I love the timbre and the relaxed sound altogether. Electric guitar has an enormous burden of rock and metal music if used for symphonic or orchestral music. This composition reminds of Pärt and Gorecki and I think is great example of the instrument being not aggressive. Great job!
@jameswoolwine I first thought that too.. But listen closely how the themes are alluded, returned to interestingly, opening phrase highly original, this is Cochran - written works incredible, even an improvisation always has more depth than first appears, and it is after all an improvisation - need to listen a few times. Listen his other piano works to get a context.
Oh my god, this is Cochran just --improvising-- here. As he's famous as a pianist his playing here with electric guitar is so otherworldly... I guess what happens when a world leading brilliant composer gets hold of an electric guitar.
lacks layer, structure, a theme, etc... but i like the idea. it's pretty brilliant. towards the end i like how the orchestra actually starts moving. it sounds so much better than just layering the strings for chords.
