I can't stop playing this song. It's so beautiful, and poignant, and spiritual. I love the line "You are with me beyond my understanding." thank you for putting up this song
i first heard this song here in Singapore where I now live. it brought me to tears. and whenever i hear this song, i close my eyes and acknowledge how great God is - and how - however small I am - he has accepted and loved me. Thanks for posting this.
The last verse with the lines "Though I search for shelter from your light, there is nowhere on earth I can escape you." is very poignant. I'm using this song as an instrument to bring my dad back to church. With God's grace, he will return.
Fran, you played several conferences for the Episcopal Diocese of SE Florida, and I think Kanuga as well. You touched my heart back then, and at nearly 40 years old, you still touch my heart. God Bless you, friend.
Fran Mckendree led the band McKendree Spring in the 70's. They did the best verison of "Fire and Rain" that I have ever heard. Saw them live at My Father's Place on Roslyn, NY, around 1974-5.
The singer is Fran McKendree the words are a paraphrase of Psalm 139 music by Bernadette.... I believe
