Honestly I read that the first information will arrive at earth in September of this year, and I'm guessing from stumbo that they wont be released until next year
they are, however it wont be like hubble, the pics to us will just be rubbish, but to a scientist that understands what they are looking at, it will be sweet.
I was lucky enough to meet Andy Thomas when he returned from MIR prior to her retirement, his private photos are by far the best photos I have ever seen in my life, I am so proud of him, he's a great example of what you can do if you really put your mind to it. Just can't wait to see the first live feeds from the return to the Moon. As for Hubble, what a fantastic piece of equipement she is, no words can describe what she has done for us all. thankyou guys for all your work!
sooo happy!!! yeah already knew *MOST* of this stuff still I am getting so excited I'm eating lots of Astronaut Ice cream and all that stuff saw the launch yeah I wish all the astronauts luck and that all goes well, and I probably am going to see the iMax movie when it comes out maybe not but my dad worked on this mission for so long so yeah...
Too many old people sitting down in armchairs. Instead, interview people as their walking the launch pad. And choose someone who moves their hands while talking and more emotional too..
The music. Good effort, but there's not enough contrast in the themes. Space is all about grand expanses with action and drama - use that for inspiration.
"pay too much" means (in that context) lose a life or the mission or the telescope. "unexpectedly discover" is usually an unforeseen consequence of engineering errors that become a problem during the mission.
We can only design things for the virtual world (our beliefs about what the real world is like) and don't ever get to find out if we are right. We only get to know to when we're wrong. And usually that accompanies some sort of disaster, because we only tend to rely on what we're sure of.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't the [motivating] 'force of science' ignorance? I think maybe the best we can wish them is that they don't have to pay too much for whatever they unexpectedly discover.
I was having fun with a polular notion of "May the Force be with you" (Star Wars).
What does "pay to much" mean?
What does "unexpectedly discover" mean? The missions are launced for a pupose. If they are successful or not is a different matter. I just want them to get the chance.
Even if they find any, they will not tell us. Think about what will happen to the churches around the world....they will collapse. To me aliens are proove of "God" nonexistence.
this is what USA should spend money on: Top notch Engineering and ingenuity. The stuff dreams are made of, that inspires people around the globe.
Enough with the BS wars (Iraq, Iran or whatever), spend money on renewable energy, electric vehicles, cheap space flights, etc etc

i wonder when will start seeing photos from the upgraded hubble??
LovebirdOfJoy 2 years ago
all photos captured by hubble are reserved for scientific inspection for a year before they are released to the general public.

My dad worked on it too! He spent eight years on Widefield, and he's the one speaking at 1:33. What was your dad working on?
BladerunnerNyz 2 years ago
well, I can't give out who my dad is on the internet but he worked on the STIS instrument I think and also worked with the astronauts.
DarthPickley 2 years ago
Awesome! We need this incredible instrument, and we need the work that's being done to it.

If this is its last repair mission, does that mean its going to be replaced with something better relatively soon?
nutropar 2 years ago
No sooner than 2020. Depends on financing.

Dear NASAexplorer,
You need to rethink your video productions.
Well, hope to watch more videos!!

Please stop making videos with such lame music. Don't turn Nasa science into entertainment.
