It really ain't funny when you loose a fish like that. I didn't see it, but no matter how big it was, it's always discouraging to lose a fish. The title is so true.

last winter i went fishing for sunfish and i set my rod right next to the hole the next minute my custom ice rod i made is inside the hole and I never saw it again, big fish probly, mad as hell, of course

Burbot eelpout or are good! A lot of people don't give them a chance but don't realize they are just a fresh water cod. Lol and there are lots of pout on Lake of the woods as you guys I'm sure know.

I have heard Burbot in the Midwest do not taste good but then I have heard that they taste wonderful here in Alaska and Canada.

i live in MN and have caught three eel pout on Lake of the Woods and I thought they were delicious

We think it was an eelpot, but it could have been a Walleye. We were on a real good bite of small Walleye/Sauger that were small. 10"-19" then this thing hit. We did get one other 5-6 pound pout so...
