Healtcare is not problem in EU! Greece is a problem. But this stupid woman doesnt know healt care in e.g. Finland is free for each. You broke your leg and that cost about 40-50€ . In Usa that cost maybe 5000€ or more without healt insurance.
@rosteriperse ...You blank out the fact that SOMEONE is paying the REAL cost of that Finish persons broken leg..the Finnish taxpayer at a far higher cost than if it was private.
@wangsta25 ..Under a socialised system if you are old, terminal or judged by the political death panels to be too costly they end up being the same thing...
lol! What garbage! Its so cool they hired someone with a foreign accent!
But the arguments are the same old BS from a corporate front organization. R=There is no argument possible. Those countries spend half pf what the USA spends for virtually EVERYONE to get good care.
The proponents of free-lunch health care "rights" are somewhat like maggots that consume the rotting flesh of their host. Unlike those maggots, however, they'll not metamorphosis into common house flies able to seek out another corpse in which they can lay their eggs to spawn another generation of parasites.
coverage instead of taxable salaries, primary medical care costs increased moderately.
When the government introduced employer sponsored medical collectives such as HMO's and PPO's divorcing health care from medical care, prices rose significantly.
When government attempts to persuade us that our health care is free, it's costs will bankrupt the nation just as those in Europe are being bankrupted now by so-called rights that are funded by other people's money. Other people will soon be broke.
Health care costs rise in proportion to government's involvement.
When I was born, my parent's entire doctor/hospital bill was $16.37 (No Insurance)
When my children were born their entire cost was less than $500 each.
Today the same care is often over $5000.00
When Major Medical coverage was introduced, only those who contracted catastrophic illness benefited and cost rose only in those fields and only slightly.
When in WWII govt. wage/price controls incentivised business to offer medical
I agree with a lot of what this video states. But Can someone who really understands this stuff please explain how one could compare cosmetic surgery to kidney heart surgery? With one, you might end up with a messed up face. But with the other, you might end up dead if it goes wrong.
If America is to survive, it must change, it must learn from others, it must drop its little fears and insecurity and dogmatic belief in their outdated ideals and invincibility and adapt, even if it means we have to purge America of those who would resent it. ALL reactionary elements of society must BURN.
"Americans simply don't care much, know much or want to learn much about the outside world. We think of America as a globalized society because it has been at the center of the forces of globalization. But actually, the American economy is quite insular; exports account for only about 10% of it. Compare that with the many European countries where half the economy is trade-related, and you can understand why those societies seem more geared to international standards and competition."
"Yet several studies, the most recent from the OECD last year, have found that the average American has a much lower chance of moving out of his parents' income bracket than do people in places like Denmark, Sweden, Germany and Canada."
"If someone points out that Europe gets better health care at half the cost, that's dangerously socialist thinking. If a business leader notes that tax rates in much of the industrialized world are lower and that there are far fewer loopholes than in the U.S., he is brushed aside as trying to impoverish American workers. If a commentator says — correctly — that social mobility from one generation to the next is greater in many European nations than in the U.S., he is laughed at."
FAREED ZAKARIA, commentator, on American decline and solutions to handle it
"A crucial aspect of beginning to turn things around would be for the U.S. to make an honest accounting of where it stands and what it can learn from other countries. This kind of benchmarking is common among businesses but is sacrilege for the country as a whole. Any politician who dares suggest that the U.S. can learn from — let alone copy — other countries is likely to be denounced instantly."
Damn government. I found a funny video about Government, watch my channel... it compares Jack Sparrow and the Govenment haha... the video its Marketing-thing of a company...but you will see...the video is like a little game... damn Government
Less Government in the USA means less beauracrats regulating the banks. The analogy to "less govt" is laying off half the police force so that criminality can go undetected. A mobster promises the masses the easy life if only they put him in power - he claims he can cut taxes down to virtually nothing and once he's in he lays off thousands of cops and then rapes the city. That is what "less government" means American-style - as proven with the failure of hundreds of banks.
It's funny how the average joe on the street believes that less government means longer line ups at
the DMV. It doesn't mean anything of the sort. Its all about BANKS and regulators and enforcers. It's about
getting them out of the way so that they can again establish a foot hold in the murky and secretive world of derivatives which is actually outlawed in Canada because it can bring down a country - see: USA banks. Only a few insiders make money - taxpayers clean up the mess.
Europeans eat healthier than many Americans, which has a lot to do with the system hangs in the balance. But it's still tenuous, as more and more people pay under the table for doctor preference, or buy private insurance to cover something major. And more people die from cancer there than here. One has to wait three years for a heart transplant. Is that a joke? No wonder so many Canadians come to America for major surgeries. Get government OUT of health care!
@tigerhop im from germany we ve the best medical service you can imagine nearly evrything is free you only have to pay a little bit for medicine and 10€ every quater of the year when you need a doctor.when i feel sick at night but not sick enough for an ambulance i can call a doctor that visits me at home in the next 2 hours totaly free!you can do free prevention. And we only spend half of the money per person than the us.but the best thing is every one has an insurence even homeless people.
@bmuralter really? I had to wait four hours in the emergency room to be seen by a doctor, and I had a 105 degree fever, and was shaking and convulsing. But when I finally did get treatment, it was great. In America, you only wait a few minutes in an emergency room. Unlike England, Germany has good health care, but incredibly high taxes to pay for it. also, one cannot compare german population to american population. different size, different values, etc.
@tigerhop Health insurance should be used only in the case of emergencies, like car and home. General health maintenance should be paid out of pocket, but the gov. has to get out of health care entirely to stop driving up costs.
@tigerhop you dont have to copy our system one to one but every rich modern society have to had a system that reaches every citizen and gives them the same top grade service. higher taxes (specialy for the rich) was exactly what america need. its a lie that higher taxes kill the bussines, look at my country some germans pay about 42 % but we are still the richest country in europe! AND the german health care system wasnt finaced by taxes!
@bmuralter No, it does not work to keep taxing the rich. The rich will just move their money off shore and outsource jobs. It's happening as we speak. we have the highest corporate tax rate in the world. The top 20% pays 80% of the taxes. The bottom 45% pay NOTHING. Overtaxation goes AGAINST everything our constitution stands for-you do not impinge on other people's rights by taking something from them by force. America is much bigger than Germany, and much more diverse. You cannot compare.
Respond to this video... Americans DON'T want a German system, period. Once we socialize health care,it becomes a slippery slope. And a main reason why Germany is doing fine with health care is because they don't have to create any of the tech they use: we export all the medical technology we create to them so they don't have to. And as the rich move their money offshore, the politicians will keep raising taxes to fund their programs, spending out way into mediocrity.
@tigerhop this is NOT true germany creates nearly just as mutch medical hightech products as the usa and germany isnt bigger than texas! Also medical research had nothing to do with health insurance! by the way raising taxes was the best thing u.s. polticans could do to fix their budget deficit. its a lie that higher taxes kill the bussines. befor reagan reduced the taxes the us economy grows up to the strongest in the world.there must be somthing wrong when a man robs a bank to get medical help
@bmuralter Really? I'll have to look up whether Germany is creating more med. technology than America. IN any case, the American system is based on the idea of unalienable rights, endowed by our creator, to the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness. James Madison clearly stated: "gov. shall not spend, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents". Our founding fathers believed that you can't have any more rights than basic ones, or you infringe on the rights of others.
@tigerhop not more but nearly the same. i think physical integrity is a basic right. the great idea of the fathers of your country was that every one is equal. that means every body have to had the same chances to get freedom and happiness. when some one (may be a child) dont get an insurance because of he or she have an expensiv disease he or she wouldnt be treated equally. health care must not be bussines. its a inalienable right and it must be protected by law (goverment).
@tigerhop a few words to the "high taxes to pay for it". at first, health insurence was not financed by taxes we pay premiums. For our money we get every medically necessary service we need. we pay about 7% of our wage when we earn more than 5800 $ per month we have to pay the maximum premium of 450 $. if you have a wife and childrens without own earnings of more then 589 $ you get a family insurence. that means you only pay for yourself and your family was free. Not good for singels but...
@tigerhop ... very good for big familys. a man who earns about 2500$ and a wife that have a minijob for 400$ pays 175$ per month and he can be sure when ever the fate hits you,you and your family will get best medical service that is possible with the latest and best medical devices that you can buy for money!i dont think that this was to expensiv for a loving father.i dont know in what kind of hospital was but normaly you dont have to wait more then half an hour when your injury is not urgent.
Ok, she doesn't know whats she's talking about or is just getting paid to talk shit. The example she gave of Holland going in the direction of markets is twisting the story. Holland has made private insurance mandatory, like Obama's system but has capped insurance premium prices. They are dividing medical cost between government healthcare and private. They spend only 9.9% gdp on healthcare and have lower infant mortality rates and longer life spans than america. It is still universal care.
The right way to fix health-care is how about we just be good human begins and take care of each other because we are all inter-connected and we are all the same species and we all have empathy. The tragedy of the commons is perhaps the most significant event in human history as to the progression of human suffering and virtually all other social problems.
I don't support health care. I don't support the system. I don't want to pay into it. But if I don't the government will fine me and if I refuse to pay the fine they will attempt to arrest me and shoot me if I resist.
I do not support national health care because I do not believe in coercion.
Europeans anre MUCH HEALTHIER people than the Americans. Their healthcare also provides them with assistance in mental health and relaxation techniques
Compare with Americans, with plenty of obese and unhealthy people; drinking sodas and greasy foods in large portions
To me (that is my opinion) making US obese and sick mentally and physically is an industry to profiteer, no wonder why so much opposition ot gov regulation in food and health insurance for all
You're full of sh!t. What you're saying is that it would be better for insurance company executives (beholden to their shareholders) to make healthcare decisions based on their balance sheets than for the people's elected representatives to advocate for what the people want. Do you really expect anyone to believe that "market driven" healthcare is in the best interest of the people? You obviously believe that healthcare decisions are best left to unelected, profit driven insurance companies.
The facts speak for themselves, USA with a healthcare system based on "freedom, good" and profit and greed, had almost a quarter without insurance as their companies reserves the right to insure the people of their convenience; people pays higher gaps than what insurance pays; and many people that became bankrupt to cover their health costs.Japan with "evil, slave socialist system" which people only pays ridiculous gaps, and no high costs
I pay for my government based socialist Japanese Kenko Hoken, around $700 year, and my dentist treatment costed only $5. I was in Australia I payed for freedom private health insurance AU$70 a month and for a similar dental treatment I end up paying $250 extra on gap, of a $340 bill.
If somebody will try to convinced me that Governmentis evil and Private is good, my wallet will disagree. As a customer I prefer the cheaper option and no BS argument will convince me.
I find it pathetic how nearly every naysayer here is using logical fallacies, conspiracy theories and insults instead of attacking the points in her argument. I am open to listening to both sides of the argument, but no one here is actually presenting reasoned arguments.
The reason health care cost have skyrocketed is because of all the private and govt insurance. When people don't have to pay for health care they will go in for every little damn thing, as well as not bother to take care of themselves so they don't get sick. And doctors can keep raising prices because someone else is paying besides the consumer. End all insurance both private and govt and health care will come down so that everyone can pay their own way like they did many years ago.
@SmokeRingsPipeDreams Yeah, tell that to people with catastrophic hospital bills. The reason why insurance is important in healthcare is that some people will face huge medical bills which no normal person could ever hope to pay, while others will never have to pay that much. It's therefore in everyone's self interest to pay a predictable sum each month, and be spared the risk of landing a giant bill some day. It's a classic case of individual security through risk-pooling.
@Thucydides411 Hospitol and doctor bills wouldn't be high if it weren't for the govt creating medicade and medicare. The govt has ruined health care by making it completely non-competitive. They have done the same thing with the insurance industry.
@SmokeRingsPipeDreams You have no evidence for claiming that. You're just stating it because you've been told it by people you trust, but who don't give a damn about you in reality. People like Rush and Beck. Do a little independent research on healthcare costs and quality in the following countries, and then reconsider your position: France, Germany, Japan. All have considerably lower overall costs, heavy government involvement and better outcomes overall than the American system.
@Thucydides411 Thank you for the thoughtful reply. I agree with you, our (the US) healthcare system is a disaster. I think govt caused it by removing competition. Europe has done the same thing, but you're right, they've done it a whole lot better. Would I trade ours for theirs, you bet. But what Obama has done is not a good fix. His plan totall sells out the the insurance and medical lobbies. That's why they approve of it. I bet they wrote most of the bill. That's how it works in the US. Sad.
@SmokeRingsPipeDreams I don't agree with Obama's "fix" either. I'd like a universal system, which based on the experience of countless other countries around the world would bring down costs significantly and not let anyone go without treatment.
@Thucydides411 What I would like to see, is the govt completely out of the health care business, and insurance companies being able to compete with each other. Rather than what we have now where one company monopolizes a state due to federal laws. (which no doubt iinsurance companies lobbied for) I have thought what also might be good is (if we got govt out of it) then only allow insurance companies to sell insurance for catastrophic health problems. Afrodable health care, and protection.
@SmokeRingsPipeDreams There is competition within states between health insurance providers. But more importantly: 1. What do you do about people who can't afford even basic care - let them suffer? 2. How do you protect consumers from predatory plans, e.g. fine print allowing denial of coverage? 3. Most people aren't in a position to know what sorts of a procedures they should have coverage for. 4. A single-payer system will always get more bang for your buck through increased leverage.
@Thucydides411 Your questions assume someone elses health care is my responsibility. It's not. Your questions also presume that everyone has some god given right to have health care provided for them without cosst. They don't. And lastly your questions assume that no one should ever die and that again, it's my responsibility to make sure that doesn't happen. It's not. People need to prepare for their own health care. It's there job to do so, not mine.
@Thucydides411 More, what you don't get is socialism does not work in the long run. Europe will collapse. It's is already beginning to. When the drepression comes it will be so bad none of you will have food let alone "free stuff" like health care because there will be no money to pay for it. And we (the US) are not sending food this time because we're tired of it all, and we don't have the money either. And when some monster marches across europe this time throwing people into ovens oh well.
@Thucydides411 And more, when I go to the doctor 95% of the patients are medicare or medicade. Doctors have raised their rates to the sky because the govt gives their patients free money to come in for any ache and pain you can imagine or just because they want some attention. Meanwhile I don't have insurance or govt health care and I cannot afford to pay two hundred bucks for a visit. Doctors drive posches and live in multi million dollar Mcmansions all on the back of tax payers. Enough.
@SmokeRingsPipeDreams I get it. You don't care what happens to other people. You think that you're going to do just fine by yourself, and let's just screw all those who won't. Well, some day you might run into difficulty. You might get laid off during a recession and find that your skills just aren't needed in the marketplace any more, or that there are just too many younger, more energetic, better qualified individuals out there, willing to take your job. And you'll be bitter.
@SmokeRingsPipeDreams And I don't think you know the slightest thing about healthcare, either in the US or in European countries. You can't even spell Medicaid, and you seem to think that doctors are charging sky-high rates to Medicare and Medicaid patients, because nobody is checking up on the costs. Actually, Medicare and state Medicaid programs aggressively negotiate rates with doctors, and that's why the same procedures cost so much less under those programs than under private insurance.
@SmokeRingsPipeDreams The problem is that you don't know what you're talking about, but you want to have an opinion. If you don't have insurance, you'd be much better off under a universal system. I'll tell you what. You think European "socialism" is collapsing. The one thing European politicians dare not touch is healthcare, because their systems are so popular. They pay about half as much per person as we do here, and the countries I know of have well-funded systems that aren't going broke.
Jesus Christ died on the cross for our sins, was buried and rose again so that all who believe on Him for the free gift of salvation will have eternal life. Call upon the Lord Jesus Christ and He will save you the moment you believe on Him.
John 3:15.That whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.
Actually universal healthcare in is cheaper in Europe than private healthcare here because of collective bargaining. No one consumes more healthcare because they think its a "free buffet". I'd like to see the money behind this message.
Responder a este vídeo... Best economist? Can you name a few? Here are some that work in the US and would agree with her: Roubini, Art Laffer, Steve Moore. Besides Krugman, is there another economist that supports universal coverage in the US?
The US healthcare costs have been pushed up since 1970 because of the reliance on insurance and government regulation. Let the true free market have a chance and costs will come down. If you are not asking what something is going to cost when you buy that item or service then the costs are going to go up. It’s a no-brainer!
Since the mid-1970s, the Nobel Prize in medicine or physiology has gone to American residents more often than recipients from all other countries combined. In only five of the past 34 years did a scientist living in America not win or share in the prize. Most important recent medical innovations were developed in the United States. National Center for Policy Research) Look at where technologies are developed and Nobel Prize winners!
The people in Europe need to wake up and smell the unseen subsidies that healthcare in the world owes the US for the lion’s share of the research in medicine. Yes we pay more here now but the alternative is a US system that is regulating costs and not paying for profit seeking research. (Americans are responsible for the vast majority of all health care innovations. The top five U.S. hospitals conduct more clinical trials than all the hospitals in any other single developed country.
i have some complaints about my country (germany) like everyone has, but healthcare is not one of them. You go to the doctor, he may sends you to specialists or to the hospital in which you can stay for some days with no extra cost at all.
Still we pay only half of which the US pays per person for healthcare. I think there is some serious lobbying by those companys that want you to stay paying such a huge amount into health care as it is. Ask any german, were happy with our system since 1880.
@mymom1234 The German system does work, but looks at tax lists: yours are much, much higher. If you look at Scandinavia it gets even worse; some people can be taxed 70 percent! It's ridiculous!
If our are alone and rich youll pay nearly 45% taxes, thats true.
But for families only the major earner has to pay and the whole
family has insurance. And half of the amount you have to pay for the insurance has to be paid by your employer.
Even if you cant pay you get to keep your insurance. Why? Because we think its inhuman. Your life and wellbeing are of equal value than anyone else's. You get the best treatment we have to offer. Im okay with high taxes for the rich for what we get.
until you stabilized than there send you home to die before you can get back.
no thank you. in your american view i might be some socialist idealist but no quite the opposite. i hate pure socialists even more than you do having lived near them. But health insurance no matter what the cost is the only thing that is unquestionable. Supporting the life and wellbeing of our citizen is absolutely worth the small amount you pay (higher if you are rich).
Obama indeed seems to be offering a people's government solution to all human problems. He is, after all, running for President of the United States, not for a pulpit. Substituting the state for God as provider has been the inherent common thread in all Marxist regimes.
@crazyfabio1 Yes this is propaganda. Too bad THIS propaganda is based on facts and reality, as opposed to ALL the other propaganda about this subject.
@trajan74 No you misunderstood, you should really research it some to fully understand it because its hard to explain in such short space, you should wikipedia it if bored--here I go. Voluntaryism is rejection of all taxes, as they are theft. Police, firefighters, teachers, post service, would all be private sector jobs in such a system. Voluntaryism is a radical philosophy, as radical as some of the communist principals that are in effect in our very own country--difference being freedom.
Insurance bureaucrats, similar to bureaucrats that like to deny me for pre-existing conditions.
The EU deregulated their financial markets a while ago and were tied to our predatory lending programs, that's their demise, not thier socialized medicine.
If you want real change and less government join the Libertarian party or research our platforms. I'm personally a voluntaryist, I believe that all taxation is theft and that government should not be put on a different standard than we the people...a society with voluntary charity to government would work beautifully--you only pay for what you beleive in.
Sounds a little out there to me. I mean my Church barely has enough volunteers for its various functions. I don't see these people volunteering to be cops, firefighters, or road workers.
And in this seemingly redemptive offering, Obama may be promising what only God can actually deliver, in the form of yet another, more eloquent, version of the same old utopian dream that started with Rousseau and Marx. . Substituting the state for God as provider has been the inherent common thread in all Marxist regimes.
Looking over some fences, in some aspects of life - The grass really can be greener. From that, one can learn and evolve... or do as the conservatives in america. Lie, deny, and tell yourself that you are the best at everything!!! And as a concequence, prohibit your own contry from learning from anything but your own misstakes. No wait, america never seem to make misstakes so I guess america cant learn from those either.
I think this is insane! And I feel sorry for the american people that suffer under this crazy system. I hope that you one day get a better health care system. USA is after all one of the worlds richest countries.
United states citizens benefit from less healthcare despite spending more money per capita on healthcare, than most countries of the western world and so on.
...and despite this, people in america argue that it is "socialistic" and "communism" to have healthcare under government rule instead of privatized and in the grip of giant share-holder-revenue-focused corporations.
Thats why the american people is constantly indoctrinated with fear of "the government" and "socialist movements" and crap like that. Seriously! Lets face it. USA is lagging behind in many fields. American children do less good on standardised educational tests than the children of western europe and many asian countries. America has a lower average lifespan than most of the countries of the rest of the western world.
It is after all the democratic institution of elected representatives, containing all the societies most vital functions, funded by taxes instead of, by the societies economic powers, such as, mail, police, firefighting, roadmaintanence and so on. The extremely powerful financial corporations in the united states is (naturaly) very keen on maintaining its grip on as much of the american society's economy as possible, away from the democratically elected "government".
I live in Sweden. The US health care system is, in my opinion, completely insane. With the new healthcare reform it has been made a little less insane, but still...
Most of the modern free world has moved the healthcare completely out of the capitalist free market, into the government system. In the USA, the government is sometimes even portrayed as something bad. Why?
@Nasse13 Right now, it is the "right wing conservatives" that are leading the fight against the "left wing progressive" America-hating totalitarian that we have in the White House right now. I laugh so hard at your silly proclamations. You're what we call a "know it all" in America.
@Nasse13 YouTube was started in America, genius, The PC was invented in America, genius, so was the Internet (and not by Al Gore as legend has it). So hate on the U.S. all you like. The fact remains that people from all over the world are still struggling (sometimes risking their lives) to come here, renounce their citizenship and become Americans. How many people are dying to come to your country?
Very bright woman. We need more of her type in the U.S. Sadly, the current regime in Washington is actively seeking to destroy wealth and prosperity literally by taxing it out of existence and replacing it with complete Euro-style government control and government expansion entirely financed by U.S.consumers. At a atime when we should be moving towards markets, Obama is moving away from them and making everyone dependent on government.
You have to be mental to believe this shit. American people obviously believs anything they are told. Why would McCain and S Palin be able to get 48% of the votes?!?
I'm glad I was not born in the usa. You idiots deserv the system that your elected representatives provide you with, under the laws they create, but do us a favour will yá! Stop harrassing the rest of the world with your war-mongering religous fanaticism.
@Nasse13 Uhhh, nice try Einstein but Obama/Biden got the larger percentage of votes. That's why they're in charge right now. So using your logic, you are correct that Americans were completely fooled by Obama and his false promises. We're still in Iraq, Afghanastan, Gitmo is still open, oh and now Obama is telling our enemies that it's okay to use nukes because we won't retaliate anyway. Welcome back, Jimmy Carter!
First of all: With the strange system of elector-votes in the presidential election, the winner of most elector-votes (the winner of the election) doesnt necessarily havethe most number of votes in total across the entire country. (You can win all electorvotes in one state by a narrow margin, and all votes of another state by a great margin, making the number of votes differ.)
Apart from that fact: 48% isn't, as you put it "the larger percentage of votes".
@Nasse13 Well, this is a strange off-topic rant you go on. But the reason the "electoral college" is in place in the US is to stop highly populous states from deciding the outcomes of every national election. Paring down the votes a President gets by using electors evens the playing fields and prevents graft and corruption by politicians favoring the more populous states like NY, NJ, CA, FL, OH. Makes sense when you realize that we are a "representative republic".
WHO THE FUCK IS THIS BITCH? OH THE CENTER FOR AMERICAN PROPERITY EH? NOW I KNOW! Iam VERY familiar with this CORPORATE SNAKE organization. They LIE ALL THE TIME! Am I supposed to listen to this idiot who probably is getting paid to mislead, and I doubt any1 will ever know who she really is.Nice accent though,= probably another reason they chose her to speak, playing to ignorant emotions instead of presenting just facts. WTF!! We all aren't that dumb. These people should be run out of the country!
Plastic surgery costs have been stagnant against a dollar that has a falling purchasing power for longer than the economic fallout of the last couple of years.
The driving factor is people are careful with their own money. Customers can usually pick whatever doctor they want, so prices have to be competitive and without the overhead of some uninvolved third party trying to make money off of broad reaching negotiations.
They received up front funding for the H1N1 vaccine. If you've already been paid a lot of money, you just need to get the product out well enough to fulfill the contract without getting sued. No politician wants to look dumb for picking a company that is so incompetent they have to sue the company.
plus its not poor ppl that give jobs so y would ppl vote on something that kills jobs like 66 and 67 in oregon business will move out to state like montana or tex or mich where there huting for jobs and are tax free oregon dumb
What we need is a fair system that covers people who pay into it! Oh sure we spend a hudge portion of our budget on medicaid. Where do these benefits go? They go to people who are in general uneducated, unemployed and pay nothing into the tax fund. Its the middle class workers who are bearing the enormous weight of the medicaid and medicare problem. If you are broke, have 7 kids and refuse to work dont worry! The government has a plan for you! If you are a tax paying citizen however, TOUGH SHIT!
thats right i own a small business i pay 15 k a year for blue cross thats with a 500 deductible plus 20% after im 49 no health problems yet my wife 46 good health y so much i could higher no one cause of that now Oregon has this measure 66 67 that most likely never let me higher no one thats said cos they are taxing what goes though your books you can ez have have 250 k go in your books but u make 17% only thats only bout 25 k so all bis move out of oregon so they move to states that are tax
@Messier83 so then instead of the middle class paying, it should be the rich I'm cool with that, shit I g et taxed like a mother fucker every week and the rich getting tax breaks For the "trickle down effect" bullshit those Motherfuckers don't create jobs either they take nice vacations and mostly save it cause they are fuckin tight!!! ..the ones creating jobs are small business entrepreneurs.
don´t take me wrong but in my opinion if you get out of Iraq and Afganistan and you stop feeding Israelis defense, you will have lots of money to healthcare ...
oh sure, and we shouldn't be in either of those places and we shouldn't be financing Israel's own defense, but that doesn't necessarily mean we should spend that money on healthcare.
Exactly! We have some in my country that say we should be "fiscally conservative" when paying for programs at home, but then when the govt spends money for two wars, Israeli defense, and an Iraqi embassy, those people seem to just disappear. Hypocrisy at its finest.
shadowgeyser : I´m forced to believe that our European healthcare is free because you american pay a lot more taxes than us and you have nothing close to that ... Oh, and by the way, if it was here in Spain the problem with your sister, she would be payed monthly by the government 1 full year untill she get a new job that fits her skills and the healthcare would still be garantee ...
Who is the European Independent Institute ??? Who are these people ??? Does she knows anything about what she´s saying ? what European mistakes ? There´s no such thing called European Model ... Educated people in Europe? Got to love when the #1 place for Europeans to want to get educated is in U.S. universities. So stay ignorant, racist in Europe and not contribute to anything in life. The U.S., China, Russia, Japan, South Korea will continue to explore space, cancer and aids research while Europeans can sit at a side walk cafe and be lazy and talk about art.
Europeans in U.S. Universities ??? Where ? When ? I live in Barcelona ( Spain ) and I know a lot of americans studying here and I don´t know anyone studying in the U.S. ...
My girlfriend had breast cancer, and she had a treatment that you americans couldn´t imagine for FREE !!! And by the way, you should see my "socialized" Hospital ... Better than many hotels. But, it´s ok, you can continue with your world domination... we don´t mind !
Also, Per capita and by a % of a country's population EU countries are more racist and intollerant. Norway has 12 million people and is over 95% white. There is more diversity in New York City and Los Angeles, Miami than in most European countries. haha There's a reason why the leader of Turkey sent his daughter to school in the U.S. where Muslims still have the right to wear head scarfs and be fully covered and not have Brits taunt them with drunken remarks like: "Dirty Paki, dirty paki!"
It's quite pathetic U.S. Hollywood celebritis like George Clooney, Angelina Jolie have raised more money and awareness towards problems around the world than any European politician or citizen. So I suggest you Europeans keep denying Muslims the right to open up Mosques in Switzerland and we'll stick to rebuilding Haiti, Iraq, Afghanistan and you can monitor the average rainfall on an all white racist Europeans Norwegian village.
Taxes and government is not charity. What you donate from personal wealth is. So Europeans stop being cheap and greedy and donate to the Red Cross and Clinton/Bush Haiti relief.
I would hope Europeans offer "some" aid in terms of personal money to Haiti too and stop being cheap and stop relying on U.S. Hollywood George Clooney, and U.S. citizens pouring money out of their own bank accounts. Where are the cheap greedy Europeans in Haiti? Europeans give very little to charity when it comes to personal givings out of their own pockets, they think government and taxes should be charity. Per capita the U.S. has given more money to Haiti when it comes to personal donations
Cuba can trade with pretty much any country it wants except the U.S., pretty pathetic Cuba can't do squat without the U.S., but maybe it can but just doesn't want to. I suggest you travel to Cuba first before making ignorant comments. Fideo has not allowed his people to have access to cellphones, internet for years until his brother Raul came into power and is negotiating with the U.S. behind Fidel's back. Europe has far more problems than the U.S. does. Focus on Europe's decline.
Germany, Holland are going to a more competetive health care...? Hardly. They are going towards cost reduction, preventing waste (e.g. prescribing cheaper instead of more expensive medicines if both qualify). There is no 1 size fits all solutions? Exactly, that's why about every European country has a DIFFERENT system. There is no such thing as 1 European health care system. Wonder whether making "informative" vids in the US like these is a full time job and if it comes with health care.
Fuck, what a simplistic piece of garbidge. Take alone the first "key point": "The right to health care ... means the right to get into a long waiting line". How derogative. Never faced a waiting list in my life and no, woman, it means the right to get treatment for free or at an affordable price so you don't die in the gutter (as you couldn't afford a private insurance) if you're poor. And guess what, if you belong to the 1% of rich people you can always opt for private clinic.
This video just dismisses European healthcare without properly representing how it works. The fact is, universal care is cheaper, and most Europeans get very good coverage. My experience is that Europeans have easier access to healthcare than Americans.
All this talk about waiting in long lines is deliberately misleading. In most universal systems, necessary procedures are prioritized over elective procedures. That's just rational and sane, because it makes the best use of available resources.
It's cheaper because they put price controls on their medical services. On the other hand it can become more expensive because of the lack of innovation for new capital. Secondly, not all of Europe has the same health care system, so it's rather arbitrary and naive to simply categorized the health care systems of the world into "EuRop3 vs. Am3rika."
The only reason people back a single payer is like the woman says in the video - they want someone else to pay their health care. The current US system is a mess due to gov intervention. The US cannot provide single payer since the basis of US gov is individualism and not collectivism. Insurance should work like auto ins. Pay for accidents not oil changes.
Yes, she´s in America because in Europe nobody cares or pays attention to this kind of argument ! Mostly of all she´s saying is FALSE !!!! NO EUROPEAN WOULD BELIEVE THIS VIDEO !!! MOST OF THE EUROPEAN SOCIATY WOLD NEVER LET TAKE WAY THE SYSTEM WE HAVE NOW !!!
No one is fooling "us people". I have been in healthcare for over 20 years, in the midst of HMO's, PHS and sat at meetings where individual healthcare is based on how much money we have left in the pot. I also have a very good friend in the Netherlands practicing healthcare. Sorry Angelo, you are picking at the wrong American.
Great video. I am dissappointed though that some fellow Americans I know still do NOT get it! Some think that this expensive "Universal Healthcare" will give lower income persons "good" health insurance and will stick it to the wealthy insurance companies. They don't realize that gov.'t healthcare will really be a disaster to the working folks more than ANYONE else, ultimately! Thanks, Ms. Van den Broek
The U.S. system is not perfect and has many faults just like every country does. One way to make U.S. healthcare better for all is to have real proper TORT reform and put a cap on lawyer's fees, that's a start. There also needs to be thousands and thousands of more smaller community insurance companies in the smaller cities and towns sort of like smaller banks to give people more options, choices and more competition, there are also many many more ways to make insurance more affordable.
More Europeans go to Anadolu Health Centre in Turkey for treatment. Every year, Anadolu Health Centre in Istanbul, is seeing more Europeans come to it for a range of affordable medical treatments at prices well below those in their home country. It has a strategic agreement with the Johns Hopkins University Medical Faculty Hospital. Johns Hopkins with a century old experience was selected the best hospital in USA. consecutively for 16 years by the annual US News & World Report.
Evidently AHC offers only four areas of treatment: cyberknife, IVF treatments, plastic surgery and orthopaedic surgery, hardly a range options and hardly affordable. How will a lower middle class person from Scotland be able to afford to travel and afford accomodations in Turkey, which is 2000 miles away? Harldy practical.
#1 place for Canadians to get hip replacements is in Ohio, #1 place for Canadians to get knee replacements is in Michigan. Over 85% of the world's drugs to fight cancer, aids and other diseases are created in the U.S.. Maybe if EU countries didn't take off 6 months of the year to be lazy and go on vacation they could work harder for new research to fight diseases instead of ask Obama: "Come save us, fix global warming, give us something, acknowledge us.!!"
Wow. I think most Europeans, especially those outside of Germany, France, Italy and Britian, would be shocked to learn that they are allowed six months of vacation of year. And do you really believed in the 50 hour + work-week as a vehicle of happiness? Why the hatred of Europeans?
"give us something". Didn't Obama come to Eur. begging for money and now troops? Give us something, indeed. You're living in the past.
"Come save us" In what aspect? Militarily? From what? From you perhaps? "fix global warming". We actually try. Not easy if someone keeps causing it. "acknowledge us". What for? The sour truth is, Eur. doesn't care much about the US anymore. It goes its own way. Yeah, sends a few troops as in "hey, we're participating in this charade, or not?" and that's it.
Also, people from around the world in the millions don't flock to any European country to get surgery and cancer treatment but the U.S. is the #1 country for millions of people to get surgery like the president of Italy who got care here. Also, under U.S. law everyone gets into the ER and no one is turned away, so the socialist lying media in other countries lie often about the U.S.. WE DON'T WANT SOCIALIZED MEDICINE HERE!
Thank you for making this point, which shows that healthcare in the US is absolutely affordable for rich folks, who happen to be the ones travelling to the US for treatment. If you're poor in this country, and oftimes middle class, you will not receive the healthcare of a Silvio Berlusconi. That's sad. How is it that rich foreigners have better access to American medicine than we do?
The U.S. also has the highest survival rates for cancer patients on earth, anywhere from 12% to 20% higher than any other country. There are also plenty of videos online showing how bad socialized medicine is, babies being born in the hallways
Healtcare is not problem in EU! Greece is a problem. But this stupid woman doesnt know healt care in e.g. Finland is free for each. You broke your leg and that cost about 40-50€ . In Usa that cost maybe 5000€ or more without healt insurance.

But the arguments are the same old BS from a corporate front organization. R=There is no argument possible. Those countries spend half pf what the USA spends for virtually EVERYONE to get good care.

coverage instead of taxable salaries, primary medical care costs increased moderately.
Other people will soon be broke.
j1a2r34 6 months ago
Health care costs rise in proportion to government's involvement.
When I was born, my parent's entire doctor/hospital bill was $16.37 (No Insurance)
When my children were born their entire cost was less than $500 each.
Today the same care is often over $5000.00
When Major Medical coverage was introduced, only those who contracted catastrophic illness benefited and cost rose only in those fields and only slightly.
When in WWII govt. wage/price controls incentivised business to offer medical

If America is to survive, it must change, it must learn from others, it must drop its little fears and insecurity and dogmatic belief in their outdated ideals and invincibility and adapt, even if it means we have to purge America of those who would resent it. ALL reactionary elements of society must BURN.
TheVoiceOfReason93 10 months ago
"Americans simply don't care much, know much or want to learn much about the outside world. We think of America as a globalized society because it has been at the center of the forces of globalization. But actually, the American economy is quite insular; exports account for only about 10% of it. Compare that with the many European countries where half the economy is trade-related, and you can understand why those societies seem more geared to international standards and competition."
TheVoiceOfReason93 10 months ago

That is what "less government" means American-style - as proven with the failure of hundreds of banks.
civicnation4two 10 months ago
It's funny how the average joe on the street believes that less government means longer line ups at
the DMV. It doesn't mean anything of the sort. Its all about BANKS and regulators and enforcers. It's about
getting them out of the way so that they can again establish a foot hold in the murky and secretive world of derivatives which is actually outlawed in Canada because it can bring down a country - see: USA banks. Only a few insiders make money - taxpayers clean up the mess.
civicnation4two 10 months ago

And we only spend half of the money per person than the us.but the best thing is every one has an insurence even homeless people.
bmuralter 7 months ago
@bmuralter really? I had to wait four hours in the emergency room to be seen by a doctor, and I had a 105 degree fever, and was shaking and convulsing. But when I finally did get treatment, it was great. In America, you only wait a few minutes in an emergency room. Unlike England, Germany has good health care, but incredibly high taxes to pay for it. also, one cannot compare german population to american population. different size, different values, etc.
tigerhop 7 months ago
@tigerhop Health insurance should be used only in the case of emergencies, like car and home. General health maintenance should be paid out of pocket, but the gov. has to get out of health care entirely to stop driving up costs.
tigerhop 7 months ago
@tigerhop you dont have to copy our system one to one but every rich modern society have to had a system that reaches every citizen and gives them the same top grade service. higher taxes (specialy for the rich) was exactly what america need. its a lie that higher taxes kill the bussines, look at my country some germans pay about 42 % but we are still the richest country in europe! AND the german health care system wasnt finaced by taxes!
bmuralter 7 months ago
@bmuralter No, it does not work to keep taxing the rich. The rich will just move their money off shore and outsource jobs. It's happening as we speak. we have the highest corporate tax rate in the world. The top 20% pays 80% of the taxes. The bottom 45% pay NOTHING. Overtaxation goes AGAINST everything our constitution stands for-you do not impinge on other people's rights by taking something from them by force. America is much bigger than Germany, and much more diverse. You cannot compare.
tigerhop 7 months ago
Respond to this video... Americans DON'T want a German system, period. Once we socialize health care,it becomes a slippery slope. And a main reason why Germany is doing fine with health care is because they don't have to create any of the tech they use: we export all the medical technology we create to them so they don't have to. And as the rich move their money offshore, the politicians will keep raising taxes to fund their programs, spending out way into mediocrity.
tigerhop 7 months ago
@tigerhop this is NOT true germany creates nearly just as mutch medical hightech products as the usa and germany isnt bigger than texas! Also medical research had nothing to do with health insurance! by the way raising taxes was the best thing u.s. polticans could do to fix their budget deficit. its a lie that higher taxes kill the bussines. befor reagan reduced the taxes the us economy grows up to the strongest in the world.there must be somthing wrong when a man robs a bank to get medical help
bmuralter 7 months ago
@bmuralter Really? I'll have to look up whether Germany is creating more med. technology than America. IN any case, the American system is based on the idea of unalienable rights, endowed by our creator, to the pursuit of life, liberty and happiness. James Madison clearly stated: "gov. shall not spend, on objects of benevolence, the money of their constituents". Our founding fathers believed that you can't have any more rights than basic ones, or you infringe on the rights of others.
tigerhop 7 months ago
@tigerhop not more but nearly the same. i think physical integrity is a basic right. the great idea of the fathers of your country was that every one is equal. that means every body have to had the same chances to get freedom and happiness. when some one (may be a child) dont get an insurance because of he or she have an expensiv disease he or she wouldnt be treated equally. health care must not be bussines. its a inalienable right and it must be protected by law (goverment).
bmuralter 7 months ago
@tigerhop a few words to the "high taxes to pay for it". at first, health insurence was not financed by taxes we pay premiums. For our money we get every medically necessary service we need. we pay about 7% of our wage when we earn more than 5800 $ per month we have to pay the maximum premium of 450 $. if you have a wife and childrens without own earnings of more then 589 $ you get a family insurence. that means you only pay for yourself and your family was free. Not good for singels but...
bmuralter 7 months ago

Other fact of Europeans vs Americans
Europeans anre MUCH HEALTHIER people than the Americans. Their healthcare also provides them with assistance in mental health and relaxation techniques
Compare with Americans, with plenty of obese and unhealthy people; drinking sodas and greasy foods in large portions
To me (that is my opinion) making US obese and sick mentally and physically is an industry to profiteer, no wonder why so much opposition ot gov regulation in food and health insurance for all
AmaruRuna 11 months ago
You're full of sh!t. What you're saying is that it would be better for insurance company executives (beholden to their shareholders) to make healthcare decisions based on their balance sheets than for the people's elected representatives to advocate for what the people want. Do you really expect anyone to believe that "market driven" healthcare is in the best interest of the people? You obviously believe that healthcare decisions are best left to unelected, profit driven insurance companies.
jfrancal2007 11 months ago
@jfrancal2007
Its all about GREED disguised as FREEDOM

What a lot of BS
I pay for my government based socialist Japanese Kenko Hoken, around $700 year, and my dentist treatment costed only $5. I was in Australia I payed for freedom private health insurance AU$70 a month and for a similar dental treatment I end up paying $250 extra on gap, of a $340 bill.
If somebody will try to convinced me that Governmentis evil and Private is good, my wallet will disagree. As a customer I prefer the cheaper option and no BS argument will convince me.

bxjam85 11 months ago
The reason health care cost have skyrocketed is because of all the private and govt insurance. When people don't have to pay for health care they will go in for every little damn thing, as well as not bother to take care of themselves so they don't get sick. And doctors can keep raising prices because someone else is paying besides the consumer. End all insurance both private and govt and health care will come down so that everyone can pay their own way like they did many years ago.
SmokeRingsPipeDreams 1 year ago
@SmokeRingsPipeDreams Yeah, tell that to people with catastrophic hospital bills. The reason why insurance is important in healthcare is that some people will face huge medical bills which no normal person could ever hope to pay, while others will never have to pay that much. It's therefore in everyone's self interest to pay a predictable sum each month, and be spared the risk of landing a giant bill some day. It's a classic case of individual security through risk-pooling.
Thucydides411 11 months ago
@Thucydides411 Hospitol and doctor bills wouldn't be high if it weren't for the govt creating medicade and medicare. The govt has ruined health care by making it completely non-competitive. They have done the same thing with the insurance industry.
SmokeRingsPipeDreams 11 months ago
@SmokeRingsPipeDreams You have no evidence for claiming that. You're just stating it because you've been told it by people you trust, but who don't give a damn about you in reality. People like Rush and Beck. Do a little independent research on healthcare costs and quality in the following countries, and then reconsider your position: France, Germany, Japan. All have considerably lower overall costs, heavy government involvement and better outcomes overall than the American system.
Thucydides411 11 months ago
@Thucydides411 Thank you for the thoughtful reply. I agree with you, our (the US) healthcare system is a disaster. I think govt caused it by removing competition. Europe has done the same thing, but you're right, they've done it a whole lot better. Would I trade ours for theirs, you bet. But what Obama has done is not a good fix. His plan totall sells out the the insurance and medical lobbies. That's why they approve of it. I bet they wrote most of the bill. That's how it works in the US. Sad.
SmokeRingsPipeDreams 11 months ago
@SmokeRingsPipeDreams I don't agree with Obama's "fix" either. I'd like a universal system, which based on the experience of countless other countries around the world would bring down costs significantly and not let anyone go without treatment.
Thucydides411 11 months ago
@Thucydides411 What I would like to see, is the govt completely out of the health care business, and insurance companies being able to compete with each other. Rather than what we have now where one company monopolizes a state due to federal laws. (which no doubt iinsurance companies lobbied for) I have thought what also might be good is (if we got govt out of it) then only allow insurance companies to sell insurance for catastrophic health problems. Afrodable health care, and protection.
SmokeRingsPipeDreams 11 months ago
@SmokeRingsPipeDreams There is competition within states between health insurance providers. But more importantly: 1. What do you do about people who can't afford even basic care - let them suffer? 2. How do you protect consumers from predatory plans, e.g. fine print allowing denial of coverage? 3. Most people aren't in a position to know what sorts of a procedures they should have coverage for. 4. A single-payer system will always get more bang for your buck through increased leverage.
Thucydides411 11 months ago
@Thucydides411 Your questions assume someone elses health care is my responsibility. It's not. Your questions also presume that everyone has some god given right to have health care provided for them without cosst. They don't. And lastly your questions assume that no one should ever die and that again, it's my responsibility to make sure that doesn't happen. It's not. People need to prepare for their own health care. It's there job to do so, not mine.
SmokeRingsPipeDreams 11 months ago
@Thucydides411 More, what you don't get is socialism does not work in the long run. Europe will collapse. It's is already beginning to. When the drepression comes it will be so bad none of you will have food let alone "free stuff" like health care because there will be no money to pay for it. And we (the US) are not sending food this time because we're tired of it all, and we don't have the money either. And when some monster marches across europe this time throwing people into ovens oh well.
SmokeRingsPipeDreams 11 months ago
@Thucydides411 And more, when I go to the doctor 95% of the patients are medicare or medicade. Doctors have raised their rates to the sky because the govt gives their patients free money to come in for any ache and pain you can imagine or just because they want some attention. Meanwhile I don't have insurance or govt health care and I cannot afford to pay two hundred bucks for a visit. Doctors drive posches and live in multi million dollar Mcmansions all on the back of tax payers. Enough.
SmokeRingsPipeDreams 11 months ago
@SmokeRingsPipeDreams I get it. You don't care what happens to other people. You think that you're going to do just fine by yourself, and let's just screw all those who won't. Well, some day you might run into difficulty. You might get laid off during a recession and find that your skills just aren't needed in the marketplace any more, or that there are just too many younger, more energetic, better qualified individuals out there, willing to take your job. And you'll be bitter.
Thucydides411 11 months ago
@SmokeRingsPipeDreams And I don't think you know the slightest thing about healthcare, either in the US or in European countries. You can't even spell Medicaid, and you seem to think that doctors are charging sky-high rates to Medicare and Medicaid patients, because nobody is checking up on the costs. Actually, Medicare and state Medicaid programs aggressively negotiate rates with doctors, and that's why the same procedures cost so much less under those programs than under private insurance.
Thucydides411 11 months ago
@SmokeRingsPipeDreams The problem is that you don't know what you're talking about, but you want to have an opinion. If you don't have insurance, you'd be much better off under a universal system. I'll tell you what. You think European "socialism" is collapsing. The one thing European politicians dare not touch is healthcare, because their systems are so popular. They pay about half as much per person as we do here, and the countries I know of have well-funded systems that aren't going broke.

The US healthcare costs have been pushed up since 1970 because of the reliance on insurance and government regulation. Let the true free market have a chance and costs will come down. If you are not asking what something is going to cost when you buy that item or service then the costs are going to go up. It’s a no-brainer!
White777Wolf 1 year ago
Since the mid-1970s, the Nobel Prize in medicine or physiology has gone to American residents more often than recipients from all other countries combined. In only five of the past 34 years did a scientist living in America not win or share in the prize. Most important recent medical innovations were developed in the United States.
White777Wolf 1 year ago
i have some complaints about my country (germany) like everyone has, but healthcare is not one of them.
Ask any german, were happy with our system since 1880.
mymom1234 1 year ago
@mymom1234 The German system does work, but looks at tax lists: yours are much, much higher. If you look at Scandinavia it gets even worse; some people can be taxed 70 percent! It's ridiculous!
JohanVonDoorf 1 year ago
If our are alone and rich youll pay nearly 45% taxes, thats true.
But for families only the major earner has to pay and the whole
family has insurance. And half of the amount you have to pay for the insurance has to be paid by your employer.
Even if you cant pay you get to keep your insurance. Why? Because we think its inhuman. Your life and wellbeing are of equal value than anyone else's. You get the best treatment we have to offer. Im okay with high taxes for the rich for what we get.
mymom1234 1 year ago
@mymom1234 High Taxes are legal theft, nothing more. In the US they will still treat immediate emergencies.

But health insurance no matter what the cost is the only thing that is unquestionable. Supporting the life and wellbeing of our citizen is absolutely worth the small amount you pay (higher if you are rich).

Voluntaryism is rejection of all taxes, as they are theft. Police, firefighters, teachers, post service, would all be private sector jobs in such a system. Voluntaryism is a radical philosophy, as radical as some of the communist principals that are in effect in our very own country--difference being freedom.

Why?

At a atime when we should be moving towards markets, Obama is moving away from them and making everyone dependent on government.

Welcome back, Jimmy Carter!
wildnites558 1 year ago
@wildnites558
So whats youre point?!?
Nasse13 1 year ago
@Nasse13 Well, this is a strange off-topic rant you go on. But the reason the "electoral college" is in place in the US is to stop highly populous states from deciding the outcomes of every national election. Paring down the votes a President gets by using electors evens the playing fields and prevents graft and corruption by politicians favoring the more populous states like NY, NJ, CA, FL, OH. Makes sense when you realize that we are a "representative republic".

Efteling4Ever 2 years ago
Fuck, what a simplistic piece of garbidge. Take alone the first "key point": "The right to health care ... means the right to get into a long waiting line". How derogative. Never faced a waiting list in my life and no, woman, it means the right to get treatment for free or at an affordable price so you don't die in the gutter (as you couldn't afford a private insurance) if you're poor. And guess what, if you belong to the 1% of rich people you can always opt for private clinic.
Efteling4Ever 2 years ago
This video just dismisses European healthcare without properly representing how it works. The fact is, universal care is cheaper, and most Europeans get very good coverage. My experience is that Europeans have easier access to healthcare than Americans.
All this talk about waiting in long lines is deliberately misleading. In most universal systems, necessary procedures are prioritized over elective procedures. That's just rational and sane, because it makes the best use of available resources.
Thucydides411 2 years ago
It's cheaper because they put price controls on their medical services. On the other hand it can become more expensive because of the lack of innovation for new capital. Secondly, not all of Europe has the same health care system, so it's rather arbitrary and naive to simply categorized the health care systems of the world into "EuRop3 vs. Am3rika."

The only reason people back a single payer is like the woman says in the video - they want someone else to pay their health care. The current US system is a mess due to gov intervention. The U.S. system is not perfect and has many faults just like every country does.
