  • Im wondering how old r u? r u 12?

  • @mimi100020 8 during this competition video, 10 now.

  • @Kokotakis wow so am i!! im ten now

  • Im wondering how old r u? r u 11?

  • @mimi100020 I was 8 years old during this video. I am 10 now.

  • wow

  • 1:16 hit the wall. BUT YOUR GREAT! BETTER THAN ME!!!

  • @bwzebraslol I know. Isn't that funny? I laugh so hard when I watch this video. The spot lights really blind you so that you can't see where you are. The good news is that the judges didn't see it because they were on the other side of the wall but up a little bit. Still, I was lucky that they couldn't see. :)

  • @Kokotakis OMG how do you npot like cut your fingerby doing an arabesc or whatever holding your skates?!?! scary!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @bwzebraslol I have totally cut my fingers many times! It can be a bit scary.

  • Dear Gia, that program was amazing! I am currently learning my full loop and just finished my salchow toe loop. Is it too late to start competiting? I am around th age of 13.

  • @SparklyBrunette It is never too late. Go for it!

  • Dear Gia,

You are a phenomenal skater. I am actually a skater too, but I am not competitive yet. I am around 13 or so, is it too late to begin competing. My dad wants me to get very skilled before starting. I do agree with him. Anyways, this dress is gorgeous! I love it! Where did you get it?

  • @SparklyBrunette I don't think that it is ever too late to start competing. My mom started at 41! Thanks for the nice words about my skating. I loved this dress soooooo much! It was made by designer, Francisco Martinez, who designs for the LA Ballet Company.

  • Yu are a beautiful skater! well done! :)

  • Hey Gia do you think you can skate to My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion?

  • @wluu1 I am dying to skate to that song- or just instrumental music from Titanic. I am studying the Titanic and have read 5 books about the disaster in the past few weeks. One of my Senior skating friends skated to music from Titanic and if I could skate as beautifully as she can, I would use that music!

  • Hi Gia I know I like to ask a lot of questions but, do you by any chance know how much Sp Teri Pro or Super price range from?

  • @wluu1 SP Teri's come in a wide range of boot styles and they have a wide range of prices. I wear the Zero Gravity boots by SP Teri and mine are about $500.

  • @Kokotakis Thnx and wow are yours custom fitting or something cause stock boots shouldn't be as expensive as that.

  • @wluu1 Nope, those are stock boots. There are many that are that expensive and higher that are stock boots. Mine are about the norm for doing double axels and triples.

  • @Kokotakis Oh maybe stuff in LA are much more expensive then cause in the bay area, they are between 275-475 or yea plus tax probaly like 500.

  • Hey Gia I was just wondering how much are your skating lessons? Mine are 30 dollars for 30 minute. Skating is a pretty expensive sport but really worth it.

  • @wluu1 mine vary from $45-50 per half hour. Ouch! That is expensive. That is why I have to try to really listen to my coaches and get the most out of my lessons.

  • during 0:37-0:38, was that a mess up like you missed your toepick?

  • @wluu1 I totally almost fell on my bottom!!!! Hahaha. It is funny now. I was in 2nd grade then. It seems like just yesterday, but that competition was 2 years ago in June!

  • Where did you get your dress?

  • @trishy123ify This dress was designed and made by Franco Martinez, who designs costumes for the LA Ballet Company.

  • Your great! Follow your dreams

And never give up no matter how hard never give up please. You have talent.;)

  • wow amazing for a 10 year old

  • @DagiDedicatedDiva Thanks, but I was only 8 years old in this video. I am 10 years old now.

  • You're a great inspiration for anyone ice skating! Wonderful moves! Keep going! I hope you make it to the olympics one day! xoxox

  • Hi Gia, im also 10 and im in preliminary going to pre juv i luv your skating you are my role model!!!! :))) i especially luuuvvvv this program its very elaborated just like all your other ones too!!ur awesome :)

  • @mamapata4 Thank you so much!

  • Hi Gia I'm 10 and skating preliminary on my way to pre-juv I love your skating you are my role model:) I especially luv this program:))

  • @jsisterzforeva Thanks so much. It was alot of fun. This year I will be Intermediate. I hope that I can skate well. I am working on my double Axel and triple Sow. Courtney Hicks was helping me today!

  • you did a really great job im a figure skater toooooooooo

  • @Kokotakis What color and stone size were on your dress?? Where do you get your stones?

  • @JemWykeSmith This dress had hanging things that the designer did. My mom did the white dresses and the red dress from the La Jolla Open video. She uses different colors and usually the 20's for size

  • I know I already posted a whole bunch of comments but wow! I love this program! I love the song choice! Glee is my favorite tv show! Do you watch it? For my skating program I am considering using Get it Right from Glee! Have u heard that song? If so do you think it would be a good choice for my program??

  • @angiangelluvsu That is a GREAT song to skate to!!!! I want to see a video of your program when you compete! I am not allowed to watch Glee, but I love the music. I just turned 10 and my mom thinks it is too old for me, plus I go to bed really early. Except tomorrow is a holiday so I don't have to skate early. Hahaha.

  • @Kokotakis Ok! I will be skating to it in the spring! When I get the tape I will have my mom upload it! Thanks so much for the advice!<3333

  • did the umblella come with the dress??

  • @CandyLove799 No. My mom bought the umbrella at a dance/costume shop and spent over 18 hours gluing 2,000 stone on it! My mom is the greatest!

  • @Kokotakis tell your mom shes amazing, you deserve it, you are very talented

  • @CandyLove799 Thanks and I think that she is amazing, too. My mom is my biggest supporter.

  • WOW!! Loved watching that....beautifull dress beautifull chreography...How old were you? on what are you right now?

  • @CandyLove799 I was 8 years old. I just turned 10. You can see my latest competitions on my channel in the yellow dress. Thanks for the kind words. This year I will be Intermediate level.

  • @Kokotakis you are amazing !!!! wow i want to be ale to skate like that !! xx

  • I love this!! <3

  • wow Gia! You are FANTASTIC! I am a figure skater as well and I am really inspired by your skating! Can you give me some tips on a split jump? BTW Gia is a really pretty name! My name is Angela but I kinda wish that my name was Gia!

  • @angieangelluvsu That is so funny- I am not sure that I like my name all the time. Split jumps can be tricky. Sometimes mine looks like a dog's tail hanging with my back leg, but if that happens, I correct by jumping higher and really going for the scissor motion. I practice holding on to the boards and jumping and scissoring. Good luck!

  • @kokotakis thanks for the info. U r really good also. I am actully believe it or not great at handling when trying to stop. I am getting shoes and getting prepared to start. Also they said it is good that I had a dance background. So just thank u once again.

  • @dance90x Dance is great for skating. Everyone has trouble stopping at first- I remember running into the boards again and again. Just have fun and keep skating!

  • YOU ARE SO GOOD! IM TWELVE AND IM IN PRELINIMARY RESRICTED> ANY TIPS?

  • @lindseylindemusic Once you get your double jumps- make them as big as you can so that triples will be easier. That is what I am doing.

  • u rock gia luv your video

  • Gr8 performance!!! BTW where do u get ur dresses???

  • @milkyiceprincess Some are off the rack and my mom adds stones, some are custom made for me and some are hand me downs or borrowed.

  • Wow you are good!

do you have some videos when you are 10?

  • @supersmileyy1 I have only been 10 for 10 days and don't have the recital video yet. But, my mom will upload it when we get it.

  • U also inspire me

  • Hey Gia. I just quit dance competition. Now I want to start figure skating competition. Can u tell me the basic steps to start with lessons and what I should do??? Thanks

  • @dance90x That is so great. The first thing is to learn to stroke and stop. Believe it or not, stopping can be hard when you first start to skate. Good luck.

  • wow, i wish i were that good!!!

and also i love this version of lea michele :p

  • Gia you are getting famous...lots of people watch your videos, you are realy talented..How old are you?

  • @tatialola347 I was 8 years old in this video, but I turned 10 last Saturday.

  • I love this performance! its really good and you dodnt make one mistake! well done x kelly

  • damit shes fun to watch good girl

  • tips for split jump and flying camel? thanks(:

  • @ImHurtXxXIceSkater practice your split jump holding onto the boards and scissoring your legs. My mom said that my split jump today was not very good and that my back leg was sagging, so you have to be mindful of it all the time. Flying camel- land with your back arched and press into your baby toe.

  • I know that I comment on ur things a lot... But ur just really good.! Ur at my level and I'm 11 :P u make me jealous lol.! But how often do u skate.?

  • @marshmellokissesDOTT Gia skates between 17 and 20 hours per week during the school year and closer to 23 in the summer.

  • She is awesome...me makes jealous too...You are awesome Gia

  • @Kokotakis Hey Gia! :) I was just wondering who comes to watch all of your competitions (parents, siblings, etc.) whenever I watch your competition video, I always here a bunch of girls screaming at the beginning and whenver you land double jumps and do spin combos; are those all your friends cheering for you?? :) btw, this is by far my fave performance you've ever done! It was FLAWLESS with tons of personality! Kudos to you! :D

  • @JemWykeSmith Gia usually has just her father and I in the audience from her family, but she has many friends that are skaters and are usually in the rink for the competition. Gia and her friends support each other, which I think is really nice.

  • Does she ever practice spins on skate spinners? (Those things that you put a foot on to practice spinning when not on the ice)

  • @Umentme Actually, yes. And, I always challenge my mom to spin contests and it throws her off. Hehehe. It is sooooo funny!!

  • @Kokotakis Awesome! I'm thinking about getting some, but if i ever challenged my mom, she might try once and never do it again. ;)

  • Wow! Your. Ah-mazing! I'm 12, and want to start figure skating! Any pointers? And yes, I know how to skate, and have taken some classes, ofcourse! lol

  • @theappachiprincesse Gia is sleeping but wanted me to tell you that practice is what makes good skaters. She practices all the time. Seriously, she does jumps all over the house all the time and she is constantly thinking about skating.

  • @Kokotakis OMG Thanks so much! Tell her that I think her practice has payed off soooo much cuz I've looked around u tube for skater videos, and she's by far the best! Also awesome song choice I LUV Glee! XD Thanks again! ;)

  • This is, without a doubt, my favorite program that she's done.

I love that's there's so much energy and attitude in it

  • Hey, when you say Nationals....do you mean like, the real nationals like the one Sasha Cohen skates in? How is that possible? Sorry i just began competition so i am wondering :) GREAT job.

  • @TheSkatingGirlDream No. This is an artistic program and there is a National Showcase Competition that is for USFS Preliminary up through Senior levels. It is for Artistic skating as opposed to freeskating that you see at the Olympics and at US Nationals. You qualify for National Showcase by placing in a local, sanctioned competition.

  • Gia is amazing!

    Wish I could do that!

  • is she on the olympic waiting list :o

  • This is amazing!

  • I acc love this!! xx

  • Gia, you are so wonderful at skating. you are so enthusiastic and you are so professional and amazing to watch,. i adore you so much and you have a fabulous routine, it just dazzles! xxx

  • W0W shes grown......

  • First of all, I just want to say that Gia is so amazing and I very much enjoy watching her perform! It is clear she loves what she is doing! Secondly, in this video, you say she won this, but I recently looked at another competitor's video Violet Greene, and it says that she won. I was just looking for clarification: Did Gia compete in a different category than Violet Greene?

  • @FatGirl97 We know Violet Greene and we absolutely adore her! She is an amazing skater and a good friend. She was in the character event, I think, with her amazing Cat in the Hat. Have you seen it? It is really entertaining. This was Preliminary Light Entertainment.

  • @Kokotakis Yes I have seen her video and I completely agree with you! What I was wondering was, did they compete in different categories? Because the titles on both your video and Violets video say the girls won..........

  • @FatGirl97 Yes, they were in either different categories or different groups. I think the Cat in the Hat was in the Character category. But Violet did win first place at this competition. She was wonderful!

  • @Kokotakis thanks! good luck on your next competition! when is it?

  • @FatGirl97 She just competed in Rim of the World and came in 2nd. She had 1 mistake in her program.

  • @Kokotakis oh cool! can u post the comp vid? CONGRATULATIONS!!!!

  • she's Great!!! I like her dress too!!! :)

  • WOW- great job ! I know the whole country will know about you, and then the world !

  • Oh, and how did she place?

  • @julianaqtpi she won

  • @Kokotakis Great job!

  • Love this program! Have you ever seen anyone skate to this music before, because I haven't! Very unique idea. (:

  • wow your amazing!

  • @blessedfigureskater Thanks for the lovely words. Gia will compete for the first time at Juvenile level tomorrow evening. She will wear the dress from this video- the pink one, though she is skating to Gershwin. Her new dress by Jan Longmire isn't ready yet. Jan was making Yuna Kim's dresses for Worlds, though Yuna won't be competing at Worlds in Russia at the end of April due to previous commitments. The dress was made by Franco Martinez of Hollywood for Gia.

  • i love this you rock gia !

  • she is so cute

  • I love her dress! She is so expressive too, how old is she now?

  • @7agplace7 Gia turned 9 at the end of December and is about to compete for the first time at Juvenile Level. She is working on her double axel and has started working on triple sowchow.

  • @Kokotakis im probably te only one here who knows what those jumps are.

  • @SnowborberTV no ur not(: i dooooo(:

  • Hi Gia's Mom!

So when she started how often did you take her? And how often at 5 years? My little one is 4 and loves skating - would love her to follow in Gia's footsteps!!

  • @surfergirljen At 5 years old she was skating public sessions 3 or 4 times per week. She had her lessons during that time- usually 1 private lesson per week, but she was in 2 group classes. The group classes gave her access to the public sessions, so it wasn't that expensive.

  • love it

  • She is extremely talented and will go far :)

    What place did she get?

  • Gia jest świetna !!!! Mam nadzieję , że ktoś doceni jej pracę !

  • @2000Olenka Dziękuję bardzo za dobre myśli.

  • gia is a fantasic skate infact i am gias friend on facebook haha and my questions are....

  • Wow. Ur great!!! I been skating since I was 2 and I'm on level freestyle 6 got any tips on how to stay balanced on a double axel landing???

  • soo good!! :)

  • woohoo gia!

  • Whoa she was so amazng!! If you dont mind me asking, when did she start skating?? Because, she is a really talanted skater and get ready for the olypics!!! LOL!

  • She is such a great skater! I see her in the olympics...In fact, she is as good as the people in olympics....If you dont mind me asking, how long has she been skating?

  • @TheSkateeeKatie she started when she was 4 years old

  • her dress is soo buch pinker and sparklier than mine mines blue XX

    shes really good !!

  • wow she is GOOD

  • her dress is soo buch pinker and sparklier than mine mines blue XX

    shes really good !!

  • ... This Made me Want ToStart Skating She Is So Good! ... Is It Any Easier To Skate If You Are A High End Gymnast? ( Lots Aof Balence Coordanation And Flexibility) <3

  • @jessandlulaaX I think that a gymnast would have a great advantage. Knowing how to get your body to rotate in the air, not to mention core strength, flexibility and superb balance!!! That is definitely a plus. Go for it!!!

  • @jessandlulaaX Definatley! I was a gymnast before i started skating and it REALLY helped! I exceeded almost x2 faster than the others and i'm pretty sure you would too!

  • great

  • I don't think it even needs to be said that she will be an Olympic hot topic!! What a fantastic skater with beautiful facial expressions. It is obvious she adores what she is doing and has pride in her skate. Congratulations and good luck in the future!

  • how do u affoird skating?! its so eccpesnsive

  • @SarahBesbris As a family, we make a great many sacrifices to pay for Gia's skating. I think it is worth it.

  • wow she is GOOD

  • what brand and model skates does she own?? and also what level is she at?? she is great!!!! keep it up gia!! you are a star

  • @leecallie123 Gia wears the SP Teri Zero Gravity Boot. I highly recommend it because it is so light, yet well made. Gia is landing (cheated) double axels on them and they aren't breaking down. Her signature gold blades are Paramounts and I would only recommend them to a skater with at least 2 double jumps- they are very advanced. I don't skate on a blade that advanced. I have all my single jumps and am working on my axel.

  • @Kokotakis she is amazing! Im at your level. I am just passing to freestyle 5 and 6 and 3 and 4 spins, and i have all my single jumps down and land my axel 70% of the time, and i wish i could be as good as her. Im 11, started skating age 10. Im terrible! :(

  • I see Olimpics in her future!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • awesome! your good! btw love the song :D

  • one word wow

  • this is sooooo good!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Doesn't Lea Michele sing this song, I recognize it from Glee. Great job!! You are amazing!!
