If the Velcro wears out then I assume you can just use baby pins or snappies instead,no?How much do you think you save by doing this method including running your machine washer everyday? How many sizes did you go through from infant to potty trained?Sorry,so many questions!
@MephistophelesMyLord I did not have problems with the Velcro. You do have to launder with the tabs folded closed though. Like all things, diapers will wear out and wear out faster the more you wash.
So much of how many sizes depends on the body shape of each child. One size diapers can be more cost effective, but they will not fit a newborn and will be bulky on infants. Finally, I think washing will add to your bill slightly, but if you line dry you can really save.
Does the Velcro wear and tear easily? I have heard bad things about the velcro not holding up too well and forming the pill balls and then not working.
Thank you for your review. I found it very informative and encouraging! My baby girl is due in a week and a half, and we have a 21 month old son whom we have just started to cloth diaper. Currently we are using pre-folds with seperate covers, but someone recommended Thirsties all-in-one's and we have ordered them. Hopefully I will have as much success with this diaper as you have!
I am leaning towards buying them cause they are like you family friendly. Especially for sitters and my husband!
Thanks for you'd review!!

Since it's open at both ends do you have to pull out the insert before washing?

@Blueskywatcher - yes you do pull out the insert. It is nice because you can use a thin (or no) insert during the day and a thicker one at night.
