I discovered this series after picking up an old copy of issue seven about a few months ago. Best one dollar I ever spent. It really was amazing, this guy tore through an entire enemy base, and barely even cared that he had lost his arm. He killed a bazillion robots and after he was rebuilt as a cyborg, he killed even more. Chuck Norris would wet his pants if he saw Grey Death coming.
I once found the manga book GREY from flea market for 4 € or so. I regonized it was made in '80s so OF COURSE I bought it. And when I readed it I fell in love.... I never thought there would have been anime until I went to search info about Yoshihisa Tagami to wikipedia.. THANK YOU WIKIPEDIA FOR TELLING ME. <3
Too bad this never got a DVD release, it's awsome!!!
I've seen the anime and read the manga. I like the anime better, mainly just because there's one character who dies in the manga but lives in the anime. However I won't say who exactly for the sake of not spoiling anything.
Have the dub on VHS and it's fantastic. I must've killed the VHS through repeated viewings. I plan to get this transfered to DVD with both voice tracks (doable, as I recently located a sub VHS), and the soundtrack on a separate CD (if I can find it, as I've only been looking for it for 12 FREAKING YEARS).
I'd like to find a full English version somewhere. I've got the Japanese language version and love it, but I'd like to see it once in English so I can get the entire story in my head for the next time I see it in Japanese. I know a few words, but...the plot gets a bit too complicated for guessing.
I purchased this video way back in '87. It's the Japanese version. I pretty much understood the story up until the Big Mama scenes. This'll be the first English version I've seen! Grey is one of my favorite Anime characters.
Classic Anime, I had the subtitled version on VHS back in 1994 when it was released in the UK by Western Connection. The Japanese language version is much better.
the music sounds like terminator 1,,, great music

I have the VHS too. Also a manga. The manga helped me work out the plot of a Japanese language film. I love the imagery in this.
