  • I do this for my drums. Never thought of doing it for my drops. Great tip man!

  • The complextro goodness...

  • I have alot of respect for you and love your tutorials but seriously, nearly a 5 minute long video for lowering the volume on the master channel by 1 db?

  • how do u do that part that has that modeled air sound is it with the bus's?

  • Hey which filter are you using on the masterbus there?

  • for some reason evertime i watch a youtube video i have to close fl its a kinda annoying. Especially when the topic involves music

  • This is just amazing.

Everytime I watch one of your vids, I open FL remembering that your one of the reasons why I make music xD

  • hey man you can just press control + t to get a track into the sequencer because you don't have to go and turn the automation back off :D

  • simple but good tip. Fantastic sounding track though, the melody just keeps rolling and most of the noises sound real clean... any tips on how you "visualize" the drop part or does it kind of form as the track grows?

  • people need to stop asking you to do full song tutorials... i mean, yeah, you're a fucking GOD at writing electronic music and people look up to you as inspiration for their music writing, but life and their music career wont be handed to them on a silver platter. you can throw in little tips and tricks but you cant write their songs for them! you're great man! keep up the good work.

  • @TheOfficialStratos well put

  • Nice!!! Thanks for the tip....

  • CAN YOU PLEASEEE DO A TUT ON HOW YOU MAKE A WHOLE SONG PLEASEEEEEEEEEEEE

  • Where are your sound patches again?

  • How would you put the master channel in the sequencer in ableton live?

  • hey man, thanks for the tip, will definitely put it to use. When you automate the cutoff on the low cut/hi-pass filter, I'm just wondering what plugin that is? I find it ridiculously hard to find a SIMPLE hi or lo-pass filter in logic, but yours being called Low Cut really makes it seem like what I'm looking for.

  • OOOOH... NASTY. Finally a producer who knows what they're talking about. I produce hip hop but I can appreciate a good composition, keep up the vids man! You're helping out alot of people

  • Dope tunes and excellent tutorials for real! Do you make deliveries to Israel?..

  • yeah man!!! when it dropped!!! yeah!!!

  • Do you have an mp3 of this? I would love it.

  • You sound like Murray from flight of the conchords :)

  • wow!!!! love the drop, sounds so great

  • hey man, nice tute. Only thing is I don't know how to find a few things... For example your master channel says Output 1-2, where mine only says 'stereo out'? Also when I go to Automation it only lets me tweek the volume, not low-cut? I noticed you had certain plug-ins on that channel that were probably letting you do this, but if you could let me know how to get round this that would be great!

  • ok i really would like to know where did you learn all of this???

  • can you please show me how to do those pitch sounds in this vid, there at the bottom of the layered peices. id really appreciate it

  • NVM CHEERS GOT IT LOL ;)

  • dude which filter is that in logic?

  • omgg the complextro part was jizzzz

  • Saw there's a 2nd trick to make the Drop bigger but cant watch the video beacause of german Laws. Anyone could describe it to me in 2 short sentences?

  • @hejenoge it was how to use white noise before and during the drop. He gave some good details about how to get a good sound, but it would be hard to explain here =/

  • Where can i buy this song????

  • can you please make a tutorial where you just show how to build you song from scratch? not necessarily live, but just an overview of went in to building a finished product. showing the sequencing that you did for each section and all. if you could do that that would be greatly appreciated and if you already have done that can someone point me to the link of that video. thanks :)

  • @AceTheIntrovertMusic yea man already done one....its called something like 'how to make complextro (enzed style)'

  • wow dude nice drop section.

  • please can you make a tutorial how did you managed to create this track? i like those sound which are there

  • fuck.. that song is soo sick

  • OMG that was a kill drop

  • hey great quality in ur sound and video! Can u tell me how u got ur automation on the low cut filter to curve right before the drop? from 1100 to 20, without using a ton of annoying dots. the song sounds great and is inspiring.

  • @LFOmyNutsOff hey nvm its the automation curve tool, lol

  • Comment removed

  • wow that sounded really good sounds like skrillex

  • Thanks for the tip. I usually slap on the gain plugin and automate it instead of the volume. That way, you can still use tge fader for the overall volume.

  • Love your tutorials bro! Can you make a high pitched dubstep wobble tutorial? Thanks.

  • Super helpful! Been using Logic for a couple of years now and never even thought of bringing the master to the sequencer.

  • your white noise on this track sounds super nice! what kind of processing did you do to it to get it so rich sounding?

  • @beatdownthek1d thanks bro, I cut out the low frequencies, widened it with a sample delay and added a touch of reverb. Some whitenoise oscillators in some synths are better than others though :-)

  • @nzmusic101 i've used massive and minimonsta primarily for my white noise patches. i generally use the same techniques, i guess i just need to fine tune the parameters a bit more.

  • You are awesome.

  • @ksabalo LOL get blocked, I love internet police, the worst thing about people like you is you do nothing for a living still, and since when did I care how I look on the "Internet"? First - You responded to my comment which you didn't have to in the first place, should of been the bigger person. Second - your obviously the only person who disliked this video, because your so pissed and I'm laughing at you so give up your 'internet police' job, an get a real one full stop. :-)

  • This track is gonna be dopeeee!

  • @fargizzle thank you my man! hopefully it will be for sale sometime soon!

  • @ksabalo thanks bro that was by far the shittiest explanation ever :) i have a bitcrusher in Logic but that tells me nothing about how to make the sound.

  • how i can see master track in arrangement?...stereo output...

  • awesome tutorial NZ. how do you make the "Fish" bass though? the sound that goes like "yeay" kind of. I hear similar sounds in Porter Robinson and Skrillex songs.

  • @ksabalo Really? Why would it piss me off you fucking idiot? Is it my video? No shut up please :)

  • 3:27... just 3:27

BTW how do you make that "yuy" noise at 3:31?

  • Great tutorial! Can you make a tutorial on how to make that main synth before the drop

  • He i have a question do you/can you make a video about how to do a full electro house or dub step song? because i really want to know how to do one.i have been trying for like 6 months and cant get it right.

  • cant wait till the pack comes out!!!

  • @cangri77 me neither! thanks man!!

  • I like your accent :-D I mean it's not an accent as long as you're a native speaker, but.. What the hell, that's nice tip man, thanks!

  • @DJTonx haha yes people seem to like the accent :-)

  • when you later sub bass do you add side chain compression?

  • @JustinMPerea yes. I use the exact same compressor settings as the main basslines sidechain compressor. :-)

  • @nzmusic101 i mean do you layer the sub bass with the regular bass?

  • @JustinMPerea oh are you asking which bassline is my channel named 'Sub' laying underneath?

  • @nzmusic101 Yeah im asking if you side chain compress a sub bass with another higher layered bass.

  • @JustinMPerea because you have been a long time supporter i will do a vid quickly showing you how that sub bass is working in this track :-) coming right up

  • @nzmusic101 thanks =]

  • @JustinMPerea uploading now - hope it answers your question. :-)

  • Holy GOD that's a good track you've put together.

  • @MarkoCindric thanks bro!!!

  • You can also right click, and choose "create select arrange track" and that will create the track in the arrange window.

  • Great, i always turned the master 1or 2db up after the breakdown and before the drop to make it sound bigger and heavier, but i never thought of lowering the db when the breakdown starts.

Im liking your tutorials a lot, tho im not an electro producer. Especially because of your technics and you are really good with MASSIVE.

Btw, check the Trance SuperSaw tutorial please, i need help over there.

  • How have you NOT been signed by a label yet?!? ur music is so good

  • not sure what you meant in the beginning about the common knowledge that everyone filters everything in and... something...

i use FL studio, but i assume it would be the same underlying concept. i'm just not too familiar with filters and envelopes and all that jazz... yet.

  • @markaamorossi during breakdowns people a lot of the time will either either high or low pass their sounds through the breakdown section and then filter them back in to the drop :-)

  • good job man, cant get enough of those pro tips. thanks!

  • I do like this trick and it will totally work if you are doing your own mastering in the same session but you forgot to note that this effect will be totally removed by any sort of mastering after the fact. like say if you send your music off to a label and they do the mastering. You could always however request that the mastering house use this trick on the actual mastering session. (Just a little extra 2 cents i really enjoy your videos and tips! Cheers!)

  • @AlwaysNeverEnt good tip! thanks for your input mate :-)

  • Dude! You need to get a SoundCloud!!!

    That track was dope!!!!

  • thx for tips! =)

  • i dont even use logic and your video's still help me.

    safe for for the videos.

  • Nzmusic, just so you know, if any of your followers ever get famous after learning all your tricks from your tutorials, they're not gonna give you any credit.

  • How do you make that awesome sound?

  • You should send your tracks to some labels! You are better that Zedd!

  • @DirtyGroover haha thank you my man! trying too....hard to get nibbles from labels im finding? even when i do have a decent following from great people like yourself, you hardly ever back from a label. I do have 3 of my tracks being released though.

  • Awesome track and great tip, i have one question for you how do you keep yourself motivated ? i think atm i know a fair bit about producing but i just dont seem to have the drive anymore ?

any tips on how to keep at it ?

    cheers in advance

  • @tazza2 haha umm i guess i just hate all other jobs out there so much that all i want to do is make my living from music! and whilst i dont make any money from these tutorials, i hope a lot of people will buy my tunes (almost as a form of a donation for my tuts)

  • @nzmusic101 well when u figure out how to make money out of it, give me a buzz ai ? =P

  • holy shit man thats some porter robinson shit right there! respect

  • @117DJAckson respect to you my man :-)

  • tune !!!

  • Nice video man

  • Great track geeza

  • holy shit, that was good!

  • Fuck yh! That sounds amazing!!!!

  • Wow. Sounds awesome!

  • Screw labels dude, go independent! It's easy these days with facebook and services like beatport and such. Grab a fanpage so you can start gaining followers, message me if you need some help (I do social media consulting).

  • Can't wait to get this track when it comes out!

  • can you PLEASEEEE!!!! make a tut on the sound at 3:35 for Massive Vst. ive been trying forever to make that sound! its AMAZING! :) thanks

  • Dude is this track done? Hope it's getting released soon because it sounds awesome.

Also about the drop (just my 2c here) but if it were me, i'd have the drum rythm going up until the last 9 bars before the drop then have it start again after the drop. Only because the kick coming back at full volume gives that "explosive" sound combined with the white noise being triggered. To compensate taking it out, i'd replace where you have the drums atm with a snare roll.

    Regardless, it sounds epic.

  • That's really helpful thanks...Love your videos for sharing your knowledge with us

  • THANK YOU SO MUCH! I've ben trying so hard to make an epic drop, but something is still missing. This effect is so simple, yet effective. Keeps up the great vids. will those patches be free?

  • <3

  • thanks person who 'disliked' it within the first 10 seconds of being on youtube :-)

  • @nzmusic101 Obviously an arsehole who can't make anything himself nor appreciate your videos dude!

  • @nzmusic101 Always gonna have haters subscribe for that purpose =(

  • track rocks, man. release that.

  • @Phreakshow91 will do!! oh wait...a label has to sign it first..bugger :-)

  • @nzmusic101 how about you start a own mini label? alot of artists do thst do get their music out and then later on mybe get contacted by bigger ones.

  • @JHpr0duction hmmm this could be a great idea and have actually been thinking about it more and more...

  • @nzmusic101 Yea man! and u can upload your tracks to spotify, itunes etc. w/o a label. Check out Tunecore if u havent already, and btw, ur tutorials are beast! :)

  • @JHpr0duction haha i have just been looking into tunecore this morning! do you use it? seems alright?

  • @nzmusic101 I dont use it, have thought anout it though. I do think its good and relieable. But i think u have to pay or something to upload a song/album...

  • I actually do it exactly the other way around - make everything after the drop a db or so quieter, makes it feel SO heavy.

  • @ssssn haha fair enough :-)
