Bullshit. Some of his movies are too ambitious, i.e. Kill Bill and Ingourious Basterds, but Pulp Fiction, Reservoir Dogs, that's top-of-the-line fucking shit. He's the mastermind of nonlinear storytelling. Sure, not the first one to do it, but INNOVATIVE doesn't even begin to describe what Quentin contributed to the idea. As far as being an "enormous prick," he's just excited about his work, and 9 times out of 10, there's reason to be.

No offense to Quintin, but I don't think that was a great explanation. Quintin never made any good gangster films. He makes good films in his unique style but not gangster films. Talk to Michael Mann and Marty about good gangster films. That was just throwing obvious words together to try and sound deep.......

I don't dislike Quentin, but I'm not a huge fan of his style and my personal opinion was that his explanation wasn't that good. If you think his two gangster movies are the best of all time, you are entitled to your opinion but the world would argue otherwise. Go check the ratings of Reservoir dogs compared to Goodfellas. The proof is in the pudding.

Thats obviously proving you care about someone elses opinion of a movie for then you should. Why would you let rating decide a choice between Reservoir Dogs and Goodfellas when A) They can't be compared and B) WHy would you ever try to compare them in the first place

If you want to ask Quentin about movies, ask him what the elements are of a good "This movie is making me feel like I'm on drugs" movie. ie: Pulp fiction. Great Movie in it's own style-Quentins style; does not include the BEST gangster movies of all time.

i think its interesting the extent to which the italian mafia has been glamourized and glorified in film. the legacy of films like the godfather and goodfellas is so huge. its portrayal in film has influenced american culture more than the actual italian mafia has
