@lgsmango78 don't know bout turbo but there is a manual on some models (five speed I believe). If you get the sx model it has a 173hp engine which is 17hp more than other models.
Not bad....Now, if they replace that family sedan non-sport driving related Torsion Bean Rear Suspension system that car comes with, then it will be a real competitor for Honda Civic Coupe, or at least for a for a Hyundai Tiburon.

yeah i have driven one, and there not good. i was really rooting for it because it looked good. but there are many things wrong with it that someone who knows cars would notice.
and i imagine it wouldnt be hard to make something 'run' better than a high strung turbocharged 2L 4cyl like an evo.

i drove both the manual and automatic and maybe bot were lemons but the manual was right on par with a sunfires manual, it was horrible, and the chassis sucks too. And i went into the thing wanting it to be a good car because of the sticker price and the fantastic looks, but driving is what really counts in a car and driving it side by side the mazda,honda,ford focus, VW, hyundai elantra, nissan sentra. COMPLETELY put it to shame. sorry man just dont go driving anything else i guess

Noone else has pointed this out but.... the tail lights on the Forte sedan kindaa look like the tail lights you would find on a 3-series BMW. Nice looking car I must admit.
Honda and Toyota once invested in R&D like no one else and offered there cars and very affordable prices, but times have changed now they can sell there cars based on a name not on bang for the buck. I work at a Toyota dealership garage and I can tell you quality is not the same. Kia has, like Honda and Toyota once did, invested billions into changing their image and giving the customer the best bang for the buck. Koreans are the new Japanese and all you civic driving tools just dont get it.
I own one and its simply amazing and a real joy to drive.
And for those who say its copied from a civic,i'll give you that the front lights look somewhat similar but other than that it has nothing of the civic. Its has nothing to envy from the civic, in fact its miles ahead ! Yeah haters are annoying. The only similarity the car has with the civic is the general look of the front, but if you compare them side by side you can see that the headlights are different in shape and the forte's lights don't look like they're being sucked into the grill like the civic's. the grill is definitely kia's as it is being applied on all their new vehicles now. generally, kia's design looks way more refined. the civic's bumper looks so bland compared to the forte's.

I dont think they care about originality with their cars, they are following the Hyundai script. Make affordable copies of popular cars and give consumers better bang for the buck.
doesnt matter is 10k or 30k...new car will last at least 6 years without any major problems if u do ur regular checkup....people should get a new car once it reaches 100k miles anyway than keep the same car for like 15-20 years....so theres no point spending a fortune on a car unless brand name matters to u that much.
no offense but my 95 civic is now 14 years old has 385.000 miles and origional clutch still ... i put a new timing belt in every 100 k miles change the oil regulary and its paid for.. car is only worth 1 grand but it gets 35 mpg with touring tires and with liability insurance costing 150 bucks a year ,... sure in the 60s and 70s you had to get a new car at 100 k if your buying american they just didnt last.. now things are much better.
We all know Hondas are competent cars for sure. I can do the same with either a Kia or a Hyundai. I have Elantra. My car still runs like a brand new, getting 35 miles/gal on highways and it does not burn a drop of oil but I don't want to be tied to this car too long for my life is way too short.
I think I prefer that on the chrome and big filled "philosophy" behind lexus/infiniti/acura (all these brands are BS just stick to honda/toyota/nissan like in japan)

looks like the 2009 Si instead of one thing the Kia is good looking the Civic is not (death to the shitbag of so called designer at Honda who messed the grille and rims of the coupe long life to the 2007 coupe (in facts its more of a RIP))

I think Kia is owned by hyndai. But HONDA Has the best value for the money really. I mean sure they are more expensive at first but the value over time is the cheapest. They have the best rep on almost anything when it comes to cars.

Yea Kia isn't still up there but they have improved so much in recent years and are showing a lot of potential. I won't be surprised to see them take over the car industry in the next few years, just as Japan did in the 70's and 80's.
You are dead on. Kia is now, what Honda and Toyota were in the 70's and 80's. People are taking notice at the quality and value. I nervously took a chance and bought an '06.5 Kia Optima. I've put about 5k miles on it so far and love it. The value can't be beat.

i remember when honda started in the 1970's they built the biggest crap cars on the road not to mention dangerous it took them 30 years to build a decent and safe car but i refuse to buy one as I dont like to drive what every one has. On the other hand KIA has really stepped up in recent years and is produeing some really cool cars at awsome prices and a fantastic warranty equal to BMWl so how can u go wrong. Really? I'm pretty sure this is a production car that is going on sale this August. I would call the Kia Koup Concept an exhibition car, but the Koup in this video is the real deal and is what the public is getting.
I guess they did that to provide more space/headroom because it is important to some people, I never thought/considered kia but they are going the right direction, this is a nice looking car in my opinion this looks much better than a civic and its cheaper its a good car for younger first time buyer that wanna buy something that looks cool with out paying too much money, good job kia

there are 3 fantastic choices in this car catagory. civic, mazda 3 and VW golf AND hyundai elantra.
and if you cant afford those get a nissan versa, or ford focus (or fiesta when it comes)

I really cant wait to see what happens with Kia in the future, the coupe is nice, but just like honda if they start doing good thier going to raise the price of there vehicles. I love my 08 SI coupe, and there is no doubt about it kia forte looks like a civic and a lancer. Nice none the less

i think saying that kia is "better" is a bit bold.... I dont think they are better... but i do think that they are on the same playing field. I dont drive a kia, but i find myself very attracted to the new generation of Kia's and Hyundai's. I almost bought a genesis coupe last month.. but decided on a speed6. Props to KIA AND HYUNDAI THO! I like the direction they are going!

Yeah haters are annoying. The only similarity the car has with the civic is the general look of the front, but if you compare them side by side you can see that the headlights are different in shape and the forte's lights don't look like they're being sucked into the grill like the civic's. the grill is definitely kia's as it is being applied on all their new vehicles now. generally, kia's design looks way more refined. the civic's bumper looks so bland compared to the forte's.

wow... sporty end emotional? groundbreaking? The front end styling is a rip off of a civic si and mitsu Evo, and the rear is off an alfa. doesnt matter is 10k or 30k...new car will last at least 6 years without any major problems if u do ur regular checkup....people should get a new car once it reaches 100k miles anyway than keep the same car for like 15-20 years....so theres no point spending a fortune on a car unless brand name matters to u that much.

no offense but my 95 civic is now 14 years old has 385.000 miles and origional clutch still ... i put a new timing belt in every 100 k miles change the oil regulary and its paid for.. car is only worth 1 grand but it gets 35 mpg with touring tires and with liability insurance costing 150 bucks a year ,... sure in the 60s and 70s you had to get a new car at 100 k if your buying american they just didnt last.. now things are much better.

We all know Hondas are competent cars for sure. I can do the same with either a Kia or a Hyundai. I have Elantra. My car still runs like a brand new, getting 35 miles/gal on highways and it does not burn a drop of oil but I don't want to be tied to this car too long for my life is way too short.

I think I prefer that on the chrome and big filled "philosophy" behind lexus/infiniti/acura (all these brands are BS just stick to honda/toyota/nissan like in japan)

looks like the 2009 Si instead of one thing the Kia is good looking the Civic is not (death to the shitbag of so called designer at Honda who messed the grille and rims of the coupe long life to the 2007 coupe (in facts its more of a RIP))
now I hope kia HAVE a good engine to put in it cause this "sporty" ride would be born dead if they put one of their underpowered bs (but i could be wrong I don't know these engine so well)

I think Kia is owned by hyndai. But HONDA Has the best value for the money really. I mean sure they are more expensive at first but the value over time is the cheapest. They have the best rep on almost anything when it comes to cars.

To buy a comparable '06 Accord or Camry would literally have been double the price. Not worth it, even if quality is a little better, which I'm not sure of. My Mom's friend's '04 Accord makes a farting noise inside that the dealer can't fix. A friend of mine has had problems with his '05 Accord stumbling and stuttering at 40k miles. Neither car is under warranty. My '06 Optima has needed 2 new sunvisors, a tire pressure sensor, and a squeak fixed in 35k miles, under

after 02 the accord sucked HARD (only the rims looked good with the new 5 lug brakes (at last), on the 05 by example, oh and the only good accord was a pricey acura (and THAT's a problem) the 09 looks good but it is bigger and maybe pricey too

Yea Kia isn't still up there but they have improved so much in recent years and are showing a lot of potential. I won't be surprised to see them take over the car industry in the next few years, just as Japan did in the 70's and 80's.

You are dead on. Kia is now, what Honda and Toyota were in the 70's and 80's. People are taking notice at the quality and value. I nervously took a chance and bought an '06.5 Kia Optima. I've put about 5k miles on it so far and love it. The value can't be beat.

i remember when honda started in the 1970's they built the biggest crap cars on the road not to mention dangerous it took them 30 years to build a decent and safe car but i refuse to buy one as I dont like to drive what every one has. On the other hand KIA has really stepped up in recent years and is produeing some really cool cars at awsome prices and a fantastic warranty equal to BMWl so how can u go wrong. I love my KIA just wish they made a pickup truck line. great mpg.

I guess they did that to provide more space/headroom because it is important to some people, I never thought/considered kia but they are going the right direction, this is a nice looking car in my opinion this looks much better than a civic and its cheaper its a good car for younger first time buyer that wanna buy something that looks cool with out paying too much money, good job kia
