i had slp catback on mine with their resonator it sounded just like this.... might as well be a glasspack or straight pipe loud as hell on idle...now i got a magnaflow resonator bit it sounds too ricey when u punch it but quite on idle

sounds a little too ricy for me, i like the ss/tc's better they are deeper, kinda like a skittle (srt4 neon)

On your exhaust set up, do you only have the header & d/p with the flowmaster or do you also have some resonators tossed in the mix?

i dont have this set up anymore but this particular set up had no resonators.

I am currently running the ZZP midlength combo. its completely open. no muff or cat at the moment its so loud it hurts your teeth. i dont have any vids of that. no camera can record the sound w out distorting. but still keep in mind that you cant just throw an exhaust on and expect it to sound like mine...

does it really have a deep tone...i watch alot of cobalt exhaust vids and they all sound the same. its better in person sometimes. just looking for a good combo, i like deep quite drivable sound. not a honda shit. wat brand downpipe do u have?? any info would help thnks

it literally sounded like i had a cammed v8 in it. it was sick. it was very deep but very very loud aswell though. and just for your info you cant just slap on an exhaust and expect it to sound that way. i have a lot of mods that change the exhaust note dramatically. the cams, header and the fact that i have a gutted cat make it different from all the rest. i have a 3" cobalt addiction downpipe. i dont like it much really but it does the job.

Hi ive been searching for cams for my 06 and ive had no luck whatsoever could you please tell me how you found them and where. How much were they btw?

there are a few companies that make cams for the LSJ. im running the Jbody performance cams. they have a few different cams on the market right now. GM Racing made cams for a short time but those are really hard to find. Comp also makes grinds and they can custom make cams as well just like any other cam manufacturer. when you get into custom cams you better have deep pockets. there is word that OverTheTopPerformance is working on cams as well as ZZPerformance.

ok, JBP is hit or miss on customer service and they seem to take a long time with stuff. a lot of ppl dont like them as a vendor but in my opinion they do make some descent stuff. but with that being said i advise you to do your research before you make any large purchases. read up and make your decision then

I have a 2.2 pretty much stock except for suspension, clutch, intake, 2.5 dp, 2.5 pipes straight back to a magnaflow. It already sounds good and I was gonna go with headers next. Just wondering, will it sound even close to that with my slightly bigger displacement?

prob not. the cams that i have give it a crazy deep tone. yours will just be loud and raspy like most cobalts that i hear. maybe throw in a resonator in the mix and it may deepen up the tone a lil bit. also Tieaga why do u need an equil length header and such large exhaust piping? do you have plans to go forced induction later?

Thanks for the tips. I do have plans of hopefully going forced induction but that will come much later than I expected. I ran across an RX-7 for a nice price. Some chic who doesn't know anything about it. Anyway, I was told by many that the 2.5 for a N/A was the biggest size I would want to go. Any more would reduce back pressure too much of course. Being a tuner yourself, do you think I went too big?

if you have plans for forced induction u will be fine. u may loose a lil power down low but u might pick it up at high rpms. just keep the mods comin man. 2.2 is a great platform to build off of.

i go down to 2.5 after my DP. but to let you know that exhaust note isnt just the header and muff... the car has been fully built and i have real aggressive grinds. alot goes into having an exhaust note like that... it will be even deeper though when i go 3in all the way back

no i didnt burn any wires, and it will sound higher pitched...but raspy yes. for mods i have jbody stg2 cams, jbody header, 3"dp, 40 series, diamond 9.5:1 coated pistons, cometic .40 hedgskt, arp head studs, supertech springs/titanuim retainers and locks, 2.8" pullie on the m62, 60lbs inj. bosch harness, injen cold air intake, tons more crap im forgetting im sure
