  • it works better than Windows

  • I need this on a cartridge, STAT!

  • I thought "P" was PORN, sadly..... it's "Pong"

  • Fun fact: Yes Atari has a real OS on the Atari ST computers called TOS.

  • nice

  • better than vista

  • nothing else 2 do ?? ;D!

  • Awesome =3

  • an atari os? AWESOME!!!!

  • Windows '79 :)

  • ha ha, yeah really

  • Eh, '79 was a bit unstable for me, so I downgraded back to '77 :D

  • Shutting down was rather easy, just remove the cartridge and reset the system! Now I'd like to see Windows XP shut down that fast...

  • shuts down pretty quickly if you unplug the power supply, BUT you risk epic HDD failure.

Great thing about ATARI OS: no moving parts on the target hardware!

  • Brilliant...I wonder what colour screen we get when it dies?

  • @kurisux did you get the black screen of death with the smell of burning circuit board too ? lol

  • Indeed.

Then some music video from the future started playing.

Something about someone never wanting to give someone else up? I don't know....

  • @kurisux OMG !! I HATE THAT SHIT !!! lol

  • Yes ! but can it get on the internet ? lol

  • Love it :=)

  • you need make some text, taskbar, and more programms

  • You never told me about the video! Or maybe I missed it. I really wanted this to go onto the Flashback Portable. Still as nice now as when I first heard about it.

  • Sweet! How about one for the 7800... oh wait, that was the Cuttle Cart... :P

  • R.I.P cuttle cart =[

  • yeah, stick a hard drive in the cartridge slot

  • atari can fit in a zip drive and a usb.

  • If I were you I'd use an emulator to emulate AtariST .I wish they had continue to make there os .

  • Fuck Windows!

    I'm going Atari.

  • lol u want say FuCK PC/AND MAC :D

  • i bet that atari 2600 can fit in a usb stick today.

  • not really an OS, more like a "shell"

  • kindof makes you want to eat cheese

  • jimmy i came up with the idea for the pong folder and you know it! :D

  • cool

  • yo paul...

thanks so much for the synt/cynthcart

just had to say it again

    seriously

    thank you

  • Hmm... that Pong game looks awfully familiar...

Oh yeah, that's because I wrote it! :P It's amazing what you'll find linked as videos "related" to your own. Thanks to Dragnerok X for making the base OS!

  • Cool

  • well .... I'm speachless ... you are a genious

  • wow MS Vista!!

  • Paul, I would like to thank you again for posting this video. Just to clear a bit up, I wouldn't quite classify this as a "desktop computer replacement" as much as a "simple experimental GUI demo". If you have any further questions, please visit my geocities website (dragnerok_x) or post here for a (slightly) quicker response.

    Thanks!

    --Dragnerok X

    BTW: Hey, Shinobi.

  • how do you get a file from your computer to your atari?? i cant find the cd drive :(

  • i know this dude personally, he's a genius with atari

  • Excellent! :=)

  • Atari OS is krunk! Alls we need is a Graduate, and we and surf the web, 2600 style!

  • that whole pong thing in the computer icon was my idea. ;)

  • LOL!

  • All doubts of that nature are answered by the core tenet of homebrew development: the more pointless and worthless something is, the more likely it's real.

  • This is just plain crazy. I wonder if that's not a fake?

  • you can download the ROM yrself from the link in the description.

  • Thanks!
