Praise the Lord for granting you repentance of sin and faith in His Son, the Lord Jesus Christ. A true Christian is indeed a new creature in Christ, they love what God loves and hate what God hates.
I like your testimony and witness - the simplicity of the Gospel as found in the Bible.
I see you also plead with viewers to believe.
I hope and pray they don't harden their hearts to the message. I hope and pray they submit to the pricking in their conscience, for there Jesus knocks and salvation awaits for those who 'open the door' (Rev 3:20).
The prayer you said as a kid didn't save you, because you like the rest of our american socitey didn't know what it means, you didn't gain fruit because you didn't ask for fruit
cliff, I accidentally removed your last comment. But I am going to answer it here. I agree with Romans 10:9. Anyone who calls on the name of the Lord can be saved. The question is, who will? All are dead in their trespasses Eph. 2:1 and slaves to sin. John 8:34. We need to be made alive before we can respond in Faith. It is God who gives us the ability. The elect will come to Him, because we are those who are drawn by the Father. John 6:44.
where we disagee is here, God has given man the ability to respond to him yet man rejects him this found throughout scripture, you can't tell me this is from my "tradition" because I follow no "tradition" you are following tradition. take a look at Isa. 65 It shows you why God hardens and it has everything to do with human beings rejecting his call because they choose to do so
Yeah I would say we do disagree on probably most things. You have a high view of man, I have a high view of God. If man could respond to God on his own, then the cross was not needed. And you most certainly are following your 'tradition', because what you are saying is not in scripture. The natural man, cannot understand the things of God, they are foolishness to him. 1Cor. 1:14. And the cross is foolishness to them. 1 Cor. 1:18. It is very clear.
The cross was to save all that believe from their sins, It was absolutley needed. I do anything but take a high veiw of man, I affirm that Apart from Christ we can do nothing! We can't save ourselves we are saved only through cooperation with God, we are saved by obeying him and heeding his word. Man has freewill yet man is the idiot who refuses to respond to God
Man has the freewill to do only that which is in his nature. That is evil. It takes God, giving man a new heart to believe. Jer. 32:38-40, Ezek. 36:25-27. All who have been ordained to eternal life will believe. Acts 13:48. So you deny these passages, because they trample your freewill?
Man does have only freewill to do what's in his nature youre correct, yet man has the capacity to respond to God or reject him when he calls, this is why God is a rightous judge, your veiw turns God into a wicked judge who shows favoritism based on not on man's freewill response but on the whim of God. salvation is a gift but we have to accept it
Where do you get that man in his natural state can accept God? 1Cor. 1:18, 2:14. It is foolishness to them. What do you do with John 6:44? No one can come to Me unless the Father draws him, and I will raise him up.
The Spirit convicts all of sin and righoutsness, God calls all Man responds favorably to the call or rejects it, It's that simple. God brings abouit his plans through those who respond to him, accepting who he is and what he has done, The will of God is that all come to salvation, yet because of free will he knows all will not, God is not a control freak, he has no need to be, it noone responded to do you actually think it would bother him? no! He loves all but will only save those who respond
Do you think God sacrificed His only son, to leave it in the hands of wretched sinners, to choose to follow Him? If that were the case, no one would be saved. Did you read John 6? Can you follow the text? No one can come to Me unless the Father draws him. That does not sound like 'ability' to me. The Father has given the Son a people for Himself. John 6:37. These are the 'elect', which He will raise on the last day. Like I said, you should study some more.
It takes the Spirit drawing, I don't disagee with that, did you watch my whole video? The Spirit draws several ways, one way is through convicting people when the hear the word, it becomes man's responsibility to hear and respond to the conviction and put the faith thaey have in Christ, putting faith in the one you know is your creator isn't a "work" human beings, even believer choose to put faith in all kinds of things (like money) When you place your faith in the person of Jesus-
This is where you fail. The Spirit draws, and will complete His work. He doesnt fail. The one drawn in John 6:37, the one that the Father gives to the Son, WILL COME. And the one who comes, Jesus will raise on the last day. verse 44. Is this too hard to follow? The faith we as Christians have, was given to us. Eph. 2:8,9. James 2:5. Phil. 1:29. Hebrews 12:2 says, that Jesus is the Author and finisher of our faith. It tells us He is the reason we have faith.
you just accused me of failing...think about that...wjho fails? humans not God! I guess I'm going to have to respond to you in a video, It's my one year aniversary bro, and Joel Rosenberg is in town so I'll get a video or a series of videos together just for you ok?
I said you failed on your exegesis. Notice, no attempt on your part to address the texts I provided. You can make all the videos you want. The ones you have already made, do not prove your point. Go to the scripture, and give me something. And Happy Anniversary. ;)
As I said, your video series did not refute anything. For one, you have no theological backround. You are just putting your opinions to the text. You cant deny what the plain teaching of the text is.
I am really glad you learned that you had to repent AFTER you got saved. You cannot be saved by your repentance, as repentance is a work and we are saved by Grace ALONE through Faith ALONE. GRACE is an attribute of God. You are saved by what Jesus did FOR YOU on the Cross, not what the Holy Spirit does IN YOU during Sactification. Please don't ever forget that. Too many Christians trying to do good works to prove they are saved. Faith is belief. Justification is by faith ALONE. Works will flow.
Thank you for sharing Kevin. We certainly do have much in common. I think the first video I make is going to be about my conversion. You were definitely blessed to grow up in a Christian home. I grew up with permissive atheist Jews who were artists and intellectuals who mocked me for my belief in God, which I had since I was four when God taught me to read and I read the book of Genesis.
I too went through the whole rock and roll thing, and can relate on many levels.
...again after three years with Him. He had to take His hand of protection away from me in order for me to see just how depraved I really am, but all of the Bible reading over the years paid off as I see how my character has been being remade. I am still a work in progress, and always will be until I see Him face to face, but conversion is not as simple as those who would have you say the sinner's prayer would have you believe.
Thanks for sharing your testimony. I can relate to the rock and roll, partying lifestyle as I lived it myself. Never made it to a band but I did play the drums. Praise God that he comes to seek and save that which was lost and to save those that are sick. Blessings to you and glad you also are a believer in the doctrines of grace. your bro Michael
Thanks for your comments brother. God is Great, and has blessed me to have some of my friends that were there with me in that lifestyle, come to Him. To Him be the Glory. God Bless.
Thank you so much, brother, for courageously sharing your powerful and convicting testimony with others. Yours is a very important message and one that brings with it the saving power of Christ because it reflects the true Gospel of our Lord.
"Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." (John 14:6)
We will keep you and your family in our prayers. God bless you.

Reconcile that with Romans 10, you didn't recieve because you had no idea what you where saying and thus, it was meaningless to you

And what do know what I believed? You have no idea. You dont know me. And what are you talking about Romans 10? A particular verse might help.
