Yeah, if you watch the trap door trick with the see-through boxes when they are younger, Penn is even skinnier. Much more recently they performed the same trick on America's got talent. Penn was having difficulty keeping his breath even though Teller was doing most of the work.

I'm guessing it's early to mid 80's thats when it matches his hair style and just his apparent age. By the early 90's he lost the front hair bit and had gone with the pony tail that he's kept until today. I'm much more inclined to think mid 80's rather than early but I could be wrong.

mmm...well, I was just saying a joke...I said "maybe he WAS gay" and then laughed...duh, is that offensive? My friends have told me THAT same joke thousand of times ^^!

in any case, I already know the answer...the first time that Penn was going to perform, his mother told him "Hey, get a manicure, people are going to be looking to your hands." And as a joke for her mother, Penn polished all of his nails red. Now, he only uses his left index red to honour his mother...

Do a search for Penn Teller Egypt, look around, there's a vid of Teller talking about how a local magician completely fooled him with a sleight of hand, by distracting him with one he could spot, so he didn't spot the actual sleight.
