  • I wish we've could've seen the ball-return part...

  • But will it blend?

  • cool!!!

  • Nice use of a big and small gear to slow the rotation speed down for the wave!

  • 毛虫みたい…

  • That's AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Also the bottom showing at 0:14,it's like a compactor AND a wave at the same time! (I mean those yellow technic bricks) You can check out my videos cause I'm new here! :D And I made a safe too. :D

  • cool man luv it

  • i don't know what this has to do with the band "The White Stripes" but this is fucking cool!

  • @party4lifedude : i was probably listening to them when I was building it

  • mind F|_|CK

  • I would have made the waves travel from the beginning to the end instead of just up and down. But good job anyway.

  • @kittenswithketchup : thanks for your suggestion - but this is what waves do, they go up & down! Have a look at Wikipedia to see.

  • @quilquin That depends on whether they are standing or travelling waves. Light waves are stationary, sound waves are longitudinal. The more you know!

  • @atmhso I thought someone may clarify this for me! - I had sea-waves in mind while designing it: I am in Cornwall, the centre of UK surfing

  • @quilquin I also hail from Cornwall! Whereabouts are you?

I had a think about this, and to make a travelling wave you could do it by rotating each of the grey/red connectors by 90 degrees compared to the previous one, so it makes a long spiral. Is this still built, is it possible to give that a try? I'm not 100% it'll work, but I think it stands a pretty good chance.

  • @atmhso Thanks for the suggestion , which I tried in one section but it just seems to reduce the amplitude and increase the frequency (unless I'm missing something). Also the 90 deg twist requires a set of four to get the mounting axle back in alignment, whereas it's a set of five (or seven) for the up/down effect, so do do it properly I think it would need a much longer set of twists between each mounting post - I doubt the parts would stand up to that!

    I'm in Truro btw.

  • nice
