You wont be able to tell untill you cut of the relaxed ends and after like a good amount of months after that i am 7 months nautral and as my hair get longer, my hair texture changes lol but i think you might be a 4b though. Also try to reduce the amount of times you staighten your hair, that way you can make sure you new natural hair is healthy. Good Luck!! I cannot wait till i see your journey!
if u have any questions feel free to ask & I will be more than happy to help if I know the answer :-) and if I don't there are many natural & transitioning youtubers with lots of tips
You're welcome! I don't really think it is important... the most important thing right now would be keeping your hair conditioned, moisturized and to do styles that will blend the 2 textures to ease you through the transition... I am only 6 mths into my transition but plan to transition for 1 yr or longer... maybe 2 yrs depending on my growth.. I wouldn't suggest straightening too much either in the beginning stages so you won't cause heat damage
and the flat iron is just doing what it is designed to do, whether you are relaxed or natural, and that is straighten your hair so that has nothing to do with hair type
@NaturallyBlu thanks, I hear so much about hair types I assumed it was important. I'm new to it only 4months in and I just FELT like I was screwing my hair up. When I was referring to the flat ironing it was more so me comparing my hair to my moms or the people in my house because when the flat iron their hair it doesn't look as straight that's all I didn't assume it was related to hair type lol
You won't necessarily be able to tell what your hair type is until most or all of your relaxed ends are gone... the relaxed ends can weigh down the hair and stretch it. IMO, hair typing isn't really important... just take time to learn about your hair, what it likes and what it doesn't and have fun during your transitioning phase because it can get hard
