  • look in your for Q1AUNc6lLL8

  • I got a accident last year and got afraid! trex explode 2 meters from me, it was from a friend, and was shaking, I told him I would have a look and when I started it (gov mode), it almost hit me on the balls! the blades exploded. my friend has inverted the gyro 3G now, after a while (9 months), this morning I did an order, the TREX 700E V2, this afternoon, I saw your video... I've just canceled the order. No more helis for me! damn! I hope you feel better, and thank you for sharing this!

  • What song is that ?

  • Took a blade strike to the face the other night. I was in my appartment parking lot, hovering it few feet in front of my face, walking the dog if you will. A car turned in fast and it had those Xeon type headlights. I've been wanting to talk to the guy because he keeps parking and sitting there with his lights shining into my kids bedroom. Anyways, I kinda flinched and turned my head. I think I pulled back on the cyclic cuz WHAM! right into my face. Luckly 2 small cuts, could of been worse.

  • Most RC accidents are due to pilot confusion or panic. Many claim interference, or radio/mechanical failure, but who knows. None of my crashed were due to interference or any kind of failure. I do know one thing for sure. Anytime you crash an rc plane or heli, you must send the receiver in to have it checked out for cracked filters or other problems, or throw it away, period. It's simply not worth the risk with anything that fly's. Even hard landings can damage a receiver. Glad you ok. Dennis

  • you spelled hobby wrong the whole time i am 12 and i no how to spell ''hobby'' LOL sorry about your face next time i fly i'll wear safety glasses

  • its so sad to see that something you love did harm you

  • god damn man, I can't believe the damage that did to you, christ hope ya heal up ok

  • dam scary m8.. i will take alot more care with my helis and planes from now on .. i always use safteyand never fly in inclosed areas near schools or around children. if children do turn up i normaly land tell them how dangerous rc planes and helis can be and ask them to stand well back if there going to stand there and watch if they semm like they got no sence about them i normaly wait for them to leave or leave myself this will make me take even more care thanks for sharing hope you healed well

  • aww, luckly it didnt hit the eye

  • HAY PASO OTRO FALLO NUNCA SE DEVE VOLAR SERCA DE UNO TIENE QUE TENER DISTANSIA CON EL HELICOPTER PARA CUANDO PASE ALGO DE SERVO OH GYRO NO TEDE Y CAIGA AL PISO.. NO VUELEN SERCA DE NADIE Y TANPOCO DE OR MISMO.. LAMENTO ESO QUE LE PASO MUY MAL PERO SUELTE QUE NO PERDIO EL OJO QUE TE MEJORE Y TODO SE PONGO BIEN COMO ESTABA TU CARA.

  • close call! your lucky to have your eye!

btw next time let it hit the ground instead of trying to save it with your face! j/k

  • ouch !!! :'( , have a good lucky :)

  • Hope your going to be ok,,iam new to this hobby with a trex 450 also..crashed the last 4 times out..it does scare me some.. my girlfriend can distract me,,i tell her,,,SHHHHHHHHUSH be quiet please this can be dangerous i must focus.. she shuts up,,and iam so rattled i cant concentrate,,,then wham in the ground again,,and i practice on the Sim Phoenix alot .. maybe too much,, but out side its not the same.. hmmm?? hope you will be ok thanks for the pictures ouch!!

  • @RCAeromodeling Exactly Spektrum are Poor Tx Claim to have an Unbreakable connection to reciever yet they need to claim it

FUTABA and JR just work you don't even need to really tweak them unless your model is poorly aligned then i laugh at you.

  • @jufeds Spektrum is made by JR...

  • @zonalklism Don't be a troll No one believes you

  • It's spelled HOBBY. Well if you read the instructions in the kit about safe distances it would have never happened. 20ft in front of you? I only hover that close.

  • Thanks for posting this video, a great reminder to stay safe. I wish you well!!!!

  • One thing I've learned about R/C Heli, always wear eye protection and pay attention when you connect the battery.

  • Holy shit.. Get better and I hope this never happens to anyone

  • @EGO310573

if there electric helies imagine a trex 700 nitro coming towards your face

thats why peaple are scared of nitro more than electric because it so much more powerfull than the electric powerd models you where lucky it wasent a nitro helie

that did that because nitro will do more than just flesh wounds trust me on that

you will lose a finger or a head even stick with electric for your sake and leave nitro to peaple who can fly them so never buy a nitro

  • now you've dirtied the spectrum

  • @leNOIRfae HA, poor spectrum :)

  • Thats what you get for buying spektrum transmitter Ok for planes sometimes

    JR or Futaba

    Trex explode well your lol

  • @jufeds

That's an uneducated statement and at the same time an incomplete sentence.

  • @alexmit @ u ;p

Spektrum lover Did you over invest in shitty equipment and feel obligated to defend it.

  • Well... what shall I say... Bert Kammerer - one of the best RC-pilots on earth said: if you are not used to hoover inverted don't fly around inverted... If your are note used to hoover in every positivon don't even think about hoovering inverted...

Model-helicopters are no toy... Start to fly them in little steps and try inverted first at the sim till you are absolutely used to do this... and after a while do this in reality...

  • You spelled "hobby" wrong.

  • ok its only dangourus if you fly it right infront of you walk at leasst 20 steps away and you will be good

  • Wow I wanna get into this and fly inverted so I been looking everywhere for a starter copter and then I see this! well I hate that it happend but I am still fascinated in these awsome lil machines I dont know what model to start with though and I feel I am better than a 3 channel I havent seen one that has speed on it I want something that I can learn from that's not to fast any ideas..?

  • I am really sorry for you.

Hopefully you will cautiously continue to take part in our fantastic hobby.

  • hello I just had a 450 pro attack I was inverted and lost orientation came right at me I got 14 stitches below eye all I can say is very lucky was not serious I thank god for his protection could been alot worse ill post video I had iPhone on hat I'm glad your on the mend keep flying for the lord

  • damn! thanks god it didnt hit ur eyes tho

  • comprate un casco integral!!

  • You mean you didn't know what spinning blades can do?

  • You've gotta be wearing a bullet-proof vest and a motorbike helmet. Or stay a cage when you're flying them.

  • Flying meat shredders.

  • U are damn lucky

  • could a palm sized walkera do that?

  • @hod05 LOL, no

  • i have a 600 im alittle young but its a hobby i love and injures are expecting im glad you are still flying even after such an accident, i hope that dosnt happen to me but even if it did i would still fly ill never give up something that i love. good video shows that things like helicopter that some may think are toys can hurt you more than you think and can cause fatalitys if not taken the right choices and no common sence

  • @happyrejjy I definitely, agree with that fact. Quick research will show what brand has more problems. Problems that can end like this. It's not a "preference" issue. Facts are facts. Newbies. Go with the safest reliable system. My own experience? Over 3800 flights on my trex 500 and futaba 7ch with "zero" brownouts, "zero" re-binds and "zero" signal loss. I have enough to worry about my dumb thumbs, and wearing mechanical part. My radio must give total, absolute, unquestioned control.

  • @trexinvert You log how many flights you have with your RC helicopters? Sorry but that's sad. What are looking for? A job with the airlines? :-) LOL

Ok, before you reply, thank you for your input to the conversation. I do respect it because you've obviously got a lot of experience.

  • /watch?v=VdIlUYiVmnc

another video to convince people to not fool around! (i'm not saying you fooled around!)

  • Hobby...Hobby, consequences, consequences.

  • Were you wearing safety glasses, and I don't mean sunglasses...

  • @MrMaypole14 Nop, but lucky no harm was done to my eye.

  • @EGO310573

Hey ~~ I just saw your clip today. I just started looking into this R/C world!

Thank you for sharing your thoughts!! I hope you are well by now ~ since you

posted 2yerars ago . !!! Wear Oakley !!! Take care.

  • @MrMaypole14 Oakley's are good eye pro the army let us use them instead of standard issue

  • Very lucky your not blind ... stuff happens and kudos for telling people how dangerous these machines are

  • You are lucky you didn't lose an eye. And it's all completely your fault.

  • Please write in your description that it had nothing to do with the Storm 450 model, but with heli's in general. Storm 450 is a very high quality clone of Trex 450, to an affordable price. This could happen to ANY heli.

In addition to this, I would like to thank you for putting up this video. The thought about something like this has CROSSED my mind, but I haven't taken it serously. This was a wakeup call for me security-wise.

Gonna me more careful in the future :)

  • @EGO310573 What about the failsafe ?!

  • Shit happens....think about it technology has turned our toys into lethal weapons & if your not safety concsious you really should'nt be anywhere near them.

On a brighter side wounds heal & chicks dig scars!!!

  • I cant beleiv there would be haters on this video. Great message for people that arent big on safty. In reality a great inspection or even new parts can fail to cause this even putting bad judgement aside. You still have your eyes !! An unlucky event with a lucky result!!!

  • Thank you for reminding us n00bs the dangers of these helis. I'm the proud owner of an HK450 GT and am still learning basics.

  • It is good that you posted this video because it is a constant reminder to all of us how dangerously powerful electric helicopers are. They are only as safe as the weakest link in the electronics or parts. It is amazing to me how many people have been turned into Frankenstiens by carbon fiber blades, and for some reason, because you love helicopters so much, you simply say, I LOVE THIS HOBBY. If someone else did this to you, you'd sue or have them arrested for life.

  • The last time I got hit by a 450 size it was right on top of the foot (I was wearing flip flops). No stitches required but it did hairline crack a bone and there was a lot of blood. People, do be careful with these things!

  • Small but Terrible lol

  • Buy the best blades you can. Did they come apart before they injured you?

  • Buy the best blades you can

  • Thanks for posting, wow that sucks but glad it missed your eye! Just for my curiosity, what head speed were you running or what throttle percentage? I'll definitely be more careful. I've got the same TX and I haven't read other instances of this TX quitting like that, so hopefully it was just a bad unit that you had and not a trait of this TX. Good luck healing!

  • I'm sorry for you accident pal, I admire your determination. I also have a Trex450 and the Dx6i and will watch more carefully from now on everytime I fly. your scream has been heard here. I hope you get well soon.

  • Wow, glad your ok. Your very brave for posting this ,as this is very educational. RC helis are a lot of fun , but demand a lot of respect. What happened to You can happen to any of us that enjoy this hobby. Be careful out there guys.. And again , glad your ok bro

  • People meed to bear in mind that that small dent on any blade, close to the grips on the trailing edge, is a weak point that is very fragil, thats why the blades co monly break at that point. Once you get those dents, its time to replace the blades, for safety

  • I have an EXI 450 and landed it the other day and the feathering shaft bolt was almost all the way backed out. It was just fixing to turn a blade loose. I've been trying to think of a safety barrier between man and heli but I cant think of a good one really. I hate to think you would need to put on a full face motorcycle helmet to fly one but the danger is real. Man that was close to your eye.

  • This nearly happened to my friends dad... It was scary his Turbine helicopter was coming right for him... Glad your ok! Everyone who flies as a hobby should be aware of what can happen to you. Take care man.

  • they have to use a helmet man , damm , i happy i sold mine hirobo shuttle with os30 engine , it is a dead machine , and not a toy some people think , and its electronics ,i never trust a servo , and i never fly on head level ,carbon blades chop of your head easy !! LOL

  • Thanks for posting. They are dangerous, and we need to keep that in mind.

  • I'm About to buy a 450 Storm. Should NOT have seen this video, that's scary stuff (so close of your eye) could have been way worst :O

  • @kysco Yea it could, I was really lucky!

  • hobby

  • I was relieved to see that you are still keeping at it!! Keep the heli flyin bro!

  • LAND ON THE GROUND NEXT TIME !!!

  • the biggest heli I have is just the nimble SR. Even though the trex 450 has a more powerful motor than the blade SR, this vid makes me more aware of the hobby.

  • Man i cut my finger last week on a pusher type jet and just got a trex 450 today and was thinking "what if this carbon fiber blade fucking hits me" im very cautious now, plugging in everything and even flying close to my self. I use to not care and didnt think it could happen but it does. Right when the gyro initializes i throw it in throttle hold in fear of hitting the power. Thanks for posting, glad your okay even though its pretty bad. I bet those stitches came with some nice pain killers :)

  • So... I have a question... Did you have really good skills before flying that? Like flying inverted and control everything? Because it's not supposed to happen.

  • Ouch, that looks like it hurt really really bad... Kind of scary, these things have tons of power, so fly safe guys.

  • @jamielindley Speak your mind... I did not put this video for sympathy but you might not understand the reason why but ty anyway for sharing your formal comment.

  • @jamielindley you sucks man get a little respect to this guy

  • @jamielindley Read everything at 0:41

  • People think helis are toys maybe your experience can help. Glad you are O.K. and I am also happy that you didnt quit.

  • @TheDaveyht3 I'm ok ty, just hope this helps in some way.

  • you are very very lucky. I know a guy got accident with 450, he lost one eye.

  • @dhphucsvn I'm ok , but I know I was lucky!!

  • Thank you for sharing this video we all need a wakeup call now and again as our confidence grows. I think this hit the spot, excuse the pun.

  • @RcStorm450 NNN, you are right. This is the reason I posted this, just hope ppl realize the damage they can do.

  • That blood-stained DX6i looked bad ass! I wouldn't clean it and mount it to the wall like a battle trophy!

  • @cracker442 LOL, and it was really hard to clean......should of left it like that.

  • next time wear a helmet

  • im not flying anywhere near myself. Glad it wasn't with a 600

  • im not flying anywhere near myself. Glad ur ok.

  • Thanks for making this warning video. It is great to make people aware of what can happen if something is wrong! I just bought a 450 and never gave much thought until now as to what can happen if it hit someone!

  • Thanks for making this warning video. It is great to make people aware of what can happen if something is wrong! I just bought a 450 and never gave much thought until now as to what can happen it it hit someone!

  • Trex 700 coming at you full speed:XP

  • I'm sorry this happened to you...but next time check your gear! It's rare that in this day and age a helicopter will just "come at you" for no reason. There's a reason. It's like the situations where people say "The gun just went off!" A gun doesn't just "go off," and a helicopter doesn't just "come at you."

Only saying this cause you are making it sound like a freak accident. That's possible, but think about what might have happened and learn from it.

  • Thanks for the video. My next purchase will now be sports goggles for the kids, they love to fly (small beginner helicopters) and were born blind in one eye. Flying helps with there depth perception but, I don't want to chance there good eye it's the only one they have.

  • @theavengerface2face are you available for parties? I can't wait to see you walk on water!

  • You make it sound like it just attacked you or somthing! I guarentee it was somthing you did! You sound like your more against it than for it, more like your trying to keep people from doing it. It really don't help people to see this, it just makes them more nervous at the field, fear alone can cause accidents!

  • If you really loved this sport as much as you say you do, you would not have posted this video. People already know how dangerous this sport is! Just the sheer head speed of these will tell you that. 99% of these types of injuries are do to PILOT error! Its because of people like you, that not long from now everyone and their mother will have to have a license just to fly a paper airplane! Now that you got all the sympathy you were looking for, why don't you take the video down!

  • @theavengerface2face I think the video is helpful. I fly too but I do sometimes wonder whether it's a good thing that no formal training or insurance is required to buy and fly something like this. Especially in the USA where there's no NHS.

  • Mate, Im happy you were been lucky for your eye!

My father was injuried 3 weeks ago by his clone t-rex 450, and he was loosing his finger, fortunately the doctor save it !

    It a wonderful hobby...but it's dangeous..

    take care,

    cheers from Italy

  • Man, I am sorry to see you hurt like this. Just relieved to hear that you will be okay again. But how to protect any one from this? Get well soon. Thanks for this warning video.

  • @DirkME1022 Full body armour, medieval style..with metal helmets and gauntlets might be the way to go? Will be hard to operate the sticks though, but saefty comes first..or does that make it unsafe as you will loose almost all dexterity? maybe a shield would work better

  • Man you were so lucky that you didn't loose both your eyes man

  • Wow man ! It was really close to your right eye !! RC Helis are definitely NOT toys...

  • Thanks for the video dude people can learn from your mistake.

  • damn your lucky you didnt lose an eye

  • Those things take about 0.00000001 sec to go 20 ft

  • God was in Charge to watch over you !

In the Video It looks like your Blades previously have been a little damaged on the sharp edge at the bladeholder as they slapped back. ! Thanks 4 sharing the Vid !

    Greetings

    Daniel

  • dude, iam glad you didnt loose the eye or you will had have some issues with depth perception while flying again :)

  • Auuuuu....!!!

  • if thats a 450 in the middle then wats on the right????

  • @xToXiicxT3RRoRx

A 600E and 600N as stated later in the vid.

  • @BaitCaister Nop, but want to.

  • @ExtensionChord Yes it does very good, but flies to slow.. it's more for beginners. The walkera CB100 is a lot smaller and faster making it far more fun to fly inside the house.

  • Sorry about your accident(I have facial scars when a dog went ape on my face and tore my nose in two and tore my top lip in half and I still have no feeling where the tears were but the scars on the face heal really well so there is some good news). thank you for making me aware about this im going to purchase some glasses for me and the rest of the family before my next flight. I have always made people who want to watch stand well away from me and my helicopter but you never know and now I c

  • @Oddman76 Ty, the reason I made the video was to make ppl understand the injuries rc can do and take any measures to avoid them.

  • Imagin what would happened if It was an t-600 o' 700 :-O

  • @PsyiiTroX Hmmm, better not, I bet not pretty.

  • Dude, I am so glad that you are OK, it's been said before but I too need to say THANK YOU for highlighting the danger of our great hobby. I fly 250 all the way to 700 and believe you me I will think twice now about checking my blade tracking in the hover 1m away from my head!!!!!!!! Take care man.

  • @maverickthebastard Np, I know what you mean about blade tracking. a while back I have I had my friend hold my 600 on the table to chk the tracking :( not so smart .

  • Dude glad you are OK and that you didn't lose an eye. Were the blades involved in any previous crashes, even minor damage? I wonder why the blade just broke off like that. I'm still learnin' on my Blade 400.

  • @pi3k Blades ware new but they broke when it hit my nose and then forehead knocking me down.

  • you spelled hobby wrong. lol.

  • @daveandnikki123 Srry, maybe my injured eye missed the spelling. LOL

  • ya after one of my blades poped of the pitch shaft i used extra precaution by using threadlock on any moving parts and checking cracks in my blades and if i had a bad landing i would stop and check blades every time i got cut from stopping the blades to save my dog from gitting hit stupid of me to let him out sorry bout ur accident though :(

  • I am glad you shared this. Scariest thing to me is that you got a big slice both above and below the eye, but not to the eye itself. Very lucky. Also the fact this wasn't just some guy doing something stupid, rather you were flying responsibly, and it still happened at random.

Thanks to you and other stories like yours, I Always wear safety glasses, even if only hovering.

  • This is really bad, i always fly with my 2 year old. i will think twice now.

  • Bad quality blades (frp) or too much head speed!!.. I never fly wihtout safety glasses..Hope you are ok..Regards

  • Its always sad to hear that someone has an accident because of technical issues.

Ive been doing this since i was 13years old, the only thing my dad ever told me, Keep the thing away from you I rather have it in the ground then on ur body. and thats what i would like to say to everybody who wants to start this. Dont take anything from grant. everything could go wrong, but know Its better to fall on the ground then on you or even worse on someone else.

  • Thank you very much for showing us, how dangerous this hobby can be. It's a VERY important job you did! I hope, VERY much heli-pilots will see, what can happen, if you undervalue such a heli. As you told: I don't want to know who this case ended, if you flew a 600 or 700.

Very glad to hear, that you are fine and everything is healed. Keep on going and all the best to you!

  • dude if the heli in the middle did this than the big one could literaly amputate fingers maybe an arm. Ive would have never thought those wounds would have came from the one in the middle. Glad to see ya alright i mean an inch up or down and you really would have lost an eye u are really lucky

  • if that was the 600 at a high head speed you would have probably no more than a 20% chance to live lol. I got smacked by my old cx2 on the nose and it hurt..

  • You said "I want to make peopple aware what of what these helis can do."

We are aware!! Well only the smart people are.

  • ouch, this is the reason ive stayed away from helis if it goes bad it goes bad BIG. i fly fixed wing and have yet to get a prop chop, but as my stuff gets faster the rpms go up and the damage from a prop at 30k rpm, ouch i dont want to even think about it. but the more i get into the hobby the more i want a heli as they look like a real blast. but dont know anyone else who flys planes nevermind helis as it would be good to have a helping hand in the set up..one day tho, sigh lol. glad your ok

  • Man you were lucky you didnt lose your eye, im glad your fine now and still flying.

  • Its great to to hear you made a good recovery and that are still flying helis.

Also, I want to thank you for making this vid. I will be sharing this video with every rc heli pilot I know.

  • It is very kind of you sharing your experience with all of us. We don't realise how dangerous it can get until an accident happen. I fly rc heli to, but I am a real plane pilot and I learn something during my flight training. It says something like this:

" Learn from other's mistakes... You won't live long enough to try them all "...

Keep on flying Dude... And be carefull

    Frank

  • People have actually died from RC heli crashes. This is why flying clubs have strict safety rules and flight lines. Glad to see that it didnt get your eye.

  • The 600N has a rowdy lookin canopy! I just got into helis and I am leary about everything in the Main Rotor head.

  • Ouch - oh man, I'm sorry. Thanks for the warning to everyone out there - even 450s are not to be `toyed` with. Is there any vision damage? It looks like your eye is ok - I'm glad you didn't lose it. You've definitely helped me reconsider my safety pracitces.

  • @jayywhyy There was some eye damage but not seriously, thank god. I keep flaying the 540 and my 600 but I do it very far away ^^ farther the better ;)

    Ambrocio

  • If you look at the flying fields, there's always a bunch of little fences next to the runway. If your plane or heli goes haywire, you can duck and take some cover. Sorry for the accident, it must have been scary, but lucky no one else got hurt.

  • What blades were you using? Carbon fibre? Woodies? Love to know. Hope you're all healed up now. ;)

  • @yogibbear I was using fiberglass blades, and yes it all healed just fine. ^-^

  • @yogibbear I had fiber glass blades on. I think Carbon fiber blades can make more damage and affect the wound. It's all healed up thankx for your comment. :)

    Ambrocio

  • ouch

  • WTF? O.O You're lucky man, keep on flying!

  • GAAAAYYY FIIIISHHHHH!

  • Ok.. thank you so much for answering. I allways do a range check before flying. But i never had any problem. I have the SE version of the spektrum DX6i. Waiting for the DX8 now.. A great day to you

  • Hi mate. Sorry to see what happend to you. But did you find out what went wrong? Was it human error or the transmitter. I'm going to use my DX6i on a T-rex 550e and i hope that does it well. Hope your out flying soon

  • @ArcticRc It turned out to be the Tx. I had it repaired some times it would not transmit but the problem ended up to be the antenna...an the Tx. I have now changed my Dx6i for a Dx7 ( I needed the extra channel for my nitro Heli) and had no issues nor crashes after this.

  • Instant world-fame to you !! :)

But thanks for the warning. This is why i wear strong sunglasses and keep my distance.

  • I fly 450, 500 and 600 electric, Holy sh....,This is so scary.

hope you recovered well. Thank for sharing.

  • @jitavits Thank you

  • Que bien...q no llego a mas¡¡¡..espero pronto te recuperes..¡¡ ahi estamos en contacto¡¡¡ suertudote¡¡

  • @Pinoedmundo Gracias primmo

  • Thanks for going to the trouble of showing this and I'm sorry to see that it happened in the first place. I would hate to get hit by my 450 let alone my 600 as you say.

Get well soon and I hope you continue to enjoy your heli's as so many of us do.

    Fly safe.

    Nico.
