  • Just because of this scene I'm gonna get miself a tactical baton.

    And Ben is hot.

  • And that's with an injured arm :-)

  • @bakerstreetbookworm sprechen Sie Deutsch?

  • what are the 2 men saying?

  • This scene surprised me after I finished the season because it shows how composed Ben was even though at the time he thought he could never return to the Island.

  • Like a boss...

  • Ohhh.. I just love his smile at 1:40 ;D

This smile hast something ;) hasn't it?

  • Most bad ass scene in the whole show!! by my favorite character :D

  • One of the best scenes on this show, ever!! So badass....

  • ahhhhh okay, okay, hahaha okay

  • What is the guy saying when Ben is holding the baton up? Drop it?

  • Best episode of LOST in my opinion. Michael Emerson is king! What a bad ass xD

  • Ben is one of the best characters on the show I love the line "Oh, so you do speak English"

  • Does anyone know how many times Ben's got beaten? I hardly recognize him without scars and purpleness:P Btw at 1:13 he speaks turkish without an accent. Appreciated! :]

  • 0:31 did not needed to see that

  • using science, it is possible to determine the exact moment where ben linus went from vaguely interesting secondary character to best person on the show.

    it is this scene

  • Anyone who speaks Arabic and uses telescopic baton to beat people is a badass in my opinion.

  • HAX!

  • turkish? in sahara? lol

Turkey have a lot holiday place like-cesme-bodrum-ıstanbul izmir!

they re dont know this huh xD

  • My favorite episode in the season. My favorite scene in the episode.

1:40 "What, this? I don't even know what it is."

  • He's one of my favorite characters. It's either him or Sayid. Sayid is just so badass. But Ben is so sneaky it's scary haha.

  • Too bad the wheel wasn't (really) explained...

  • awesome

  • This scene was so cool gotta respect Ben!

  • How did someone this badass not end up the main antagonist?

  • LOL!!! "Oh so you DO speak English?" I love that line, he is such a badass in this episode, Gotta love Ben, Michael Emerson you are awesome!!

  • I love how he's all like "I'M JUST A POOR, INNOCENT CIVILIAN" in the beginning but then proceeds to kick their asses in the coolest possible way.

I was practically mesmerized by this scene when I first saw it.

I mean, hell... I thought he was just a manipulative genius.

When I found out that he kicks ass too, he obtained the highest possible level of badassery in my book.

  • @Shanna678 Oh yeah I totally agree 110%!!!

  • the best scene ever in lost

  • what the arab guy said?? surrender? haha --so you do speak english

  • O W N E D

  • lol, that was so awesome! Badass Ben, for sure. Plus the whole, "Oh, so you do speak English."

  • never trust Ben.

  • 2:07 + --I wish I was that horse XD lol

  • @treatsnsweets you want him to ride you?? haha nice one

  • @treatsnsweets

    01.28 - I wish I was that Sahara guy ;)

  • What does he pull out of his pocket at 1:37

  • telescop stick

  • @Enigma316 HIs Extend-o stick

  • PURE AWESOMNESS!!

  • Doesn't one of the bedouins say "Dharma"?

  • Benjamin Linus is my favorite all time character. He's so manipulative and smart, which, in my opinion, makes him so much more badass then Sayid or anyone else on the show... well, except when he got his daughter shot, but you can say he was emotionally compromised by everything that happened before-hand which made him slip-up.

  • OWNED!!!!!

  • This scene contains the biggest clue noone has ever seen. If you'll watch the clip again Ben lands in the Sahara desert in what appears to be a crater. THIS IS THE ISLANDS ORIGINAL LOCATION. The spot Ben lands in is the exact spot where the wheel was originally. It explains all the hyroglyphs and egyptian stuff on the island

  • No, this is just the spot that things teleport to when turning the wheel. There's more than just ancient Egyptian stuff on the island.

  • "Oh, so you do speak English?" BAM

That was all just EPIC! Man, I just love Benjamin Linus/Michael Emerson! He's just amazing! ;D

  • Whoa! Who knew Ben could be such a BA?! Where did he get those crazy Matrix fighting skills?

  • yum yum yum yum yum, 1:40, 2:11, in fact all of it, yum yum.

  • Ben really seems like the kind of guy who could do that in ANY country.

  • Turkish guy living in US here...

It is true that most Americans don't know much about anything outside their immediate 'sphere of culture'; I've witnessed good educated, cultured people ask the most ignorant questions about other countries such as mine, Turkey, but that's not a crime now, is it?

However, the character Ben is supposed to be extremely knowledgeable to play his endless manipulation games; thus mistaking bedouins that hold AK-47s as Turks really doesn't make much sense...

  • Enough with the stupid comments about foreign languages.

  • wow. ben's such a kick-ass

  • Adam Sahra çölünde Tikritte değil, o çöl de Amerika kıtası kadar bir yer.

  • Now that was smooth. =D

    Ben is the best!

  • One of my favourite Lost scenes!

  • 1:50 - Ben's Crowning Moment of Awesome

  • I love the big smile on his face as he's about to swing the baton.

  • "Türkçe biliyur musunuz??" (He affected an American accent in speakin Turkish) ....nıhahaha...if i were one of these 2 man, i'd say "evet, biliyorum, konuşş!!!" LOLL

i wonder 2 man would say "evet (yes)" when he asked "türkçe biliyur musunuz? (do you speak turkish)", could he be able to speak in Turkish during this scene?? wooww that would be amazing but this video an this part of the epsiode is amazing too...

    i loveeee this guy <3

    "Yaw!!!"

  • if this happened, this would be ridicilous becouse, bedouins never speak turkish, there was not any relationship between turkish people with sahara.. american ignorancy..

  • Its kind of embarrassing that people from other countries speak english, but most americans cant speak a foreign language. At my school, very little emphasis is put on learning other languages, which is why I want to travel somewhere and master the native language. I dont know where to go though.

  • A: "Most Americans"? I trust you have some solid, tangible evidence other than your personal experiences that proves this?

B: The fact that YOUR school places little emphasis on learning a foreign language doesn't mean that the other 300 MILLION Americans shared the same experience. My school, for example, required three years of a foreign language as do most colleges.

  • actually I do, a Gallup poll held in 2002 states that 25% of Americans can speak a second language, half of these being migrants from other countries that have learned English. And I'm sorry if i offended you, oh all-knowing scholar and erudite master of languages. Asshole.

  • aresolar is right, and this three years of learning a foreign language wont equal you being in any way even near fluency, most at the end of the course would only be able to string basic sentences together

  • its not emberassing that cant speak foreign language but supposing a bedoins, riding horse on sahara desert, can speak turkish, that is emberassing. I mean, most of amerikan don't know the differece about Arabia, Irak, İran, and Tukey. They think Turkey is desert country by only reason, they are moslem. Did you heard a serial movie "The Last Templar", there are some scene about "Bodrum" which is the distinguished holiday town in Turkey. Supposedly It is in the middle of the Sahara! :)

  • kolraob i bet you dont know alot about americans either.

  • blame your school not american education. There are plenty of americans with second language skills.

  • ryunkoon most Americans with second language skills usually learned their language because of their family origins...many Italian-Americans learn Italian, many hispanic ppl speak both Spanish and English...it doesn't make them smart, it's quite logical!

you're a smart person if you learn Arabic or Russian without having any contact with Russia or Middle East (such as family or friends)

  • niye türkçe konuşmasın konuşurdu tabii ,

baba sizde at var geçerken beni adaya

  • Ben is such a wonderfully evil character. I olove him. And Emerson is insane in the best way.

  • "Oh, so you do speak english" brilliant! lol

  • in addition to this, they can speak arabi

  • ben is a jedi

  • No. BEN > jedi

  • Ben is epic in this scene. I even love the way he says "Yaw" at the end lol.

  • this scene proves that ben linus is the most bad ass character ever.

  • @iplaidinator sayid?

  • What Ben said in Arabic was "I'm jacking yo' horse, fool"

  • That was brilliant. Ben totally 355'd their asses.

    thanks for sharing :D

  • its made even better by the fact that he's so unassuming and harmless looking then BOOM headshot :D

  • LOVE this!!!

  • One of the best scenes in lost!

  • Evet Türkce biliyorum

  • Ok, I know I'm splitting hairs, but.....

He wakes up in the desert- just him in that big ass coat. Yet, when he gets up on the horse, he has his messenger bag slung over his shoulder. I mean it COULD belong to one of the other men, but it looks just like the one he carries around in season 3.

  • Mjaya89: At 1:05 you can see the bag..

  • I WANT BEN LINUS!

  • So...bad...ass! ^-^

  • if there was a fight between Chuck Norris and Jack Baurer, Ben Linus would win

  • @deadpool981 HAHAHAHAHA! YES!

  • @deadpool981 Ben would win via manipulating Chuck and Jack to fight/kill each other. Still, a win is a win

  • @deadpool981 I love Ben Linus but no way would he beat Jack Bauer!

  • ben badass ! sexy!!!!!!!!!!!

  • oh sow you do speak english =))=))

  • pure pwnage

  • I think this is a throwback to plato bringing the story of atlantis to the egyptians. Which also makes me believe even more that the island in LOST is ancient Atlantis.

  • Comment removed

  • I want that jacket

  • I know this has probably already been mentioned but have you noticed that the opening bit where ben wakes up lead down is identical to the very first seen on the pilot episode where jack wakes up in the jungle??

  • i bet when he pulled the black thing out the two guys were like wtf, is that a dildo?

  • Oh my god, that was just epic, i love that look on his face right before he backsmacks that guy. I always thought ben was the manipulitive puny type before that.

  • I don't know why people didn't think Ben could fight before. He beat up Sawyer pretty good when he was a captive of the Others.

  • wtf is this guy? speaks arabic, turkish, uses ak-47 like a soldier, fights like bruce lee, rides a horse easily.

  • he's that good

  • He's Chuck Norris little brother

  • You mean Chuck Norris is HIS little brother ;D

  • Haha, ofcourse, my mistake!

  • @kespec He is GOD!

  • How can there be a logical explination for this?

  • I've got the same extending baton I cheered when he smashed the guy with it, Ben's so cool

  • Are those even legal to have? :S

  • who gives a shit about legal?

  • Me if I'm asking.

  • well no they are not legal in the UK not sure about elsewhere, but I for one dont care, don't like getting my hands dirty much easier to flick the wrist and twat somebody clean out!!

  • that would be a badass jacket to have

  • I've checked that sahara desert is the antipodes of the location of the island!

That could mean that they appear on the other side of the world!

  • Yeah, that seems to be the "time trivel wormhole" between the island and the outside world.

  • I remember an episode where they find a skeleton of one of those polar bears with that collar in the desert to.,It seems to have a connection with ben ending up in the desert.

  • 'OH'

    so you do speak english...

    'SMACK!!!'

  • Where did this [guy] come from? Down from the sky?" Ben asks them if they speak English, and when he gets no reply, he asks them if they speak Arabic, and then Turkish, but they still do not speak with him...

do not piss off an Other.

  • hehe he is sexy xD and I love this scene xD

  • 1901Twilighter, I totally agree with you. I watched this part again just to check the wound and the coat, and there they were! The writers / directors are so good tying the loose ends together.

  • Ben's a baton weilding bad ass mutha.

  • lol yeah he is sexy XD

  • god i love ben hes my fave hes so unexpected!

  • yeah..uh...he totally won!!ben is sooo sexy!!

  • he went directly from the island to sahara, when mooving the island. He still has that same wound on his arm, from when when he fell, at that icy place. He said himself that whoever moves the island, can't ever come back! he is such an amazing actor!

  • He was wearing that jacket when he moves the island in the season 4 finale. This has to be a flash forward.

  • Maybe he went in the future to borrow the jacket from himself to look stylish in the middle east?

  • fucking bad ass.

  • sexy!!!

  • he says turkce biliyor musunuz ?

    ı say evet biliyorum

  • ben is the greatest...

  • i think ben just teleported from somewhere as you can see he wearing a dharma jacket maybe from the island and not to mention h is on the floor in the middle of the desert breathing as if he just came from somewhere

  • didnt you watch the season 4 finale??

  • ya i did its been a while since ive watched it sorry about that lol ya clearly he did teleport

  • Ben is my fav from lost :D

  • Michael Emerson is an amazing actor!

  • There's nothing Ben Linus can't do

  • except get juliet

  • HAHAH

  • don't think i can find the egyptian for "owned b@tches"

  • every person who's moved the island has been teleported into tunisia (remember the polar bear found by charlotte) im almost certain widmore has moved the island and he's also 'banished' like ben. so try to imagine similar circumstances except with widmore. so the island has been 'moved' before by the previous leader/chosen one, but from what time has the island moved? and what we're the circumstances that made widmore move the island? go look up Dharmacakra on lostpedia!

  • I would be careful beating up ben if I were sawyer

  • yeah but sawyer's tougher than he looks, was a boxer in prison and fights like a dirty bastard too

  • Still, ben knows some badass shit if he doesnt decide to let someone beat him up!

  • ya i know ben looks like a nerd or he actually was a nerd as a kid but he has his moments

  • If you all didn't know by now, this is where ben winds up AFTER he moves the island

  • i understand him asking the bedouins if they speak arabic but wouldnt it be more logical to ask them if they spoke french instead of turkish? they are tunisian, right?

  • GANGSTAAAA!!!!!!

  • this is where ben must end up after leavin the island. cool!

  • Ben is great. This is one of my favorite scene in the show.

  • I love it !

  • what is more interesting about this is, remmeber when the polar bear skeleton is found in the sahara wearing a Darhma Intitiative colar in a previous lost episode, i came to the conclusion that Darhma used polar bears to turn the wheel so that people didnt have to, thats why there was a polar skeleton in the desert. plus it is icey by the wheel too and it looks heavy and hard ot turn.

  • by george i think he's right.

  • What was he holding?

  • An extendable baton. Police use them.

  • Notice the name on Bens Jacket? Haliwax aka Dr Wickmund bka Dr Marvin Candle (The Guy in the station orientation videos.

  • pierre chang!

  • what were the two langages ben spoke in when the men approached him

  • turkish and arabic

  • turkish and arabic. i dont understand arabic but his turkish is very very funny xD

  • his arabic is good though, i speak arabic. lol

  • what did they say?
