are you kidding? NEVER let the weight drift that far out in front of you,, keep it as close to your shins as possible. This guy will be the reason thousands of viewers herniate a disc.
its called a stiff leg deadlift.. focusing on your lower back and hamstrings. a good morning is when u have the bar on your back and bend over like this...completely focusing on the hamstrings and erector spinae. Get it right!!
@Chizzaforfaen Yes this is not a deadlift. Thumbs up for "DB Goodmorning" i see alot of people doing "deadlifts" in the gym but their legs are in the the same position the whole time. Deadlift prime movers are your legs
@uggy12345 If I had to guess, I would say that Scott is around 8-10% in this video. I am by no means an expert at telling what people's body fat % is, but anything lower than 8% is getting close to bodybuilding competition range!
@xOrion89x What does it or why should it matter to you who does or doesn't? If someone is trying to get into shape and this is the only thing they have to use, more power to them.
@02chevyguy It really doesnt matter to me personally, I just dont like to see people doing things that arent productive when they could be doing an exercise that is, but I kinda gave up on that a while ago in a practical sense, now I just make youtube comments about it.

@ArctanThardus you can do this with a barbell. We call it a straight leg deadlift on my football team. If you do it right, and wear a belt so you dont paralyze yourself, then it should transfer most of the load to your back and off your legs. you can do it with BB's and DB's as long as you do it safely
@rockstr56 yeah i know but it is more dangerous and since half the guys on youtube dont know what tha hell their doing....i wouldnt recommend it to them :p not really a beginner move

Reasons I like this variation of the deadlift:
1) It targets a lot more of the hamstrings and lower back than any other deadlift variation.
2) This exercise is easy to fit into a split routine, especially on leg days.
3) If you do this type of variation correctly, (like Scott has demonstrated) it takes a lot of pressure off your ligaments and joints.

1. Not everybody can afford a gym membership or a barbell set
2. People might be lacking space where they live to use/have a barbell set.
3. Even if it's dumbbells, at least some sort of weight is being used in an attempt to get into shape, so why not go with what you can use?
