Yea, of course indie literally means "independant", but indie music of this generation has developed into certain type of sound and genre. So calling a band "indie" for the sole purpose of the fact that they produce their music from an independant record label means your taking the name "indie rock" to literally. It's just a genre of music, lol.

These songs are indie, but indie can mean a lot of different things. technically it just means it was released on an independent label, though most relate indie to something that's unknown. personally i would label this as indie rock since most of it is closer to mainstream and i came here looking for new "unknown" music i hadn't heard before. nevertheless these are all great songs :)

Indie means it was at one time released on an independent label. In recent years, the term has somehow evolved into meaning guys in tight pants and tie-dye tank tops and moccasins singing like girls.

And even IF it's not considered "indie", it's all music that someone who enjoys indie will like. Chill out.
