i agree with an early poster that you should try to take more liberties with the tempo but make sure not to lose pulse. you did try moving faster and slower in some places but it sounded unnatural. i see what you're trying to get at musically, though, and i think this piece will be very good when you're not held back by the technique as much.
Hey LookItsJelly, Thanks! Im much better at it now. I got a scholarship for a free private teacher thank god. I will post it either tomorrow 11/12 or the next day 11/13.
Woa thats cool im getting free violin lessons, no scholarship, My teacher had to do community service :( Owell a lesson is a lesson. owell i was born in 1993 too! i bet we have the same expirence, but on violin. there was a time where i put 14'' violia strings on my violin because we didn't have enough violas in orchestra, C ya
Fairly good overall. Some of the string crossings are uneven- practice those slowly. The intonation is good (not perfect, but who is?). My main comment would be that not enough is done musically. Perhaps my teacher and I are on the extreme end, but I tend to take a lot of liberties with tempo and dynamics, and I think it makes the piece more interesting. Right now it sounds like you're too involved in the technical aspect- eventually you should be focusing on the music. Memorization would help.
much much better, very good. I suggest you find different bowings to make the string crossings as easy as possible. cheers for the comment on mine - i really need to work on this piece tho myself!
Quite nice playing. I noticed that you seem to be slowing down and speeding up at times where there is no ritarde or crescendo. Embellishing is nice, but not to the point where yo u can change the music. When you get to measure 33, try to make the A note quieter and the others louder. It leaves a effect of more than one player playing.
hey, well, about the standing up. i would, but there isnt anyone to film me because i like to film it myself when im alone. i do have a music stand i was reading off of it you just can't see it. thanks for watching! and thanks for the advice~!
thanks again. you kno i really do not know what strings they are,but i kno they are professional. my viola is a martin beck 16 and a half inch it is 100% handmade. the rosin is hill rosin,it came with my viola. the bow is the coda bow conservatory. thanks for watching. will post more
idont mean to sound harsh oranything..but...tryo to express ur feelings a bit more, one thing u gotta remember bout this peice is that u can shape it which ever way u want.
anyways..since u dun take prive lessons ur doing good ^.^ u should try out for a youth symphony if ur looking for a challenge, thats if ur not already in one
i been playing violin for almost one year now i lust got this sheet music an cant wait to try it PS i wish i played viola you guys dont have to go to an e that really starts to take a toll on your ear
Wow, you really know how to play the Viola. I'm quite impressed because I have hear a lot of not-so-good Viola players and you have changed my mind about Violas. Please watch my Video Response.
Wow, very nice playing indeed! I appreciate you posting this for us to watch! By way of suggestions: try playing once keeping the rest of your body rigid- let's isolate your movement to just your arms and fingers so your string crossings can be smoother. I have a video on string crossings that may help. Try not to tap your foot as well, as it may actually be affecting your rhythm. I love your tone- well done!
try listening to some recordings and get more feeling to it. Remember this kind of music was written for people to dance to, its gotta have a feel to it! :D. I enjoyed it. Keep on practicing!

Your viola has a nice tone.
animeviolalord 2 years ago
As par your request I won't be harsh. I will just say look closer at the notes. Try to get all the notes before you work on intonation.

I like the tone :)

I would just say that your string crossings need to be improved.
I' currently play violin and piano.

it could have been in better tune...in a couple of passages, it sounds very out of tune...And I think that you needed to keep the rhythm consistent.
But all around you had a nice sound. :]

Yes it is definately a Viola. Violins donot have the low C string. Instead we have a high E string.
