I like Joe lynn better than Dio, with all due respect to Ronnie James (RIP) I got fed up with those songs about castles, dragons and that medieval crap.
the thing is is that in ways i think the dio era is better but then again i do get bored of it quite quickly because his voice gets the same a bit i think its like that for long live rock n roll but not 1, 2, but then i think the joe lyn turner era is pretty bad down to earth and difficult to cure terrible albums straight between the eyes amazing and bent out of shape is ok,
there is a new band formed by Joe Lynn Turner and some other former Rainbow members called Over The Rainbow with Ritcie's son Jurgen(sorry if i misspelled your name) on guitar!!!!
Holy S%^T!! This is amazing!!!I am a HUGE Rainbow/JLT fan. I knew this existed but have never seen it, nor heard it. I think at this point the band knew Ritchie and Roger were going back to DP. This should have been a live album on it's own, not a live comp. like Final Vinyl (which was great). Thank You Rainbow301. Just saw JLT in July with guys from Orleans, Elton John, and Pablo Cruise. Great show!! I am seeing JLT again this week in Newburgh NY at the Hudson River. Can't Wait!!
It seems the only time you really see Blackmore having fun on stage is in his Rainbow days and when he was playing with Turner, a great line up and I would love to see a reunion of this lineup.
My favourite music style is thrash metal, without any doubt, on which there are lots of killer guitarists. But I still consider Blackmore the BEST guitarist ever!!!
Thank you, rainbow301! Where did you get this 'Live 1984 Budokan' show? Is it still available? I saw Rainbow live in '84, at the Worcester Centrum, Worcester, MA, USA. Loudest show ever; my ears rang for *three* days...could not hear the person sitting beside me during the show! NJ's Joe Lynn Turner was my fav Rainbow singer; powerful voice, good range, underrated. Nice excerpt of 'Hey Joe' too.

My trinity. Blackmore, Lynch, Dime. They all bow down to Sir Ritchie!

Not one of the easiest Blackmore riffs to play (the chorus part), but he makes it look easy - effortless. Brilliant.

Anyone know Anya from the Battle Rages On album by Deep Purple. Ritchie seems to have used the opening riff again...

I'll probably get flamed for saying so, but I like the line up with Dio so much better.
