  • would a surfboard wax scraper work?

  • @snowboardkid202 maybe if you had a big enough one

  • no offense but you used WAAAAY more than needed haha. go in a zig zag across your board and just iron it out so it covers the board. a little goes a long ways. save yourself some money

  • @cam21fr haha yeah when i was done there was a shit load of wax shavings, next time will be better hopefully, but i tore my acl on that trip so im cruising for now, thanks for the input

  • @dirteReviews haha that blows. i broke my right ski and binding last friday so i have to wait 2 weeks til i get my skis back. i thought that was bad i can't imagine how shitty an cal must be haha

  • Do the holes in your iron make a difference compared to a flat non-holed iron?

  • @stevey201 im not positive but i think a flat no holed iron would be better

  • hmm i hot wax everytime i go yet i swear im slow... must be because i forgot to do the brushing part

  • snowboarding in hawaii?

  • thank you

  • @Thetreetroll hope it helped, check out the other comments for other peoples tips

  • @dirteReviews it did i waxed my board and hit the mt today for a qucik season. the difference was like night and day. thanks again bro...

  • holy shit you use way too much wax

  • @jamessaucierfilms haha yeah it was my first time!

  • Cool board.

Yeah I think using just enough heat to melt the wax is where you want to be temp wise. Just from a logic perspective, it doesn't work if you don't melt the wax, and it doesn't help if it's any hotter, once the wax turns from solid to liquid, making it hotter isn't going to do anything for you.

  • What is too hot anyway? Got me a dakine square iron, put it on about 100 degrees and it didn't seem too hot.

  • @Skv0ra i think most wax has a recommended temp on it, im no pro at this it was my first time! i worked good though! but i tore my acl on that trip!

  • @dirteReviews Well the recommended temp is the outdoor kind, what you'll ride in, not the melting if I'm not mistaken.

  • @Skv0ra right on, i just put my iron on low and the wax melted so i guess what ever melts the wax, let me know if you get a good temp that works for you and any tips you find along the way!

  • @dirteReviews Trying to ask on a few forums and vids here. Gotta love temperature dial that says the actual temp the iron will be on.

  • @Skv0ra when you wax a snowboard and the iron is too hot and the wax is steaming it doesnt work as well because thier are chemicals in the wax that need to soak into your board and if its too hot you will burn off those chemicals

  • @Skv0ra I usually wax at about 130. Experiment with it and find a temperature where the wax melts easily but DO NOT let it smoke. If it is smoking you're basically just burning off all the properties of the wax that help to make your board go faster.

  • @oliv555 thanks for your help!
