  • I love this monologue! Great art can only come through great suffering. The worse the suffering, the better the art. lol.

  • racist

  • 4 people also can´t cum, unless they get hit by a bus...

  • 4 people were traded to the cleaning woman for a STAMP.

  • "I don't like strangers faces unless I'm fucking them."

  • @TheMrCC21 Its "lick"

  • @TheJimmypage82 No, no it's not.

  • @TheMrCC21 i don't lick faces unless i'm fucking them... actually yea yea it is

  • This show was 100x better than any of that pussified shit on TV now.

  • 4 people should be hit by a bus.

  • I really dont give a shit what ya do! KITH are the best...

  • At 2:23, I don't think that's Scott laughing. That's Manny Coon. It was intentional. Notice how he snaps right out of it. Brilliant writing and performance. And the really funny thing? It IS great advice. Paint. Paint whatever you want. Just paint.

  • It's actually fantastic, genuine advice about art. Just paint, or write, or sing a tune or whatever the hell it is you do and do it every day, as much as possible. Even if it's about tits.

  • {insert line of dialogue from video here}

  • the only way i can cum is to be hit by a bus!

  • Might be a bit biased coming from art school myself, but this is one of the funniest skits I've ever seen on Kids in the Hall. Just awesome!

  • ahh, I was just trying to make sure Dethklok didn't mean anything by it. You should look up "kith-darn near puked" on Youtube and you'll see it. If you want to of course.

  • It's like if Tom Waits did painting.

  • wow this bread I'm eating is really tasty

  • Your favorite member on Menudo...

  • Scott was having so much fun in this skit, you can actually see him quietly laugh around 2:22 after this line about licking faces.

  • Out of the gang Scott was able to play the most characters by far.

  • I think I'll go paint my favorite member of Menudo right now. Gee, who is it?......so many to choose from, lol.

  • After watching this video, I darn near puked.

  • @DethklokMinion the idea of you puking? well I darn near puked too

  • @DethklokMinion that's cuz you're a douche bag, please die

  • @colemckelviedotca Um, you do realize Dethklok is referencing another skit right?

  • @fireflyspider nope lol. and I own all these :P looks like the weed has gotten to me

  • Scott Thompson is absolutely brilliant in this monologue. I don't know if he was channeling someone else or it just came from within-whatever it was, it worked! I wish Manny was a recurring character on the show.

  • this guy reminds me of so many art teachers I've had

  • scott thompson is so expressive and has exquisite comedic timing!

  • As an art student this is the best description of an art teacher's life ever depicted.

  • One of my favorite sketches of any show ever.

  • This is THE BEST MONOLOGUE EVER. Ever. This is golden. What comedy should be.

  • Scott at his spectacular best.

  • genius!

  • Hilarious! It's like an extreme version of the "Four Yorkshire men" skit the monty pythons did!

  • its skits like this that make it hard to pick a favorite kid!...if im to hungover i photocopy my balls!...lol!!!!

  • "I was born in a brothel in a town that no longer exists!"

  • I feel like to puke!

  • 2:18

  • Effin brilliant.

  • I think this Manny Coon character was actually a big part of Scott unleashed. The part of him who feels compelled to shit on everything conventional and 'normal.'

  • 3:20

    Makes me laugh.

  • That might be the funniest Scott Thompson skit I've seen. I've seen lots of KITH shows, but never that skit. Thanks for putting it up.

  • I cannot believe Scott was able to hold it together after almost cracking. I would have completely lost it.

  • I wish he had done this character more than once. Manny's great. Scott would never have a hard time passing for straight.

  • i think that's zooey deschanel at 2:30.

  • I don't really give a shit what you do, just don't do it in my livingroom...

  • "I didn't have a piece of fresh fruit until I was twenty-one and it was a lime!"

This is so artistically tragic . . . XD.

  • Comment removed

  • thought he said 'flat and clean Xboxes' for a second there.. i was like whaaat anachronism...

  • What does he say when he has the realization about his art? "I had a *creed a cour?" I can only assume it's French but I'd still like to know... Thanks for any help you can give.

  • cri de coeur

"a cry from the heart; heartfelt or sincere appeal"

  • seen every ep 10 times, i dont rmrmbr this, classic

  • I love the look after he admits he's impotent, what a great comedian.

  • The best!!!!!

  • I think Scott was the second best actor in the Kids In The Hall.

The best being Mark... in my opinion.

  • 2:25 XDXDXD

  • I wonder why they all laughed after he said "ontario school of art" ?

  • every person in a toronto audience knows what the ontario college of art is

  • Please do tell

  • " . . . and it was a lime." CLASSIC

  • Dear Mr. Coon,

Peaches don't actually exist. It's just a false fruit made up by the band The Presidents of the United States of America to sell their albulms. Also, German Sheppards don't exist either. Their just wolves with a beauty mark on their face.

    -John Q. Smith

  • love the littlest hobo reference, thats fucking awesome, almost as good as his " littlest homo" sketch

  • Scott Thompson is special about 19 different ways. One of them being that he's such an awesome actor. I wish we had seen more of Manny. Hey, check out the "kids in the hall - hitman" video.

  • great monolouge. insulation tits. tits tits tits

  • Installation tits*.

  • I don't lick strangers faces unless i'm fucking them dies laughing

  • fuckin radical

  • Manny is the shit

  • this is an awesome monologue

  • I still take the existence of peaches on hearsay.

  • "Manny I said, what is it about your work that gets to the people? It was THE TITS."

  • Now THAT is good acting

  • "If I'm too hungover I photocopy my BALLS."

  • The only way i can cum, is if i'm hit by a bus.

  • i really hope those old people at the end didn't know he was gonna dump his drink on them :)

  • I love this sketch! People shouldn't over-analyze it. It should just be enjoyed for the humourous value, and Scotts incredible comedic talent!

  • Manny, oh boy

  • tits! tits! tits!

  • I love this skit

  • I'm doing this at my college graduation.

  • 100% not Dave at 2:30!

  • I feel like to puke.....

  • Artists shouldnt have kids...LOL!

  • Wish someone had given me advise like this when I graduated from art school

  • BTW, notice how at 2:23 Thompson almost cracks up over what he just said

  • the only way i can cum is to be hit by a bus"

    priceless...

  • oh no, no tits?

  • you can tell someone is a smug pretentious clown when they use a word like "patriarchical" in such an inappropriate and out-of-context way

take your readymade pre-packaged pop-psychology feminist "slop" away from my classic KitH humor, please

  • Sorry, I think I overreacted a bit. I guess the point I was trying to make is that this whole monologue is a parody of a character who was raised in a hellish environment and hates himself and everyone else. He's not just a misogynist, he's a misanthrope! That's what makes it hilarious. He's a complete asshole, not a role model. :)

  • My problem with modern feminism is that it teaches that the "underlying" problem with people or society has to do with gender. It's a rather narrow-minded and silly view, in my opinion.

I mean, look at this skit. The guy hates himself, hates everyone else, and has been asked to speak before a graduating art class despite the fact that he's an anti-role model. That's why it's funny. You can't create comedy with characters that are admirable. It's not sexist. It's humor.

  • "what can we have him say now that will be the total opposite of humanness and connection? Women's body parts of course." Because if you can talk about women's parts as separate from the woman, you're de-personalizing her, right? That's what makes the audience laugh- that his human passion was so far removed from his unhuman portraits. I don't know- this is just a theory I'm working through. It's Radical Feminism if you're looking for a name for it. It's my favorite feminism. :)

  • The humor of the skit (I think) comes from the clash of the character with his audience. With everything he says he shocks and horrifies (1) the faculty behind him, (2) the students, AND (3) the real-world people watching the skit, because in their minds people aren't supposed to be the way he is. Think about your reaction to him saying "tits," and how similar it is to that of the faculty behind him. If you're offended/shocked, YOU are one of the straightpersons in the skit.

  • I don't think it's meant to malign female anatomy. KITH actually has quite a positive attitude towards women (the "I have a positive attitude towards menstruation" sketch and their three dimensional female characters)

The joke is that, when it comes down to it, tits are what sells. You cannot get around the biological wiring behind the impulse.

If anything they are maligning the pretensions of high art.

  • I don't know if I would use the term "less than human", and I definitely wouldn't limit it to women.

The media denigrates human beings, universally. I'm as offended by the derogatory representations of men in the media, as I am by the depictions of women.

It is a reflection of our own cultural self-destruction.

  • I think it's two things: It's a satire on keynote speakers at graduation, who honestly do not give a shit what you do, and a decent amount of them are pretentious blowhards. Also, it's satirizing that "torutured artist", the guy whose suffering you cannot fathom, but gripes and bitches about it ad nauseam. If you want to detract anti-woman sentiments from this, be my guest. I just do not see it, just funny satire. And he talks about his balls, which is de-personalizing the man, right?

  • I understand what you're trying to say, but it in no way applies to Kids in the hall. Kids in the hall made a point of tackling issues like homophobia and gender issues all the time. It was one of the biggest parts of the show.

  • that's cool then.

  • @eagillum Ah yes, radical feminism, the kind that sent Sandy Stone death threats.

The kind that bans trans women that have been raped from volunteering at rape shelter.

The kind that cheers on a level of policing of women's bodies that, were it applied to the rights of cis women to get the same medications, would drive one to the brink of, if not the point of, violence.

The one that erases trans lesbians as fetishists and universally high-femme. Yeah, that's an inclusive ideology there.

  • @eagillum Have they taught you to hate your fellow women for being male assigned at birth yet?

Or have they glossed over the fatalities gap in the workplace, or the commute gap? Have they relied on standards of anecdotal evidence that would make Ronald Reagan look like a posessor of statistical certaintly?

  • OMG I love Manny Coon!

    Tits, tits, TITS.

  • Best monologue EVER!!!

  • I'm convinced this is the funniest Kids In The Hall sketch.

  • Tits over Atlanta lol that's hilarious

  • I don't remember seeing this one... unique character from Scott! So rare when comedians make particularily different characters.

"So here I stand before you, drug, smug, impotent..."

  • One of my favorites from KITH.... Thanks for posting it!

  • "The only way I can cum is to be hit by a bus."

    spectacular.

  • Awesome.

  • Wtf was that Foley at 2:30 or a hot chick?

  • I am almost positive it is Dave. You can see it in the eyes, and bone structure of the face is a little too masculine for it to be an actual woman. they always do so well, though, when they portray female characters. all 5 of them. they have amazing talent

  • I dont know, I think it is an actual chick. She is just a little weird looking. If it was Dave as a chick dont you think he would of had a part?

  • dammit, now I'm doubting myself...maybe it is a chick...but if it is Dave as a chick, I don't think he would have necessarily had a part. kith seems to do whatever they feel like. but I don't know.

  • It's not Dave. You can tell by the features that it's a woman.. but then again Dave -was- the best looking woman of all of them...

  • "and it was a lime"

    Brilliant!

  • that was so freakin hilarious!

  • Is that Foley at 2:30? If it is, hot damn.

  • Jesus Christ I think it was.

  • No, that's just some random girl.

  • This is one of my all time favourites. Scott Thompson does great character monologues.

  • In all seriousness, that's the best advice for artists I've ever heard.

  • ohh man manny coon is my hero

  • i loled when he said fucking

  • great character

  • yay tits

  • AWESOME!!
