For all you guys that think Kentaro is a joke - why take a competition so seriously? The guy was young, and he enjoyed the competition as a chance to have fun with cooking. So what if he thinks cooking is like fashion? They're both fascinating art forms, and an artist knows that art is universal - they're both different ways of expressing oneself. Anyway, I think Kentaro's cute.

@centersnareDM Agreed. He doesn't seem all that cocky to me. Young and lacking in experience next to the Iron Chefs, maybe, but he comes off as more enthusiastic about this challenge than as a 'cocky douche'.

chairman kaga said katsuyo kobayashi was the 1st woman to beat chen kenichi. i thought kyoko kagata was the 1st woman to beat chen kenichi? and she did it at 26 yrs old. then kobayashi was the 2nd woman to beat chen kenichi and he got a lot of grieve from his chef buddies after that.

@urch1n2 You are correct, Kagata was first, Kaga errored there. If you watch Kobayashi's battle, he correctly does state in the intro that Kagata was the first female challenger.

Factually speaking, Chairman Kaga is wrong in one account. Kobayashi Sr. had Michiba ascend to the stage, not Morimoto. So in a sense, Kaga should've refer to the Iron Chefs in general, not specifically as those that faced Kobayashi Senoir.
