@anointedemcee you're right, but that's like arguing that an Amin7 is a C6 - they're both the same chord, however depending on the context could be interpreted differently. Using the G as the root (since it makes a perfect cadence in C), the chord is in fact a G13sus4 including the extension of a ninth, which is optional in a thirteenth chord as is the inclusion of the fifth, which he has opted not to include
Hmm. good knowledge. Although color without canvas is random pigmentation. The very basic is needed for a contrast; a background for the context of color. I would be wary of using words like always, advanced and "forget about".
@johnnyostrawb33ry nawits not f*** the key system. Its just that you dont want to let it limit what you can do because youve been taught all these rules. I think all the notes are relative to each other no matter what key you play in though. You can find some way to justify any deviation from the "key" you're supposed to be playing in. Anyhting you do you want to be able to justify it or understand it.. thats why the scale and alot of theory is useful
Good to see encouragement to think outside the box in harmony!! .. One thing though.. talking about Gb m7#5 is a bit misleading. Its actually more like Dadd9 first inversion. I mean you could call it either, but it functions more like a major chord II in this example.

the voicings don't sound clear enough on the organ/hammond sound you are using. Any chance for a oiano sound?

Try to look at the iPhone App "ProChords"
It has a great chord substitution tool. Far the best iv'e seen .
There is a tutorial here on YouTube that describe proChords pretty well.
