If there's any way to blur out that tail number, I'd do it. Otherwise, awesome video! I work on the flight line at Ramstein Air Base pushing pallets all day every day and I'm on C5s at least once a day. Great looking giants, but not reliable at ALL haha
@proudalice OPSEC is a big deal at least here at Ramstein. It's really not a big deal if no one's said anything about it in over 2 years that the video's been up, but I know here they make a HUGE deal out of tail numbers in pictures..If you look on the Ramstein facebook page, they have a bunch of pictures of C5s and C17s and the tails are blurred out in every picture

I'm glad they're re-engining this mighty beast. The entire fleet -- the -A- models included -- ought to be re-winged, re-engined and given the avionics upgrades.
I logged 6981.5 hours on the C-5 as a instuctor flight engineer at Travis. Once you know the airplane, it's not that hard to move it and keep it to a schedule.
@proudalice You Aussies are the best, greatest and nicest friends American's ever had! I got to go down under 10 times during my career. I brought you your first FA-18's from the factory at St. Louis all the way to Avalon (outside of Melbourne) back in June 1984 on a C-5. I've been to Sydney, Richmond, Brisbane, Townsville, Alice Springs, Melbourne. WE LUV YA!
it took me hours and hours to stop shaking after being onboard that beast. ive got a photo of this same C5 waiting on taxi way and a cessna 172 taking off, and just looking at size difference, wow....
absolutely huge! compared to a 717-200 or 737-800 cockpit, its massive. i got pictures on facebook and even an album dedicated to the tour of this massive beast. loved it aye
Except for some glare, this is quite an impressive machine! Good video skills too! I haven't figured out how to use that function on my camera yet! hahaha! so kudos to you for a great job!
@BearBearGuate thanks heaps mate. I do the best i can with the conditions. We couldnt really drive around the other way for no glare as we would have driven on a 'live' taxiway and thats a no no.... we dont have radios for it or appropiate licences

I remember when I first saw a C5 up close at an airshow; I was stunned by its immense size. I took my gf to see it, and she kept saying "It's huge!"
