He barely beat randall's single season '91 rushing total when he got the record, and by your own admission randall was the better passer. i take it further and say vick was a sub-par passer at best. The only thing keeping him out of the hall of fame is his lack of full seasons. Cunningham was the first QB who was a true threat as both a runner and a passer. He was fast, athletic, he could hurdle over defenders, and he was elusive, but he was also a great passer. He was accurate, smart, and had incredible arm strength. Cunningham probably wouldn't make my top 15 all time QB list, but like I said, that's only because he didn't play enough full seasons.
Also let's not forget Joe Montana had an incredible supporting cast around him and played under one of the greatest head coaches in NFL history. John Elway had a stronger arm and better accuracy than Cunningham, and he was more clutch, but he wasn't a huge threat as a runner. With Cunningham, opposing teams had to re-work their defensive schemes to make sure Cunningham wouldn't pick up yards on his feet.

I was an Eagle fan during the Randall Cunningham era. Definitely the greatest player I've ever seen! I stopped arguing with people about Randall a long time ago. I know what I saw, and I never saw it before and I haven't seen it since. If the Eagles retired Reggie White's number they should also retire Randall's No. 12. He barely beat randall's single season '91 rushing total when he got the record, and by your own admission randall was the better passer. i take it further and say vick was a sub-par passer at best. In addition, nobody had a worse offensive line in history throughout their carreer than randall. the two don't even belong mentioned in the same breath. randall was also way less prone to injury... he never was even out a game until his 11th season, and it was a cheap shot that did it

The only thing keeping him out of the hall of fame is his lack of full seasons. Cunningham was the first QB who was a true threat as both a runner and a passer. He was fast, athletic, he could hurdle over defenders, and he was elusive, but he was also a great passer. He was accurate, smart, and had incredible arm strength. Cunningham probably wouldn't make my top 15 all time QB list, but like I said, that's only because he didn't play enough full seasons.

Also let's not forget Joe Montana had an incredible supporting cast around him and played under one of the greatest head coaches in NFL history. John Elway had a stronger arm and better accuracy than Cunningham, and he was more clutch, but he wasn't a huge threat as a runner. With Cunningham, opposing teams had to re-work their defensive schemes to make sure Cunningham wouldn't pick up yards on his feet.

some of his "best" throws were into double coverage or b etter...how is that Him making the REC's better?..isn't that the other way around...don't get me wrong..there were times where he made PHENOMINAL throws..but more often than not he tried too hard to put balls where they shouldn't have been..just look at the Buffalo throw in this video.the PLAY is great.but the throw is just up for grabs.Barnett leaping TD in NO playoff game with 2 guys literally on him. that's them making HIM look better

RIngmaster....sorry..you're right...I didn't type that the way I meant to say it..what I meant was people sy he never had the talent around him...which is crap..because of Jackson, Quick Barnett and Williams..however..I don't think he made them better...EVERYONE was surprised how good a pass catcher KJack was coming out of Oklahoma..and the 2 rooks were 2nd tier out of college and if u watch a LOT of RC's throws they are made into dub and trip coverage and these guys came out with the ball...

I was an Eagle fan during the Randall Cunningham era. Definitely the greatest player I've ever seen! I stopped arguing with people about Randall a long time ago. I know what I saw, and I never saw it before and I haven't seen it since. If the Eagles retired Reggie White's number they should also retire Randall's No. 12. Nobody would ever look right wearing 12 for the Eagles. I wish someone would do a video on Randall's greatest passes. Nobody could throw the bomb like Randall.

Randall Cunningham took a rookie tight end Keith Jackson and put him into the Pro Bowl and 1st team all-pro. Keith Jackson's best years were with Randall. Keith Byars was well on his way to being a first round bust RB who struggled to get 3 yards a carry. Randall utilized Byars as receiver and made him a better player. In 1990, Randall took two rookie wide receivers Barnett and Williams and raised them up into a potent duo. Philadelphia = city of short memories and selective amnesia.

Don't try to flip the script. You said he never made anyone around him better, which was completely disproven by facts. If the Eagles could have played offense 7 on 7 they might scored 50 points a game. Don't play dumb. You know the problem was the offensive line, which was one of the worst in NFL history.

Damn, I come in to see a video of the Great Randall Cunningham and walked right back into a whole bunch of haters all over again. I guess I'll jump right in the fight. Randall Cunningham is definitely an all-time great. Anyone who doesn't recognize his greatness just has an agenda. Period. Maybe I'll check out some Mike Vick, O.J. Simpson and Barry Bonds videos. Probably less hate over there.

no "agenda" ..i just get tired of hearing how great a qb he was...when he wasn't GREAT...he was GOOD...but...lost in the playoffs, pulled and benched in numerouse games...made noone around him better and was widely regarded as being about his numbers more than anything else...not to mention spent more time yelling DAMMIT RANDALL,...than should have been....he was a GREAT athlete....he had a GREAT arm...he was a good QB that's all

as for "all the rest of them"..MArino set all those passing marks with no running back EVER...to say randall was a better qb then Montana speaks VOLUMES of how ludicrous you are...Aikman, Kelly, played at higher levels for longer periods of time than randall did...randall was not a great qb..he was a great athlete playing qb...he was easily confused with disguised coverages...CONSTANTLY threw into double and triple coverage, and spent a lot more time making HIS plays than the teams plays

I don't remember Elway getting pulled in the 3rd qtr of a playoff game down 7...i don't remember Aikman getting pulled 4 games into a season and then losing his job to Jeff Hogeboom...I don't remember ANY of them losing thei starting jobs after a MONSTER year (like RC had in 98) to a guy who wasn't even in the LEAGUE the previous year...and I certainly don't remember RC winning games when it mattered most...playoff time. Those are BIG reasons why he's not in the HOF right now....

Thus, they scapegoat the best player in the history of their franchise. The larger question is: Why would you continue to bench and persecute an all-time great player like Randall Cunningham? nobody scapegoats Randall..however..think of this..sisnce u want to play facts..randall got benched in the middle of a game and for an ENTIRE game the next week because he was struggling so bad that he was hurting his team more than helping it...he got pulled from a PLAYOFF game because he was so ineffective he was again. hurting more than helping...the he became so lost and ineffective that he lost his job to RODNEY PEETE?..who..promptly tookt he exact same players randall had to the playoffs

aikman...show me in the NFL record book where it says Randall was the league MVP ONCE let alone three times...he won 3 MAxwell club player of teh year awards....different than the MVP...the Maxwell club College player of the year Isn't the Heismann Trophy is it? No .and I don't see you anywhere telling anyone how this guy or that guy won the college player of the year.u know why?...cuz it's NOT the Heismann.the NFL player of the year is NOT the NFL MVP...it is a great award..but NOT the NFL MVP
