is, it should carry a greater load. I was thinking about this instead of the PM9. Not no more...

  • That gun is not TOO thick or blocky. I front pocket carry a Glock 27. THAT'S thick and blocky! The Glock 27 is heavier than that.

  • I think his dislike stems from the inherent potential a Sig manufactured gun has. Though I don't think pistol manufacturers really care to listen to a consumer advocate when spending their R&D $ initially. I would think they won't be bothered by a YouTube reviewer no matter how many subscribers think similarly. Personally, I've owned an lc9, pf9, and now a cm9... I prefer the lightweight.

  • Too thick? Have you lost your mind? I've read 15 reviews on this gun & nobody has mentioned it.

  • I see that the Kimber Solo is .995" in width excluding safety control and weighs 17 oz.. The Ruger LC9 is .9" wide and weighs 17.1 oz. A Kahr PM9 is .90" in width and weighs 15.9 oz. The 290 is 1.1" including the slide release and weighs in at 20.5 oz. The Kel-Tec PF9 is the smallest of the group with a .88" width and weighing 12.7 oz. I do know that the Sig is +P rated, but do not know about the other pistols. Width and weight are not everything. Go handle each one and try the triggers, then..

  • I can understand your position on weight to some degree, but that may be offset by increase in comfort of shooting w/ this small pistol. As far as the thickness goes, I respectfully disagree, & believe that you are contradicting your claims about PM9 being a great CC pistol while slamming P290. The PM9, & P290 have EXACTLY the same width of slide & frame per mfr. specs. In addition, PM9 is 15.9 oz w/ mag, which is more than the 12 oz you said it would take for you to tolerate P290 thickness.

  • i must add this to nutns P290 thoughts. the P290 is only 3oz lighter than my G23... P290 is way to heavy for its intended purpose....

  • I have to agree that rule #1 of a gun fight is to have a gun on you. However, is it so heavy and boxy that one would not have it on them? The weight and dimensions give it stability, so it's good weight. What platform would you want to fire 9mm from? Also, 8 round Mags available.

Rule #2 is to have a gun that's worth the weight. Or, to put it another way, have a platform that can hit and incapacitate what you’re aiming at. I see this as a capable platform for that.

    Please reconsider.

  • Hey Nutn, I would appreciate it if you gave the P290 a second look. Sure it weighs more but if you compare the internals I think you would prefer what you see in the SIG. I think you are putting too much emphasis on weight.

If weight is your primary concern I can give you an empty squirt gun that weighs 1 ounce.

  • Certainly not too thick . . . I love the way this pistol shoots, I guess it won't be too bad because I'm to NH in a week! I hope that turn-around time for locals is good . . . Here is a video of my adventures with the SIG P290 . . . still needs some work

  • That's a nice slick pistol.

  • i really dont see how you can compare a crappy made KEL-TEC to this gun

  • Nutnfancy please consider taking this video down and starting over with the p290. Nothing wrong with admitting you made a mistake. I do however respect your opinion I just think your perception of this pistol was off on this particular day.

  • The pm9 is 6+1, not 7+1

  • who was that shooting @ 0:55? Looks like the gun is about to fly out of his hand.

  • What's too thick? Nutnfancy's head is too thick. The SIG P290 is the EXACT same thickness as the Kahr PM-9.

    0.9".

It is thickerhowever than an LCP or BG380, but then it is a 9mm, not a 380. It is the same thickness as the Walther PPS. 0.9".

So what's TOO THICK? The too, or the thick?

  • It looks like a mini USP

  • All about weight and thickness for me seeing as it's always warm weather and T shirts. That's why I no longer carry my Glock and love my Kahrs for EDC.

  • No offense, but I don't care how thick it "looks." The fact is, it's only .9 inches. That's thinner that the g26. It's virtually the same thinness as the ruger LC9. Also, it's only 3 ounces more than the ruger. No, it can't match the kel tec in weight. But it's comparable to a g26 in weight, which many people carry. only factor is the -1 firepower, big deal, get some plus 2 baseplates.

  • LOL! AND- before you all jump on me, I'm almost 40 years old, got my first BB gun when I was 4, my first real gun at 8 years old. I currently own about 40 firearms, in my life over 100, but I end up selling some now and then. And I've shot almost every modern firearm at one point or another, everything from a $30 nickel plated .22 pimp gun in the 1980's, to light/heavy machine guns. Never fired an M61 Vulcan... so if anyone has one, contact me, PLEASE, lol.

  • lmao, sorry, ONE LAST thing guys, I swear! If you are cash strapped, and you want a "cheap" GOOD pistol? Ruger. Ruger makes the best guns for the money in my opinion. For the last 17 years, I've had a Ruger GP100 .357 Magnum in my nightstand. And for only a slight price bump up you can get a Glock. Just saw a Gen 4 Glock 17 at my gun shop today for $500 something. Come on people, spend the few extra bucks for a gun you are betting your LIFE on.

  • Dang it, one last thing gang. I'm a "mid-level" gun snob. Not a total snob, but I avoid certain companies outright, and I'm talking about guns you might have to DEFEND YOUR LIFE WITH. For example, Hi Point. Kel-Tec. Taurus. I'll pass. Sure, you may have one of those that works fine. And yes, "better" companies have turds as well. Just think about this: USN SEALs, and the Secret Service who protect the US President can carry any guns they want. They carry Sig pistols. There is a reason for that.

  • lol, sorry Nutn, you know I love you bro, but I also believe I just saw a vid of you carrying the Kel-Tec PF9 in a leather shoulder holster? The weight of that shoulder holster has got to (roughly, if not more) make up the difference between the P290 and the PF9. And again, I can't imagine trusting a Kel-Tec with my life, man! You have TONS of vids with Kel-Tecs jamming! P290, FLAWLESS out of the box. It's a Sig! Sorry for the rampant postings, lol.

  • Wait, was that your son shooting the Kel-Tec? Hard to tell in the vid. But still, 12.5 oz vs. 20.5? And maybe by design, but the P290 hardly kicks at ALL! Even with +P loads (which the P290 can eat all day, and Kel-Tec doesn't want you to use very much, lol, whaaaa?) I was amazed. I did a few drills shooting as fast as I could, and I was back on target before I could even pull the trigger again. P290 is FANTASTIC to shoot. I have huge hands btw, if this helps anyone.

  • One more thing, my ONLY criticism of the P290 is the mag release button on it sticks out WAY too far. As I just got it this morning, all I have to carry it in is the cheapo plastic paddle holster it came with, which for now is fine. BUT- sitting in my truck I somehow managed to squish and flex the holster to engage the mag release. 10 minutes with a Dremel tool and I removed/shaved enough plastic off of the holster that it is fine now. I'd like to see a low profile mag release or I'll grind it.

  • Just got a P290 today. AWESOME carry pistol. Already put over 150 rounds through it (no problems), cleaned it, now carrying it. Maybe "thick" but not if you ask me. Heavy? Don't even notice it on my belt. And Kel-Tec? I wouldn't trust that thing with my life. And look at how much it kicks at :54 in this vid! I can EMPTY the P290 mag accurately before the second shot of the Kel-Tec and I just got the P290 THIS MORNING! P290 hardly kicks at all! AMAZING little gun, and it's a SIG! Pricey though.

  • Thanks for all of your reviews, brother - you do a fantastic job. I'm foremost a Sig guy myself but carry a Kahr PM9 daily due to its weight and size. I'm not real big on Kel Tecs in general, though. I owned one of their polymer .32s a few years aback and it suffered an internal breakage after just 500 rounds (all S&B factory ammo). Also, I find their polymer to be fragile compared to that of other manufacturers, and can't accept the way most of their guns are held together by screws.

  • Wth are you talking about it's not thick....

  • Too thick? Its the same width as my p238 and somehow I manage to fit that in the front pocket of all my guns.

  • Wow I am surprised the shoot down from the gate on this, I dont think this is as thick as you think, from specs only it very close to many other pistols, yes the weight is a little more than other pistols, but a sub in a Sig, thats like peanut butter and jelly, who cant like that!!!!!

  • good honest review

  • It looks as thick as a kel tec p11.

  • As heavy and almost as wide as a Glock 26 with 4 less rds. No thank you.

  • Man, nobody must shoot their pf9's as much as i have, Or mine were just lemons, I bought a pf9 about 6 months ago, and after about 350 rounds i started getting "light strikes" and researching on the internet, I find out that this is a very common problem. I personally don't think it's acceptable do depend my life on a gun that might just go "click" instead of BOOM. I think i'm gonna check out a Kimber Solo carry when they become more available.

  • 20 ounces does seem heavy without rounds in it, for the size of the frame... My PM40 is like 15, and It is actually taller and longer than the 290, but I guess the weight comes from the "thickness" he is talk ing about. It wouldnt make a difference to me, if it shot as good as my other sig though

  • Without reading 304 comments (as of this writing), has nutnfancy ever addressed the massive criticism he received about his "too thick" comment? It's not significantly thicker than other compacts he claims handle well and hide well so what is it? Obviously the extra weight (over the P238 for example) factored into the equation heavily. Or does the P290 just feel clumsy in the hand? What is it? Got to be some subjective reason for this "too thick" opinion...the tape measure shows otherwise.

  • Sorry to say this but I have to add another negative vote on the p238. I had a newer model, with the first 300 rounds, literally about 50 failed to eject, FMJ or JHP. That's one per magazine... Even after I sent it to sig and they replaced the recoil spring and ejector, it had a FTE once every 75 rounds or so. Sorry, I can't trust my life to something that unreliable. This is also a reason I will never buy a Sig Sauer sub compact gun.

  • @jpap967 ejection problems = grip problems. this is a small, lightweight weapon & a full power cartridge, the grip is very short. the kick in the video = a loose grip & limp wrist. u need a firm, consistent grip & a firm, rigid wrist or the gun won't cycle properly. this is a training issue, u must specifically exercise ur grip & arm to achieve reliable function. use normal 9mm, not +. i fire a smaller, more powerful amt backup .45 without problems. pierredussf = 45yrs spec opns.

  • @pierredussf No offense but you're telling this to a person who has been shooting for 4 years, has received training with handguns, and shoots every weekend. I have owned a ruger LCP and a DB380 both of which are smaller and lighter than the sig p238. Except for a short 50 rd break in period for both the ruger and DB, had never had any failures to feed or eject. I'm pretty sure there is nothing wrong with my grip, the gun had this issue with anyone who fired it.

  • @weaponocd Actually, to me it just seems like a guy trying to have fun and shoot guns, as well as help people to decide if they like them or not. This is what he does for fun and people enjoy watching it. If you don't like the way the person is or their videos there is something called avoiding them. You're just flame baiting.

  • Weaponocd shut the fuck up no gives a shit what you think, go die in a hole

  • @bobruffles7 Thank you, Sir. Your opinion is duly noted, and I respect it. I will, however caution you to take note of your upload and subscriber count vice mine before you make poorly worded, idle statements such as "no gives a shit what you think." Sorta discounts your credibility in its entirety, but that's OK. You are entitled to say and do as you please. Thanks for the great laugh, and I'm quite certain, Sir, that I will be dead BEFORE I am in a hole. Just the way it goes.

  • I don't want a < 15 oz 9mm. The PM9 is just right.

  • Too thick? It is exactly the same thickness of a Kahr PM9 according to the specs. Are you sure you are not allowing the scale when compared it it's short height and length to affect your perception?

  • I'm glad it's thicker than the Keltec. I owned a PF9 and it was a piece of junk that broke on the second range trip. Sig was probably aiming for individuals that liked the PF9, but were looking for a slightly beefier gun to soak up recoil. There's already one PF9, so no need to recreate it.

  • Just out of curiosity, why do you consider this pistol to be too thick if you're such a P238 fan? Height, length, and width (with slide catch included) are both identical between the P290 and the P238. The biggest difference (for conceal carry) to me is the 5 ounce difference, but other than that, the dimensional specs are almost the same.

  • @SigShooter007

Nutin gone nuts? The Sig p238 HD in 380 cal is the exact same dimensions and weight as the 290!! What's nutin's problem? I just sold my 238 hd and thinkin of the 290!!

  • A glock is much fatter and i don't hear you saying '' Sig p290 is realy fat'' that glock is also pretty fat but it is much lighter i would say

  • This has got to be thinner than a Glock, though. And those extra ounces might not be good for super-easy carry, but I'll bet they make actually shooting it a lot more comfortable. Granted, the wideness is a good point to bring up.

  • I'm actually pretty psyched to check it the P290 out. I've heard nothing but good things, so I'll have to see myself.

  • Those extra ounces should cut the "snappy" recoil issue with the PF9. Slide thickness is the only way to stack on ounces for a "plastic" gun.

    Just my take on it.

  • ill stick with my 239

  • It looked nice and thin till you showed the top, it's pretty thick, thanks

  • Dude, Sig's need to go back to the drawing board on this one.

  • That thing is heavy. It weighs almost as much as a glock 19

  • Nutnfancy, I'm a huge fan but honestly don't understand how you're saying that the P290 is too thick. I purchased a LCP per your review and have been more than happy with it. The P290 (according to Ruger and Sig's specs) is exactly .08 of an inch thicker than the LCP chambered in .380. Wouldn't the jump from .380 to 9mm be worth 1/10th of an inch? Thanks in advance for your response.

  • @marcosbullock Unfortunetly you will never get a response.

  • @jefallijay I may or I may not. I think it's a valid question but also can take a quick glance at Nutn's home page and tell that he's a pretty busy guy. I'm sure he'll see the question and respond soon enough.

  • @marcosbullock It's absolutely a valid question. I actually agree with you on the fact that moving up to a 9mm would be better over the .380 as far as power and penetration. If you look at the Sig P290, it is bigger than the LCP in Thickness, Length and Height. The differences are quite minimal though. The only edge the Ruger has over the Sig is the Weight, the Sig is twice the weight at around 20 ounces compared to 9.4 for the Ruger, not a big deal to most users. I prefer the Sig P290 Extreme.

  • @jefallijay I was just mentioning that you would probably never get a response from NutnFancy because i have messeged him occasionaly for over a year now and have never gotten anything back. I think when it gets to the point where you can't even answer questions for people anymore, you may be doing too much. I'm sure most people that spend all their time watching all these lengthy videos don't feel part of it anymore, and feel more like fanboys more than anything because of that reason.

  • @jefallijay This kind of comment will more than likely get you a response from me...and no offense, but those usually aren't pleasant. Let Nutn run HIS channel the way he sees fit to run it and we'll be glad to do the same for you. Your comments have been rude and unnecessary, keep it up and they'll get you blocked. -- Veri

  • Have to agree with you on this. The biggest turn off for me on the Kahr was the price and weight. The dimensions on this new Sig look alot like the Glock 27 except the Sig looks even heavier. I'm interested in the new Ruger LC9. Can't wait to see your take on that.

  • I like the 20 oz weight number and the slide thickness is .9" which matches all the other "pocket" 9mms. I believe the 20 oz weight will keep the weapon more manageable and help on follow-up shots. I look forward to trying it out.

  • I think I'll stick with my Kahr PM9. Thanks for the awesome SHOT coverage btw, maybe I'll make it out there myself one day

  • would you say its thicker than the new XDM Sub compact?

  • another ugly ass euro platcic gun..need another one these like i need a hole in the head

  • Thank you Nutn for stopping by the SIG booth. I think SIG is be coming out with an 8(+1) round mag for the P290. With that it will be ahead of the Kahr Nutn brought up. How does factor in for you?

  • Anyone else throw up in their mouth at 3:01?

  • nutn against nutn, but when I come across videos with a commercial I clench my jaws in disgust and click off the video and watch something else. pretty sad when it comes to this. I mean when your so big you can say..... place a squeaky clown nose at the end of ur barrel or none of my viewers will buy ur products. I realize it might have something to do with being a youtube partner or some crap but damn give ur followers a break..............true patriotic follower.

  • @born68 Firefox + AdBlock Plus

  • I enjoy the brutally honest reviews Nutn' puts out there.

To me Sig's P238 is an ideal .380 CCW pistol, and the P290 is a complete miss...

Why Sig didn't modify the hugely popular P238 and chamber it in 9mm is beyond me, well beyond everyone really.

Quick example, forget prices for a sec...take a quick look at Wilson Combat and their two Sentinel CCW pistols - they are 9mm in a 1911 format, thin, low recoil, it is what a P290 should have been...a beefed up P238 !!

  • @Bulwark1911 The problem with too many P238s is that they are unreliable. I got 300 rnds thru my first one before Sig tossed it on the scrap heap. I got 50 rnds on the replacement and it is going back to Exeter. I grow weary of Sig quality.

  • @RainmanE350 I havn't had a problem with my P238, maybe you got the early gen ? I only shoot Hydra-shok's out of mine, so i'm not sure about other ammo to be honest.

  • @Bulwark1911 Both are very recent and post recall. The first P238 was a Dec 2010 build bought Feb 14, the replacement was a March 2011 build and came directly from Sig this week. I need a money back guaranteed before I will consider Sig again.

  • @RainmanE350 Wow, I have never heard of such repeat issues like that before ! I will keep an eye on my own P238 ~ so far so good.

  • The P290 has the same dimensions as the P238. How is it too thick when the P238 is not? If you don't measure the slide catch the P290 is actually thinner than the P238. It is kind of heavy for its size but I tend to prefer something with a little weight.

  • It's supposed to be a scaled-down version of the 239. An SAS version would at least get rid of those corners.

  • Wow, about the same as my Para carry 9 but wider with less rounds.

  • love my p238.

  • Weight and Thickness are the most important aspect of a carry gun for me second to ammo capacity. I currently carry a PM9. Seriously considered a Glock 26 but could not get passed the thickness despite the increase in capacity.

  • can we get the arsenal review please?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

  • p290 that aint ugly . i like the look , never held it though..but u know the 226 police gun is nice easy to strip ,but not as easy as glock

  • Weight has never been an issue for me. I prefer a Kahr MK9 in steel. I've never had a problem with a small steel gun with a good gun belt. I'm just saying

  • I was at the shot show this yea and took a look at the P290. I cant believe sig made this gun. Its lacks in every department. Also the DA trigger was one of the worst ive ever seen. The gun sucks!

  • weight does help recoil buttbrain lol

  • it looks like a glock to me... Very slightly more ergonomic.

  • cigs are nice

  • im surprised they let this maniac into that place....

  • Did you get a chance to look at the P210 Legend? If so, thoughts?

  • You forgot to mention that the trigger sucks. Heavy DAO. They need something like an HK LEM.

  • ill take the CW9 over the p290 all day long

  • Righteous review, and I totally agree, I don't think with that design you could beat the Kahr PM9. But gotta love the Sigs, too bad they couldn't have at least had the magazine 7+1.

  • No sign 556R ?? :(

  • @nutnfancy I hope you checked out the Sig556 russian! That is probably the one thing I'm definitley buying this year. I'm praying to the Sig gods for a 5.45 version.

  • i kinda like it

  • maybe sig will make a p238 the size of a colt mustang government model but in 9mm. Till then I will stick with my pf9

  • sig p250 sub ftw!

  • DUDE! Right on the money with the weight and the thickness. When going CCW, both issues go hand in hand and are VITAL for a proper carry. 20oz is TOO heavy for a gun that size. I carry my G23 all the time...and it's around that weight. BUT, it holds 13+1. GREAT job on that initial look bro.

  • i love the sig but that one looks hella crappy

  • @LynchYT Check out the new Ruger LC9. I have not seen it in person yet, but it sure looks good on paper.

  • Also striker fired so no 2nd strike, even though you can see a hammer

  • What is the difference in the Sig P290 and the Sig P250 sub compact?

  • I'd like to shoot it! I just stopped carrying a 27 for a smaller PM40 , so to mr size and weight matters to each his own.

Thanks for the videos , keep em coming!

  • It's a shame they just didnt make the P238 a little bigger to handle the 9mm. With a poly frame that would have been ideal.

  • Also first of all I Dont Want To Forget That Im Carrying My Firearm. By the way your not suppose to be Comfortable when your arrying something on your body that you were not Born with. The Thought of carrying a reliable firearm and its suppose to be Comfortable is far is stressed too much under a false pretense. Again the video is always appreciated, Nutnfancy your a Good Soldier My Friend, Keep up the Good Work.

  • @Bersa107 I don't agree at all, first , forgetting that you have a weapon on your person doesn't happen. Second, you can be comfortable while armed. With todays small light reliable polymer wonder guns like LCP, Kel-Tec,Kahr and others, plus the latest defense ammo you can be very well armed and not be inconvenienced at all. Compared to these small light guns, to me, even a Glock 26/23 size gun feels like a small brick. I never go anywhere without (at least) my LCP, because it's so comfortable.

  • @grizz474 I Respect your viewpoint, but like i said "To Each his / her own

  • The Firearm is fine. To Each his own.

    Good Review.

  • Extremely valid point on weight sir, keep preaching it. Thats why I carry my Ruger LCP. I have carried concealed for coming up on 16 years now, I have probably carried a dozen different guns, I learned real quick, large frame autos are no fun to carry all day. A light thin pistol is absolutely the way to go

  • I love sigs too but police dont give me gun license in my fucking comunist country...this is shame...I want to live in america

  • 20 OUNCES!? my full size glock 17 weighs only 22 ounces.......

  • Holy crap, that thing is a brick.

SIGs ain't cheap, either. I'd choose the slim, shootable Kahr P9 or PM9 instead of this with no hesitation.

  • Sig's Website says the P290 is .9 inch (1.1 w/ lever on the side), where as the PM9 and P9 are posted by Kahr to be .9 inches as well. I see a huge weight difference, but I'm not seeing where it is too thick.

  • I'm not defending this pistol in particular, but isn't there a point where a CC is too light? Me and my friend CC and he introduced me to the PF-9, and he regrets buying it. Of course its the easiest 9mm to carry, but getting more than 1 rapid shot off is nigh impossible with that trigger and featherweight 9mm.

  • @gsho2915 I'll take light all day long. Very few people will ever have to discharge their carry weapon in self defense. Truth is you'll carry that thing day in and day out and likely never have to shoot it. And if you did have to fire your weapon in self defense you won't notice the recoil or noise.Personally I like the little .380s, light, slim and very easy to carry.

  • you know ur guns too thin and light when you dont notice until you walk through the metal detector at the airport..

  • witchhhh...................lol

  • Looking at that, it seems as though the slide release is also the take down pin. Is that accurate?

  • Not sure why everyone whines about a little bit thicker handguns... I roll my glock 23 and two extra mags... Back up or ankle holster yeah that would suck but normal CCW use I have no problem... not to mention my 13+1 compared to some of these 8+1 or 9+1 is nice. However Nutn's idea of people actually taking the weapon with them 100% is a lot bigger of a deal then which one.

  • it looks like a rochbraugh

  • other than size.....and how ''pretty'' its gotta be... will it save a life??

  • thanks again for your time and effort! i hope to one day put out some videos for beginners on how to shoot, tips, etc. keep 'em coming! "FRONT SIGHT UP!"

  • nutnfancy! don't think i have said this, but thank you for all the research and time that you give to educate beginners and some of us older shooters about the new stuff out there! alot of people don't take time to understand that this is a sport, and it does require lots of practice. people would ask me why do i do to gunshows so much, i tell them to see whats on the market. and i know you'll agree with this, in order to be the best you can be you must first become a student of this!

  • Thanks for the honest assessment buddy!

  • Where's the hammer man? Too much like Glock., without the light weight!

  • Thanks Nutn for the heads up.

  • Hey nutn, what about the new Ruger LC9!?

  • Another thumbs-up for that P226 Extreme! What a beauty (and a true classic).

  • Love the grips on that one you mentioned. Glad to know there are more sub compact options. Thanks for sharing!

  • Hmm, I'm growing less and less impressed with Sig these days. Especially after the release of their P250 and 556. Not to mention their AR attempts have thus far been a complete joke.

  • what a piece of junk

  • REVIEW THE NEW BODYGUARD!!!! PLEEEEAAASSEEEE

  • I can't buy a gun that small. Ever.

  • It's kinda ugly

  • I agree...P290 is garbage...weird ass barrel...just not comfortabel to shoot.

  • I'm gonna have to agree sir. Kel Tec pf9 just gets it right. Too thick and heavy for realistic civilian carry. Might be a good glove box gun.

  • @pete5668 I would go for the Kel-Tec PF9. It's inexpensive, reliable, and shoot's decently for what it's designed for.I honest carry a Kel-Tec P3AT everywhere I go. I have no problem's with it, and have a PF-9 for the times when I can wear a jacket. I live in AZ, so that's limited.

  • i wouldn't buy it

  • im sorry but thats one ugly little pistol lol

  • @Tehl33tpwnage

that's what my mom said when I was born lol ;p

  • @Tehl33tpwnage i like it.

  • what! no model?

  • I would be more exited about this new sig if it had a hammer was double to single action and had the same controls as a regular sig so that my training on sigs could just carry right over to this piece.

  • Little bit off topic, but today I picked up a SOG flash 2 on your recomendation I love it!!! thanks for the recomendation nutn

  • Crazy, that it's that wide and doesn't have double stack magazine. I'd go for the thickness if it had 10 or 15 rd mag. But even then, the weight at 20 ounces unloaded makes it a total turn off. With ammo of just 6 rounds, that'd add another 2 ounces. I carry the Kel-Tec PF9 daily with just their add on belt clip and often forget I have it. If this Sig was say 45 ACP and 6 rd mag, I'd go for it.

  • it looks just as thick as my glock 19

  • When evaluating products, I think you need to take the intended market into consideration. I'm just guessing that this (like other micro pistols) are purchased by people who aren't gun nuts but who do want to feel safer through concealed carry. How many of them can fire an ultralight 9mm micro pistol without limp-wristing or complaining that "it hurts!"? Heck, a big, young, fit coworker of mine is thinking of getting rid of his PF9 because it's "huts too much" to train with it.

  • I am so glad you reviewed this! I was just going to throw you an email about it! Nice Job buddy!

  • Totally agree, still love SIG, but.....

  • lol look how thick it is. thats what she said

  • good video nutn and veri keep up the great work

  • WOW that 290 is way to big and heavy for what it is, probably expensive as well.
