Many game shows use the same studio like TPIR to tape their ahows. I think the Carol Burnett Show also uses the same studio. Sets are designed to be build and torn down quickly and stored when not in use.
I never thought the studio was as wide as you see it here. There is a lot more floor space on either side of the platform where the charging and blocking podiums are. When I saw this show as a kid, I thought the whole room in which the game was played was the width of the platform, as I hadn't ever seen the wide shots until I'm seeing this clip now. I also find it interesting that you can see the Whew sign up above the set; it' was probably lowered like various props in The Price Is Right.
Thank you for posting this wonderful song! I was fascinated with this show, and this music, back in 1979 when I saw it as a kid. I used to love to play these theme songs on the piano, and I recall making a tape of my attempt to play this closing song and calling it Whew Version #2. That is fantastic that you found it without Rod Roddy's voice over it!
@aman1016 Yeah, I hope the full theme comes soon! Too bad no one is allowed to post any TVPMM content on YouTube, so I guess we'll wait & see if another site has it.
hey... its the clenaest version I've heard yet .. and FYI, the theme was created by Alan Thicke (yes, the guy from Growing Pains).. he did several themes back in the day, including "Big Wheels" for WOF .. some of his stuff is on the Television Production Museum site, but alas not this great gem .. thanks for posting.. you da man !!!
Always loved this show's music--'specially the drums, which are just WAITING to be sampled and chopped! Peace.

Very unusual to see a wide shot that's so wide you can see the other camera in the studio as well as the ceiling with all the light fixtures

@jeopardy60611 Coincidentally, Whew! was also taped in the same studio as TPIR (yep, that's how wide the stage is).

@jeopardy60611 My high school chemistry teacher was in the TPIR audience, and she said that our lab was bigger than Studio 33.

@aman1016 I recently found out that the entire music package has been lost (according to Alan Thicke).
