@caliente2512 I seem to be seeing this argument a lot lately, so I've decided to address it: Buffy does not teach this lesson, because when she does it, it's not GLORIFIED. She suffers the consequences of her actions and grows from it, like a real, non-mAry Sue character. In Twilight, it is portrayed as natural, right, and good for the girl to be brainless as well as submissive to the primary male figure - this aside from the fact that said male figure is stalkerish, abusive, etc.

Also, Faith was portrayed as mentally unstable and later rather evil, while Spike and Dark Willow, at the time they were killing, were VILLAINS. Would you prefer villains not to kill?

@caliente2512 I seem to be seeing this argument a lot lately, so I've decided to address it: Buffy does not teach this lesson, because when she does it, it's not GLORIFIED. She suffers the consequences of her actions and grows from it, like a real, non-mAry Sue character. In Twilight, it is portrayed as natural, right, and good for the girl to be brainless as well as submissive to the primary male figure - this aside from the fact that said male figure is stalkerish, abusive, etc.

Also, Faith was portrayed as mentally unstable and later rather evil, while Spike and Dark Willow, at the time they were killing, were VILLAINS. Would you prefer villains not to kill?

I will admit that the Buffy/Spike relationship was wrong on many levels, but this was ADMITTED all throughout the course of the series by Buffy's attempts to avoid them, her fear of her friend's reactions, etc. Edward and Bella's relationship is also wrong on very many levels, but the difference is that this is ever acknowledged.

I really don't want to see the Twilight films after seeing this. I loved Buffy, Meyer ripped off Buffy from what I can see. Vampire falls in love with teenage girl - check (Angel/Buffy).
