  • Why don't I just buy a cable for my so I can plug a normal record player into my sound card and download audacity for fee from there web site.

  • its now 39.99 w/ free shipping on B&H photo an video.

  • can you use these turntables for scratching ?

  • does this have phono

  • how di i get rid of the humm?

  • Okay, I have this unit and it converts great, but the problem is that it also records all stray sounds in the room - like the phone ringing, and cat meowing.

Is there a setting somewhere I can change so it only grabs the digital input?

  • I HAVE SEE THEM AT BEST BUY AND FRY'S AND THE NEEDLE IS ONE OF THE MOST NOISY NEEDLES WITH VERY LIMITATED FREQUENCY RESPONSE

  • I heard Ion made bad turntables. I'm listening to one right now, and if that sounds bad, I want to hear what good sounds like. And yes, you can use this for casual listening and not just conversion.

  • Can i use this for just playing my records on my computer speakers not having to convert them?

  • @lenny121 Yes, I do all the time

  • can u use these for djing like scratching

  • @SpriteTechs

i wouldn't try that! if you want decks for scratching then go for the technics sl1200, these are for converting vinyl to digital, low end mind you

  • can u dj with these

  • I'm sorry,it says it's for converting. Can it be used for just regular listening?

  • @Gothicmetal000 yes it has RCA outputs

  • If its USB does that mean you can put it in the computer and play music on the computer? I don't have any records or anything was wanting to scratch some pc music.

  • Ion uses the same cheap-o cartridge that most of the other priced-to-sell phonographs, like Crosley. You are better off spending the extra bucks and buying a brand name professional turntable made by, Technics, Audio Technica, Stanton, etc., and install a decent cartridge.

  • I noticed he didn't mention the cartridge ! Next to flutter and wow, not to mention accuracy in speed, this is the single most important item, the cartridge AND stylus that is.

Serious audiophiles would find this amusing, or heartbreaking.... I think I' take a pass on this one. Geeks does have some unique products I'll admit and do offer some great deals, I have and continue to shop there, no complaints yet

  • I think you do allot with this, check out my record with a ION TTUSB turntable

  • These are just mediocre junk, -really- cheap ceramic pickup and flimsy turntable construction.Think for minute..the output of this device is what you will have to remember your records. A decent used turntable with magnetic pickup can be had for less than $40, add a preamp or if you have a receiver with "phono" input -you don't need a preamp, just a $5 cord to connect it to the "line" input on your PC..FAR superior, and will cost less. If you need USB input get an adapter $15-25. Audacy is free

  • Not only that, but who would want to convert a high quality vinyl to MP3? FLAC or ALAC is the best way to go. Or even 320k AAC.

  • that's what I thought, my turntable is one the way from shipping, cost me 80 bucks on amazon, and I found it on a discount website new, for 50 bucks!

  • @fresnel1956 guess its ok if allyour gonna do is scratch the fuck out of it

  • @fresnel1956

This is what I said on their official channel, they just said most of their customers don't own amps with Phono inputs.

  • Just got mine today TOTALLY AMAZING PRODUCT!!! Except it also records all the sounds in the room too - Anybody know how to cut those out?

    Thanks!!!

  • the cartridge isnt probably set up right

  • Any patient human being unlike myself out there know why it is that on my Mac, when I put the needle to the record I can clearly hear the music perfectly, but when the tracks are recorded to my itunes, there is absolutely no sound when I play the tracks from the computer. please help. Thanks.

  • i have the same issue... I think because the converter is recording from the computer's built in microphone...

I know you posted this a year ago, but did you happen to find a solution?

  • hey there! It's funny you brought it up now, as I haven't used it up until last week since then. I'm getting sound now but the new problem is it's uneven. Once I transfer the vinyl to itunes and play the music, I'm getting where the balance is off, meaning when you hear it on my speakers, you hear it from the left speaker and very very low sound from the right speaker. My speakers are fine, it's only the tracks that are transferred from vinyl when using the turntables of course.

  • thats really strange

but i found that it gets the best sound from the Audacity software, unfortunately its not as simple as the ez converter, but it still does the job.

  • @elgrano I have the same issue, low output from the right channel.

  • @jtripe

Tripe, what I do now, is I go into audacity and I go into "Tracks" then change it to mono where it says "stereo track to mono" and then for some strange reason it balances the output between the left and right channel. Try that out and let me know how it works for you. Sounds great on my end.

  • can it connect to roland sp 606 or mpc

  • too bad it doesn't come with a slipmat. It comes with a grip mat.Slipmats and Gripmats are two totally different things.

  • @blackpants what is the difference?

  • @LazerDude09 Slipmats are made of felt while gripmats are made of rubber and have bumps along them unlike slipmats.
